Jon Singleton, the 4th best firstbase propect in the minors!!
we knew he is good, but i personally didn't expect this...
4. Jonathan Singleton, Phillies: When he was drafted out of high school in 2009, Singleton was thought of as a project -- more tools than anything. The Phillies had liked his bat, and it turned out to be very productive right out of the gate -- as Singleton was named the South Atlantic League's Most Outstanding Major League Prospect this past year. It looks like he will be able to hit for both average and plenty of power, especially as he matures. He could make a move to an outfield corner, so he won't be blocked by Ryan Howard down the line.

Reality ain't so bad
With Werth all but gone us fans are worried that the Phils lineup balance is all screwed up. I don't think it's that bad. Let's see....
vs. LHP & RHP
Victorino--S
Polanco--R
Utley--L
Howard--L
Rollins--S
Ibanez--L
Ruiz--R
Brown--L
versus RHP just 2 right bats and against LHP 4 left bats
If Brown is gonna get better vs. LHP he is gonna need AB, the 8 spot is not too bad.
Ruiz and his .300 BA deserves to move up. Rollins and Victorino can be interchangable, but
since Rollins has not shown much consistency 5th should suit him.
What is the public's opinion.....

What Hamels W-L should be.
For a while now I've been wondering what Cole's record could have been. If he got the support from the offense in the close ones(ex. two 1-0 losses vs Mets). My criteria went like this: any game he gave up 2 or less runs against with at least 7 IP and he received a ND or the L. As we all know he is currently 9-10. With this formula he would've been 17-6. What a difference a little help from your friends can do.
P.S. Halladay (16-10) under the same theory should be 19-8.
P.P.S. Oswalt (10-13) should be 16-7, but all except one ND is the Astros fault.
Domonic Brown injured in Futures game
Phillies Triple-A right fielder Domonic Brown, who started and batted cleanup for the United States, left after his first-inning RBI single with tightness in his right hamstring.
Hopefully this is nothing major. Knowing how the hamstrings have been treating the Phils lately this might not be good news. We will just have to wait and see what RAJ will let us know. It looks as if Jayson Werth can breath a little easier now.
Gentleman's Agreement
I heard a little rumor today about a plan B concerning the trade involving Cliff Lee.

why werth should be here beyond 2010
if werth puts up similar numbers or better, ruben will NOT be able to find a replacement. besides, how many players in the league that make 15mil/yr are actually worth that. 30+ homers, 20+ steals, RH bat, plus arm, and All-Star. after pat the bat left the phils put alot on his shoulders to be the new RH power bat and he delivered. i predict 3 - 4 good years left. the phils get 4 mil tickets sold a year. i dont remember it getting cheaper to see the phils. we spent the money, now management show us some love. by the way, why was ownership keeping payroll at 140 mil? i never heard a reason why.
When is enough?
once again lidge receives an opportunity and follows his current trend. not only losing the game but failing to recording a single out. it wasn't the defense this time. his locations were bad, and he is also too predictable this year. maybe he can work on an off speed pitch. i truely want him to regain some type of dominant form like every other phils fan (with newly acquired hypertension). i feel lidge is the only player on the team that can fill this role effectively. i guess he is just in a long slump. (it also looks like hamels had some of what lidge had too.)
