Thanks to SING, 49ers are progressing to be MEN amongst boys!
I am def guilty of putting all my eggs in the Singletary basket but at the same time I don't feel like its a RISK! The bigger risk for me is not having faith in my coach.
Look, this is how I explain it to my friends that can't understand how die hard I am for my 9ers and how die hard I am for sing: If you had 2 teams, One was filled with a roster of superstars with there own agenda's, and the other was filled with a couple pro-bowlers but overall, average players yet their edge was unity who would you rather have. I believe the passion, cohesion, unity and the overall system that SING has these players buying into is the key to this season. I feel like a unified team can go much further. To have a guy who's priority is to first teach his players to become men "....I want to teach these guys to be men before I teach them anything about football" (from his speech at State of the franchise) is AMAZING! It only makes sense, if your players are men, then they play their role and take on responsibility and they understand the contributions they must make to a team. For someone to not be a man, they are on their own agenda, whining about not getting paid and giving up when they are hurt instead of playing through it to show their team that they are fully vested. 49ers are progressing to men amongst boys!
I will be the first to admit I was upset when i saw sing come in at the end of last season and discipline Davis ( I was like "who does this guy think he is, he hasn't even been coach for a week?"), but after assessing the situation and watching how he dealt with/communicated with/constructively criticised the rest of the team I was like, WOW, this guy might actually be onto something. Not to mention, looking back he had to set the bar for expectations. I am so excited to see what he can do when he has a full season to do things HIS way.
With his approach to dealing with these players and having them buy into the system fully, I don't see how we can NOT have a successful year. I'd personally much rather have a team that plays as one and has each others back, than a team divided. Look at previous teams, history speaks for itself..........
Hello, what about Rey Maualuga or Brian O-sak-po?
I mean it's clear that we have a lot of needs but WE ARE on the verge of getting our *ish tight, huge credit due to COACH. But in all these blogs I'm not seeing any names like Maualuga or Orakpo? Wahts up with that?
I know Orakpo may not make it to #10 but if he does wouldn't we want to snatch him up? I mean I believe no matter what players we get, behind COACHES direction, our defense should strike fear in the hearts of at least the other teams in the NFC west. Orakpo would be a sick addition and instead of all this talk about moving players around, we could slap on the end of the d-line and finally have a pass-rushing threat. He can also play OLB. Him and willis together with Takeo in the middle......as CLAY DAVIS would say.........SHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII****************
Also, another option that def looks like he'll be around for our pick is Maualuga. This kid is gonna be a beast wherever he goes. If he's available I feel like there's no way we can pass on him. He would also be a perfect fit if we don't resign SPIKES.
All this being said, we've have to take care of our NT needs through free agency but we have the cap space. Also we have two young possibly great recievers, to draft another who we THINK would be a playmaker is a gamble. Once again, we have the cap space, why not just go buy a playmaker who we know is proven and can push/lead the younger guys we have?
I know safety is also an issue. ROMAN BE GONE!!!! To bad Taylor Mays is staying at USC for th 2009 season. BUt we do have goldson and we can also draft for that position!
We really need to focus on getting the best bang for our buck at #10 instead of trying to move players around to attempt a quick patch.
