French Open 2014 results: Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer advance, Agnieszka Radwanska upset

The majority of the top seeds were able to advance at the French Open on Friday, but there was one major upset.

The 2014 French Open has not been kind to the top-seeded players in the women's draw. No. 1 Serena Williams and No. 2 Li Na lost early in the tournament and No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska joined them on Friday when she lost to Ajla Tomljanovic in straight sets.

Radwanska made it through the first two rounds without issue, winning both of her matches in straight sets. That success did not carry over against Tomljanovic, who controlled the match on her way to a 6-4, 6-4 victory. With Radwanska now out, No. 4 seed Simona Halep is the highest-ranked player left on the women's side. Radwanska wasn't the only top-10 seed to fall as No. 9 Dominika Cibulkova lost in straight sets to No. 19 Samantha Stosur. No. 7 Maria Sharapova had more success, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Paula Ormaechea.

In the men's draw, both No. 4 Roger Federer and No. 2 Novak Djokovic advanced. Federer dropped the second set against No. 31 Dmitry Tursunov, but rebounded to win the third and fourth sets 6-2, 6-4 to take the match. Djokovic also needed four sets, knocking off No. 25 Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4. Federer will face No. 18 Ernests Gulbis in the fourth round while Djokovic will face No. 13 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

No. 6 Tomas Berdych and No. 10 John Isner also advanced to the fourth round. Berdych knocked off No. 27 Roberto Bautista Agut in four sets. Isner had to work a little bit harder, beating No. 17 Tommy Robredo 7-6 (15-13), 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (5-7), 7-5. No. 8 Milos Raonic was pushed to five sets, but beat No. 29 Gilles Simon.
