Playoffs are Coming.
Days of Y'Orr comes out with a gem every once and a while. I appreciate the fact that they took the effort to swap a player for a specific character in most circumstances. Jack Edwards as Varys. Haha

Assault - Boychuck, here we go again
Felger talked about this a little while ago The comment section of the Vancouver Sun. Seems Montreal isn't the only city.
Unless this is a great example of sarcasm.
Assault -- BoychuckThe Vancouver Police Department phone number is -- (604) 717-3321
I have requested Boychuk be charged with aggravated assault -- he threw someone into an object -- boards.
That is NOT a hockey play. He put both arms around Raymond and pushed him into the boards.
That's called assault.
Please call (604) 717-3321 and add your voice to the complaint.
Let's get this meathead behind bars where he belongs for Game 7.
Remember, Raymond is in a hospital bed right now getting food through an IV.
Boychuk needs to be booked and charged, finger printed and processed.

Montreal Protest
Well, it was reported on 98.5 yesterday that they were going to have a protest up on Montreal related to Chara's non-suspension and the overall position of head shots and injury in the game.
Happened before the Game against the Capitals, which Montreal lost (hockey gods frowning upon the display?)
Either way, it seems this is going to continue right through to the playoffs, or at least resurface once they start, as it seems the stars a aligned for another first round matchup between the Bruins and Habs.
Kubina fined $60,096.76
Pavel Kubina was fined and suspended 3 games for his elbow to the head on Dave Bolland.
A total of $60,096.76 according to the NHL. So now my question is this: There was plenty of discussion here about fining Zdeno Chara for that hit. Some had stated that they said only $2,500 could be levied on him.
If that is true, why this much larger fine?
I myself thought there would be some sort of financial penalty, in line with NFL fines (such as Merriweather, but that's a WHOLE different story now). This $60k is much more appropriate and what I was expecting at first for Chara.
So, the NHL is being inconsistent? Or, is it really boiling down to the fact that they have been focusing on true head shots. We've seen the retroactive focus on these since Cooke, and here is another punishment coming down. They have gone after blatent hits, and one's less so like Paille's.
Due to this, I do believe there should have been some sort of financial penalty for Z. I also believe that this ruling really seems to be boiling down to the fact that Chara's hit on Max Pacioretty was a rub out, and not a direct head shot.
Thoughts?
AHL - Where the NHL Stashes Its Mistakes?
Reading my Wall Street Journal while on lunch break and lo and behold a picture of Wade Redden sporting the CT Whale jersey catches my eye.
I think at some points Clark makes it seem as if the AHL is one of the 9 Circles of Hell in the way he describes the League. But I suppose that works when the article is about over paid NHL "talent" being sent down instead of kids learning the ropes at a higher level of competition.
As the article states, I wonder if this stash option will be part of the new CBA after September 2012.
With all the talk in the last month and a half of whether or not someone such as Wheels or Ryder could be "stashed" at the Dunk, this is an alright read.
Season Ticket Prices increasing once again.
Well, thank you to The Hockey News for letting me hear about this.
Come to think about it, my season ticket representative did try to get a hold of me last week to re-new. I'm sure this would have been the first thing he'd tell me during out discussion, but who knows.
In the end it will not make a difference to me as to whether or not I would renew the seats, but no one likes spending more. Bruins are wise to do it now though as the team is on a surge of popularity.
I guess I'll still be ahead if I go into Hungry for Hockey seats one more time.
Pat Hickey opinion piece in Montreal Gazette
Well, at least we know by and large Felger is hated by everybody. :)
Still, he says don't generalize, and then can't take the high road.
Some of the comments are priceless.
Flyers getting Nabokov for seventh-round pick
Well that is one less place where Timmy might end up.
