The 2012 U.S. Open tennis tournament continues in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., as many marquee names take to the court for their opening-round matches on the second day.
Andy Roddick, Novak Djokovic, and Serena Williams all will take the court in Arthur Ashe Stadium on Tuesday.
Roddick, the 2002 champion and No. 20 seed, faces fellow American Rhyne Williams at 1 pm. Roddick reached the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open a year ago. He has not reached as far as the semifinals since he was the runner-up in 2006.
The second-seeded and defending champion Djokovic is looking to bounce back from disappointing finishes at Wimbledon and the Olympics, where he failed to reach the final. He will face Italian Paolo Lorenzi at 7 p.m.
Williams looks to continue her summer hot streak as she faces Coco Vandeweghe. Williams has won this event three times and reached the final in 2010, her most recent appearance. She will play immediately following the conclusion of the Djokovic match.
All matches will be broadcast on either the Tennis Channel or ESPN2. The full schedule of the US Open's events can be found on the tournament's website. The full television schedule can be found here
