The women's semifinals are all set for Thursday at the 2012 Championships at Wimbledon. Television coverage will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Just four players remain on the women's draw as the 2012 Championships at Wimbledon enter semifinals action Thursday. Both women's semifinals will take place on Centre Court at 8 a.m. ET (1 p.m. local) on ESPN.
No. 8 Angelique Kerber will take on No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska to start the day. Neither Kerber nor Radwanksa had dropped a set until the quarterfinals. They both struggled against their latest opponents, however. Kerber lost a tiebreak in the second set before taking the third over Sabine Lisicki. Radwanska also dropped her second set before rebounding to beat No. 17 Maria Kirilenko.
As soon as Kerber-Radwanska wraps up, No. 6 Serena Williams will take the court against No. 2 Victoria Azarenka in what may be the most highly anticipated match of the day. Azarenka has looked the part as the prohibitive favorite with Maria Sharapova out, defeating all five of her singles opponents in straight sets. Williams, on the other hand, has gone to three sets twice and her play has been erratic at times.
Thursday's television coverage will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET on ESPN. Users can also watch the action online at WatchESPN.com and on Wimbledon.com.
