New A&M commit Tony Stevens - Wescott Eberts (SB Nation)
The Florida product made his announcement at the 2013 US Army Al-American Bowl.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- 2013 Orlando (FL) Evans wide receiver Tony Stevens committed to the Texas A&M Aggies during the 2nd quarter of the 2013 US Army All-American Bowl.
In recent days, Stevens had become all but a lock to the Aggies after reports that one of his other finalists, Florida St., was no longer recruiting him. The third finalist, Ohio St., never received a visit from the lanky wideout.
And how much has the move to the SEC helped A&M in recruiting in places like Florida? Stevens told SB Nation Recruiting on Tuesday that he'd never paid attention to the Aggies when they were in the Big 12.
A 6-4, 175-pounder ranked as a consensus four-star prospect, Stevens also held offers from Florida, Miami, Georgia, and South Carolina.
The Aggies now have 35 commits in the class, an incredible number that will probably take some losses before Signing Day. Several players are unlikely to qualify and SB Nation Recruiting has been hearing that several current wide receiver commits are also looking around and considering other options with so many other players committed at that position.
