Ebenezer Ogundeko commits to Clemson over Syracuse

Ebenezer Ogundeko - Bud Elliott (SB Nation)

Clemson gets a pass rusher.

Ebenezer Ogundeko, a talented defensive end recruit, committed to the Clemson Tigers over the Syracuse Orange Friday during the Under Armour All-America Game. Ogundeko stars for Brooklyn (NY) Jefferson High School. He is a consensus three--star recruit, though some services do award him a four-star rating.

Ogundeko had named Florida as his leader at one point, but some insiders believe his offer from Florida was not legitimate. Clemson's interest was legitimate, however, and Ogundeko jumped at the opportunity to play for the Tigers.

The commit to Clemson was a surprise, as many expected him to choose Syracuse.

Quickness off the edge is Ogundeko's best asset. He has a solid build, but does not always play to his size. Clemson's weight program will need to add size to his 6'3, 225-pound frame.

Clemson needed defensive end commitments in the worst way, and will still look to add another defensive end to its recruiting class.
