The U.S. Open semifinal match between Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer was suspended on Saturday night due to a severe weather forecast in New York. The match is scheduled to resume tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. ET.
The decision to suspend play came while still in the first set. The four-seed Ferrer of Spain had built a 5-2 first set lead on Djokovic, who is the tournament's two-seed.
Djokovic advanced to the semifinals in straight sets over Juan Martin del Potro. On the other hand, Ferrer survived a fifth-set tiebreaker against Janko Tipsarevic in the quarterfinals. The winner will advance to the finals to face Andy Murray. The Olympic gold medalist defeated Tomas Berdych earlier on Saturday with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 victory.

Men's No. 3 Andy Murray advances to the final after defeating Tomas Berdych in Arthur Ashe Stadium at the 2012 U.S. Open on Saturday afternoon. Murray will seek his first-ever Grand Slam title in his second straight major final of the year. He last made it to the U.S. Open final in 2008.
Berdych jumped out to a lead after taking the first set, 7-5. He used his powerful shot-making ability to get the early advantage, but Murray's superior scrambling allowed him to take over the rest of the match.
Murray recovered quickly to take the next two sets, 6-2, 6-1, to set up a chance to advance to the final in the fourth.
Berdych fell behind a break in his first service game of the fourth, but recovered to break back and keep the set on-serve and force a tiebreak. He immediately jumped ahead a mini-break on the first point.
Murray eventually battled back from 4-1 down to win the set in a tiebreak.
The 2012 Olympic gold medalist, Murray advances to face the winner of Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer for the championship.
