2012 Wimbledon Scores: Agnieszka Radwanska Claims Last Semifinal Spot

After play has finished on Tuesday, the women's quarterfinals are officially in the books at Wimbledon and the semifinal matchups are now set.

In the day's final match, No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska took on No. 17 Maria Kirilenko for the final spot in the semifinals. Kirilenko managed to force a third set, but could not put Radwanska away. Radwanska ultimately prevailed, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.

With the win, Radwanska now advances to take on German player Angelique Kerber in the semifinals. Kerber eliminated countrywoman Sabine Lisicki in an epic three-set match earlier on Tuesday, 6-3, 6-7 (7-9), 7-5.

The other semifinal match in the women's singles tournament will pit No. 2 Victoria Azarenka against No. 6 Serena Williams. Both women advanced with straight-set wins on Tuesday.

Wimbledon Scores 2012: Mardy Fish, Sabine Lisicki Fall Tuesday

The runs for two of the biggest stories at the 2012 Championship at Wimbledon, No. 10 Mardy Fish and No. 15 Sabine Lisicki, came to an end Tuesday at the All England club. Fish was playing in his first Grand Slam event since undergoing surgery to correct his heart arrhythmia. He fell to No. 5 Jo-Wilfired Tsonga in four sets, 4-6, 7-6 (11), 6-4, 6-4. Lisicki lost to No. 8 Angelique Kerber, 6-3, 6-7 (16), 7-5, coming off a stunning upset of No. 1 Maria Sharapova in the fourth round.

Fish won the first set in his match against Tsonga, 6-4, and was tied 1-1 in the second set Monday before rain suspended play until Tuesday. Fish served well, scoring on 86 percent of his eligible first serves, but also committed 27 unforced errors to 17 for his opponent. Fish was the last remaining American on the men's draw.

Lisicki also played a tight match, but couldn't make her aggressive play pay off as it did against Sharapova. She scored 57 winners to 19 for Kerber, but also committed 50 unforced errors to 13 over the course of the match. Kerber put Lisicki on her heels throughout the match, taking her to break point 19 times and converting eight.

Serena Williams Advances To Wimbledon's Semifinals With Win Over Petra Kvitova

Serena Williams has had much better luck than sister Venus at Wimbledon this year, but most pundits assumed that that luck would end when she met up with Petra Kvitova on Tuesday. It didn't, though, allowing Serena to advance to the semifinals at the All England Club.

Williams was able to pick up the quarterfinals victory in straight sets, ousting Kvitova 6-3, 7-5 to advance to the semifinals. It's obviously a great win for Williams considering she was able to eliminate the reigning champion from the Czech Republic.

SB Nation's own Bill Connelly predicted there was a chance of this happening, but didn't expect it to come in straight sets:

If the game comes down to guile and clutch play, one has to figure the odds are in Williams' favor. She's been around the block, winning 13 slam titles and reaching four other finals. With the match on the line against Yaroslava Shvedova in the fourth round, she unleashed three straight gutsy, perfect winners to lock down the match. But her feet can't quite move as quickly as she wants them to, and her service return has been spotty.

Williams now awaits the winner of the match between 2-seeded Victoria Azarenka and Tamira Paszek to find out who she'll matchup with later this week in her bid to make it to the Wimbledon finals.

If Serena's able to make it past that opponent, it'll be the sixth time Williams has reached Wimbledon's championship match -- and a chance for a fifth title ... and her first chance at a major championship since her Wimbledon victory in 2010.

Wimbledon 2012 Scores: Brian Baker's Run Ends; Andy Murray Advances

American Brian Baker's surprise run has ended at Wimbledon. The Tennessee native, who was participating in his first ever Wimbledon, fell 6-1, 7-6, 6-3 against Philipp Kohlschreiber. Baker had plenty of opportunities to break Kohlschreiber and take control of the match, but failed to capitalize, leading to a straight sets loss.

Kohlschreiber converted on all three of his break point opportunities, while Baker was an extremely disappointing 0-5 on break points. While Kohlschreiber's serve wasn't accurate on Tuesday, it was effective when he got it in. He tallied 23 aces in the match. Kohlschreiber now awaits the winner of the match between Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Mardy Fish.

In other action, Andy Murray was able to advance past Marin Cilic in straight sets, while David Ferrer made quick work of Juan Martin del Potro in straight sets as well. Ferrer and Murray will face each other in the quarterfinals. Florian Mayer defeated Richard Gasquet in four sets, and moves on to face Novak Djokovic in the next round.
