Rory McIllroy won the 2011 U.S. Open, but two months earlier at the Masters, he blew a four-stroke lead to lose the tournament. He's probably hoping his girlfriend, the Australian Open's No. 1 seeded Caroline Wozniacki, doesn't do the same -- so he gave her some advice on how to win overcome pressures to win a major event. From the AP:
She smiled, paused, then relayed some of the advice McIlroy offered that helped him overcome similar pressure and win a golf major.
"Well, it's just about you can't really do anything about the past,'' Wozniacki said. "You just need to look forward. You have a tournament now, and you want to do the best you can. That's it.
"Then if it goes well, it's great. If not, you have the next one. It's like tennis.''
The top-ranked Dane is onto the third round of the first Grand Slam of the year. Despite being a top the rankings last year, Wozniacki didn't win a single slam.
Actually, she has yet to win a slam in her seven-year career.
In other words ... Wozniacki's career is a bit like her boyfriend's troubles in this highlight reel of last year's Masters.
