Goals from Ruben Micael and Alan helped Braga secure three key away points over Galatasaray.
Galatasaray were the aggressor, but Braga were efficient as the Portuguese side went in to Turkey and defeated the Cimbom 2-0. Ruben Micael and Alan did the damage for the visitors.
Galatasaray had all of the ball early in the first half, but failed to really test the Braga keeper Beto. The Portuguese side improved as the half went on and took the lead in the 27th minute as a result of a counter that pretty much came against the run of play. Braga's lone forward Eder rumbled in to the box on the counter and laid the ball back to Ruben Amorim whose shot was parried by Fernando Muslera right in to Ruben Micael's feet. He wasted no time converting the chance before the defense could even react.
Things were much the same in the second half, with Galatasaray having most of the ball but simply not being able to do anything with it. The Turkish side out shot Braga and had a better than 2 to 1 advantage in possession (but we all know how meaningless that can be).
Buark Yilmaz and Aydın Yılmaz (who entered the match in the second half) had the best chances for the home side but were unable to make them count. It was Aydin who came closest when he uncorked a a beautiful shot from 25-yards out that elicited an equally amazing fingertip save. Beto got just enough on the shot to direct it off the post and out of danger.
Alan scored deep in stoppage time to ice the result for Braga.
