Indy Cornrows Good Bet or Bad Bet

Reasonably-Tenured Poster, First Time Post Creator.

Though it feels a little dirty and violates the fan-gamblers cardinal rule of not betting on your favorite squad I made a little wager today. After the boys smashed on Denver I gave a friend and fan of theirs a hard time. He declared the Pacers would be 30 games under in 3 months and I promptly asked if he would back that up. He wouldn't of course, but today after I celebrated the Sharks win over the Red Wings in his text message inbox the conversation drifted back to the Blue and Gold. After checking accuscore (81% chance of making the playoffs) and confirming that the standings in the East show 7 teams have contended and the others have not(The Pacers already have a 3 game lead on 9th place), I took his bet that Indy wouldn't make the playoffs. Good Bet or Bad Bet?
