Sony Open Tennis 2013: No. 1 Serena Williams in action on Thursday

The top seeds in the WTA will be in action on Thursday at the 2013 Sony Open.

Day 1 of the 2013 Sony Open in Miami, Fla., is in the books, and Day 2 is just about to begin. For the ATP, the first round will continue, so the top seeds are still a day away as they all earned byes for the opening round.

Day 1 saw Lleyton Hewitt, Nikolay Davydenko and James Blake win their matches.

Guys such as Robin Haase and David Goffin will be in action on Thursday, but for the most part, the WTA is what to watch. Round two of the WTA bracket will get underway and No. 1 Serena Williams will be in action. She's taking on un-seeded Flavia Pennetta.

No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska takes on Su-Wei Hsieh, and No. 9 Caroline Wozniacki will be in action against Karolina Pliskova.

Venus Williams is the No. 19 seed for the tournament, and she'll be taking on Kimiko Date-Krumm of Japan.
