Maria Sharapova and Sara Errani will square off in the women's final at the 2012 French Open at 9:00 a.m. ET live on NBC.
The women's final at the 2012 French Open is set for Saturday in what could be a classic matchup between soon-to-be world No. 1 Maria Sharapova and No. 21 Sara Errani at Roland Garros. The two will play at 3 p.m. local time, 9 a.m. ET. You can watch the match live on NBC.
Sharapova has steamrolled through the French Open in her quest for a career Grand Slam. She has dropped just one of the 13 sets she has played in this year's tournament, a tie breaker to Klara Zakopalova in the Round of 16 that she turned around into a 6-2 victory in the third set to win the match. Sharapova's dominance is even more impressive considering how higher seeds have struggled on the women's draw this year.
Errani beat the likes of No. 13 Ana Ivanovic, No. 10 Angelique Kerber and No. 6 Samantha Stosur on her way to the finals. The Italian hasn't had nearly as easy a time against her opponents as Sharapova. Against Stosur in the semifinals, Errani had to rebound from a 6-1 loss in the second set to pull out the win. Still, a berth in the finals is not easy to come by. Considering the names she has taken down, expect Errani to give Sharapova everything she can handle when the two square off.
