Aidan McGeady faces his old club Tuesday, and his new club will need him. Spartak Moscow have been ravaged by injuries ahead of their match against Celtic.
Between Celtic's draw on the first matchday and Spartak Moscow's recent misfortune, the defending Scottish champions and presumed 2012-13 Scottish champions will feel like they have a legitimate shot at second place in Group G. They can go a long way towards accomplishing that goal by avoiding defeat in Moscow on Tuesday.
Spartak incredibly took a 2-1 lead at Camp Nou against Barcelona on Matchday 1, but failed to hold on to that lead in a 3-2 loss. Unfortunately, their man of the match from that surprising performance will not be available on Tuesday. Romulo, the young Brazilian star who joined after the Olympics, is unavailable due to injury. He's one of four Spartak first choice players who will miss out. Celtic, meanwhile, have a full team at their disposal.
The game's biggest storyline is the matchup between Spartak winger Aiden McGeady and his old club, who he helped to three league titles before his move to Spartak. McGeady did not play over the weekend, so he should be fully rested and ready.

Spartak have suffered a couple of devastating injuries in successive weeks. One week after losing Brazilian star midfielder Romulo for the rest of the group stage with a knee injury, goalkeeper Andriy Dykan injured his shoulder. Celtic have recently got all of their players fit, and Neil Lennon has a full side to choose from.
