U.S. Open 2013: Schedule, TV coverage and live streaming for Day 1

The Williams sisters, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are in action Monday.

The 2013 U.S. Open is underway from New York, with a host of first-round matches set to take place throughout the day.

The early matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium are highlighted by Rafael Nadal and Venus Williams. Nadal, the No. 2 seed in the men's draw, will take on the United States' Ryan Harrison in the third match of the day on the main court. Prior to that, Williams will face Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium, the No. 12 seed in the women's draw.

Later in the evening, top-seeded Serena Williams will begin her U.S. Open title defense against Italy's Francesca Schiavone. Roger Federer, the No. 7 seed in the men's draw, will then square off against Slovenia's Grega Zemlja.

Coverage has already begun on the Tennis Channel, and that will run until 7 p.m. ET. ESPN2 will begin broadcasting the tournament at 1 p.m., with coverage running for 10 hours until 11 p.m. Fans can also watch online at both ESPN3 and U.S. Open Live.
