Lifelong Tigers Fan who is passionate about the game but disillusioned with MLB and the way it is run. Some of my key positions
• A relief pitcher who blows a save (or fails to protect a lead) should never, ever, get credit for the win - the starter should still get it.
• Plenty of blame to go around for the steroid mess but the lion's share has to go to Bud Selig and the owners. Corollary: Bonds didn’t damage MLB! Selig did!
• No one has ever put a gun to an owner's head and forced him/her to offer an outrageous salary. The economics of the game are not going to change until we stop paying their high ticket prices
• Last but not least: Let's change the rules so that a batter's first walk in a game is to 1st; but each susequent walk adds a base. Thus the second walk goes to 2nd base; the thrid walk to 3rd base and so on. Make it expensive to always pitch around Cabrera and like players. It adds exciting strategy to the game.
