Ralph Lawler The ankle sprain caused the bone Bruise and that bruise on a weight-bearing part of the bone is what is making this take so long. The hope is still to get him back on the court in February.

B+ Los Angeles Clippers
Blake Griffin has relentlessly gotten better in his rookie season. From October to January, all of his major categories -- minutes, points, rebounds and assists -- have steadily improved each month. In his first eight January games, he is averaging 27.8 points, 13.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Not coincidentally, the Clippers have risen with him, posting months of 0-3, 3-12, 7-8 and 6-2. The Rookie of the Year lock isn't a one-man team, either. Eric Gordon leads the Clippers with 23.8 points a game. Baron Davis has shelved the selfishness that can infect his game and is increasingly looking to enable Griffin and Gordon in half-court sets. DeAndre Jordan is finding his niche as a rim protector. Ryan Gomes is a savvy glue guy. Eric Bledsoe and Al-Farouq Aminu are precocious rookies who didn't embarrass themselves as starters when injuries hit the team earlier this year and deserve their rotation minutes now. And center Chris Kaman, an All-Star last season, should be back sometime during the second half of the season. L.A. will be tested with 10 consecutive road games starting before and finishing after the All-Star break, but Clippers jokes are on hold in 2011.Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/britt_robson/01/19/midseason.grades/index.html#ixzz1BuCA0pTg

BleacherReport on Blake
If you haven’t watched Blake Griffin play this season, do yourself a favor and immediately open up a new tab and watch his highlights.
Through only 29 career games, Griffin has established himself as one of the best forwards in the league and hands-down the most exciting player in basketball. Most people will note his unbelievable strength and athleticism, but there is so much more to Griffin than his physical gifts.
Blake Griffin has a good-looking release on his shot, despite the fact that he has struggled on free throws all season long. He has proven to be an above-average passer with a high basketball IQ, doling out 3.2 assists per game in his first season.
The top overall pick in 2009 is graceful, agile and has a passion for the game. Perhaps that’s why so few of us are shocked when Griffin dominates game in, game out.
On the year the 6’10” forward has delivered thunderous dunk after thunderous dunk en route to averages of 21 and 12. The fact that the Clippers are 8-21 is the main reason Griffin is not ranked higher.

Stephen Jackson to the Bobcats
Thanks to Citizen 69Knicks for posting this. At least now we can stop talking about Jackson to the Clippers. I don't understand what Charlotte is doing there. They didn't give up much, but why would you take on that player, that contract? Steve
Ralph's take on Blake
Copied from Ralph's Facebook page
Michael Jordan broke a leg early in his 2nd season and played only 14 games. Kobe Bryant had injury problems and played less than 70-games as a result 4 times early in his career. He's gone from Injury prone to Ironman. Blake is going to be OK. ...This might hurt his ROY chances, but if he plays the final 60 he might still get in that hunt

A different take on our fate

Here's a little taste of what is coming.
My clipper moment
This will be short.
After spending about a half an hour writing up my Clipper moment(s).
And feeling good about what I wrote......... some how the post is gone................. vanished into thin air.
I think this typifies my experience as a Clipper fan as well as anything I wrote.
I remain frustrated, but hopeful a state I've lived in each BBall season since 1984.
