Nicolas Mahut is not a bad tennis player. He was, at one point, the No. 40 player in the world. He defeated ranked Radek Stepanek in straight sets in the first round. He was expected to go down to Novak Djokovic in straight sets on Day 6 of the 2012 Australian Open, but he wasn't exactly expected to get humiliated. The No. 1 player in the world dispatched of Mahut 6-0. 6-1, 6-1 in their third round match, taking just 74 minutes to do so.
A 74-minute match in women's tennis or non-Grand Slam men's tennis is enough of an indicator of a beat down, but a 74-minute win in three sets is something pretty incredible. Djoker won 84 percent of points on his first serve, hit 31 winners to his opponent's 12, and made just eight unforced errors. He moves on to the fourth round, where he will face the winner of the match between home country favorite Lleyton Hewitt and ranked Canadian Milos Raonic.
