I'm rooting for you guys, I really am.
Angels fan here. You guys have a great team, and a consistency that I could only dream of for the Halos. And now you're facing the most hated team in baseball (besides the Red Sox), the New York Yankees.
I don't think I need to explain to you why I don't like the Yankees. So now you guys are facing them in the Fall Classic. You guys took Game 1 on a gem by Cliff Lee, and I'm glad you did.
So my brief message to you guys is: Good luck, and I hope you guys take care of these Yankee clowns. I'll be rooting for you guys all the way this Fall Classic.
Mark Buehrle, Sandy Koufax, Cy Young: What They Have In Common
In light of Mark Buehrle's perfect game, I read this article. What do you think? Do you think he is hands down the most underrated staff ace in baseball?
I do not mean to stir any whatsoevers. I just found this pretty cool. That, and now my name has some significance (Thanks, Mark)
Angels Players Music?
Just a very trivia-ish fanpost; I was just wondering if anybody knew some of the walkup/entrance songs for our Halos?
Brian Fuentes has "For You" by Staind, I think Shields (when he was healthy) came in to "Numb/Encore" by Jay Z ft. Linkin Park, but I'm clueless for the rest.
Anybody know any Halos entrance songs? And if you were a Major Leaguer, what song would you come in to and why?
As for myself, I would come in to "La Villa Strangiato" by Rush because the "powerhouse" riff is very energetic.
Interleague Success: What should we take from it?
I assume many of us have been ecstatic with our recent success. We've mostly been pounding the ball against our most recent opponents: Padres, Giants, Dodgers, Rockies, and so far so good with the D-Backs.
But the Angels have done this before. We are incredibly good when it comes to inter-league play (9-3 this season I believe). Right now we are tied with Texas, who sneaked past the M's and our beloved Halos earlier this season. Even though we had a rough beginning, we're still holding our own in the AL West, through injuries, bullpen troubles, and offensive slumps.
Pretty soon, we're going to be done with inter-league Play. I don't want to sound like a nay-sayer in light of a great victory, but when we go back to playing teams from the AL, can we safely say that we are now an improved team? Once we no longer face the NL, will our weaknesses from earlier this season flare up once again? I hope they won't.
Anyway, just a curious question: How do you guys think we should translate this success? What should we take from these series against the NL, if anything at all?
