U.S. Open 2011 Schedule For Friday: Andy Roddick Among 8 Americans In Action On Day 5

Thursday at the 2011 U.S. Open handily belonged to Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams. Friday, the world's greatest players and biggest rivals try to reclaim the attention.

Thursday's attention at the 2011 U.S. Open belonged solely to Serena Williams, Roger Federer, and, of course, the ever-brillant Novak Djokovic. The day's featured trio blazed through the competition, each winning their second-round match-ups without dropping a set. Now the action turns to Friday, as World No. 2 Rafael Nadal and No. 4 Andy Murray take center stage in their bid to reach the third-round. On the women's side, No. 2 Vera Zvonareva and No. 3 Maria Sharapova highlight the field.

While the rest of the world controls the majority of Friday's limelight, the afternoon stills feature a heavy dose of American gamesmanship. Men's World No. 21 Andy Roddick and No. 28 John Isner each face unranked countrymen for a chance to reach the third round, while Irina Falconi looks to keep the dream alive on the women's bracket as she takes on No. 22 Sabine Lisicki.

Here's a listing of some of the day's notable matches.

Men's matches:

Nicolas Mahut (FRA) vs. 2 Rafael Nadal (ESP)

Robin Haase (NED) vs. 4 Andy Murray (GBR)

21 Andy Roddick (USA) vs. Jack Sock (USA)

5 David Ferrer (ESP) vs. James Blake (USA)

Women's matches:
