VIDEO: Marcos Baghdatis Hates These Tennis Racquets

On Day 3 of the 2012 Australian Open in Melbourne, Marcos Baghdatis went up against Stanislas Wawrinka in the second round. Baghdatis quickly fell behind, two sets to none (7-6, 6-4). The No. 44-ranked player from Cyprus retired to the sidelines between sets and worked off his frustration by taking it out on some of his lousy, good-for-nothing racquets.

It serves those racquets right, in my opinion. I'm sure the racquet salesman convinced Baghdatis that they would be aces, but clearly they are at fault for the shoddy play in those first two sets. Normally, aggression of this type at a tennis tournament is considered over the line. It is possible that Baghdatis may receive a fine for his actions, but from what I hear, it is a real kangaroo court at the Australian Open.

Baghdatis went on to lose the match in four sets, 7-6, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1. I can only assume that the final set was 6-1 because Baghdatis was out of racquets and had to go bare-handed.
