Wimbledon 2014 scores and results: Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray advance to quarterfinals

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray were both victorious on Monday and will face Marin Cilic and Grigor Dimitrov, respectively, in the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

The fourth round at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships got underway on Monday, though there were still some third-round matches being played. It was an exciting day of matches, as No. 3 Andy Murray defeated No. 20 Kevin Anderson and No. 1 Novak Djokovic ousted No. 14 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Both of the top seeds were victorious, and in straight sets, but they were exciting matches nonetheless. Djokovic and Tsonga were facing off on Centre Court in the final match of the day, as weather forced the other courts to suspend play. Djokovic took the first two sets with ease but was pushed to a tiebreak in the third set; he eventually won, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(5). Murray downed Anderson in consecutive sets with a tiebreak at the end as well, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6(6).

Djokovic and Murray already know who they'll be taking on in the quarterfinals. Djokovic will face No. 26 seed Marin Cilic, who knocked out unseeded Jeremy Chardy on Monday, while Murray will oppose No. 11 Grigor Dimitrov, who bested unseeded Leonardo Mayer.

In other fourth-round action, women's No. 13 seed Eugenie Bouchard of Canada took down No. 25 Alize Cornet of France, 7-6(5), 7-5. But there were a couple third-round matches that needed to be settled due to Saturday's weather delay, as No. 19 Sabine Lisicki of Germany scored a minor upset over No. 11 Ana Ivanovic, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, and men's No. 5 Stan Wawrinka took down Denis Istomin, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4.

The final American man in the tournament, No. 9 seed John Isner, found himself eliminated at the conclusion of his third-round match on Monday. Feliciano Lopez, the No. 19 seed, took down Isner, 6-7(8), 7-6(6), 7-6(3), 7-5.
