No. 2 Novak Djokovic joined fourth-ranked Ferrer in the semis with a straight-set victory over No. 7 Juan Martin del Potro during the night session, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.

In doubles action, the unranked duo of Russian Ekaterina Makarova and Brazilian Bruno Soares teamed up to capture the mixed doubles title at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, downing No. 4 Kveta Peschke and Marcin Matkowski.

The men's and women's doubles finals were also set on Thursday with No. 2 Bob and Mike Bryan set to take on No. 5 Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek.
