Who will be an Angel next season?

Who are the Angels going to resign?  Chone, Abreu, Lackey, Big Daddy?  My 5 year old will be crushed if we lose no. 27.  I'd personally like to keep Vlad as our DH and allow him retire a Halo and hopes goes to Cooperstown with a Halo.

Will we be able to pick up more BP help?  Will Shieldsy ever be the same.  Will Arrendondo see action in 2010?  DO we have to keep Fuentes?

Scoic, Tony and Arte will take good care of us, but what do other Halo fans think?

Update on KCOP Angels broadcasts

Thank you to all of you Halo fans who have  let the Angels management know of their dissatisfaction with KCOP.   For those of you who haven't had the chance, please join us in contacting the Angels at (888) 796-HALO to request that we drop KCOP as our affiliate for next season.

Every call is important.  We need Arte to know that we desire a reliable affiliate able to broadcast into our entire local network.  Thanks!

Ask the Angels to drop KCOP

For many reasons listed on this blog, the overwhelming consensus is that the Angels should drop KCOP as their affiliate.  Halo fans must let the Angels management know of their dissatisfaction and demand that they go back to KCAL or find some other station that will be able to offer first rate and reliable broadcasts to all of the Halos local fans, including the Santa Barbara area.

Please join us in contacting the Angels at (888) 796-HALO to request that we drop KCOP as our affiliate for next season.

Are KCOP's days numbered as an Angels affiliate?

It seems as if KCOP 13 is a poor choice as an Angels affiliate for many reasons previously stated on this board.  The rumor I have heard is that KCOP will not carry Angels games next year.  It seems that this may potentially solve many out of town issues.

Does anyone have insight into who may be carrying the non-FSN games next year?  KCAL would be my first choice.  Any other insight?

Go Halos!

More about the Angels games in Santa Barbara

Now that we know that KEYT is responsible for keeping 50 Angels games off the air in Santa Barbara, it is time to be speak out.

My friends suggest that we email the local paper at voices@newspress.com to voice our disappointment.  If you include your name, address and phone number your concerns will be printed and KEYT will know that we are seriously upset about their choice to keep the Angels off the airwaves.  KEYT claims that the Angels and FSN are to blame, but we now know otherwise.

Help get the Halos back on TV in Santa Barbara

Dear Halo Fans:

We still do not receive the KCOP Angels broadcasts in Santa Barbara and we need your help.

Please need to lobby KCOP's Director of Programming, John Frenzel, to work with KEYT in Santa Barbara to show these games again.

If you would be willing to write a letter, this would be the best.  Next best would be to call KCOP and ask for John Frenzel (310-584-2000) and politely ask him to help us out.  The contact info is:

John Frenzel at:

KCOP My13
1999 South Bundy Drive
Los Angeles CA 90025

Your Halo brothers in Santa Barbara thank you.  We are blacked out from all PPV and satellite options - so we need this to work out,

Feeling Blue in Santa Barbara

We still don't have our Halos back, but A big thank you to everyone who has lobbied to have the KCOP broadcasts back on the air in Santa Barbara.  Our local media outlets should now be keenly aware of the issue, now they will wait to see if we can maintain our rally cry.  We need to be persistent.

Please continue to call KEYT and ask for the general manager Cathy Jacquemin and tell her that you want their new station MyRTN to carry Angels games like their sister station KCOP.  KEYT's number is 805-882-3933.

Please also call the Angels at (888) 796-HALO so that they understand how much we want our Angels back on the air.  Since Arte is a marketing wiz, I feel confident that once he is aware of the problem he will help to make it right.

Rumor has it that the Santa Barbara media decision makers are fans of that Blue team and this is a ploy to retake control over our media market.  I can't see Arte being outsmarted by McCourt when it comes to media and advertising.

In Arte we trust! Go Halos!  Come back to Santa Barbara!

Update about bringing Angels back on the air in Santa Barbara

Thank you so much to all of you who have been calling Cox Cable.  You are having an impact.  Please continue and call again!  You do not need to live in SB, you just need to call and ask them to submit a formal request that Cox carry Angels games.  The number for Cox is 805 683-6651.

Then. please call KEYT and ask for the general manager Cathy Jacquemin and tell her that you want their new station My13 to carry Angels games like their sister station KCOP. KEYT's number is 805-882-3933.

The reason the Angels are off the air in SB, is that KEYT bought a sister franchise to KCOP and decided it was not worth it to show the games.  Because of FCC rules, KCOP cannot be shown in the same market as the new My13.  It is however, possible for KEYT to change their mind and broadcast the Angels or allow another local station to negotiate with Fox to broadcast the Angels exclusively in the Santa Barbara market.

Finally, please call the Angels at (888) 796-HALO and BEG, BEG, BEG  them to intervene to have their games shown in SB again.  The Angels have the ability to make this happen, but unless they are willing to intervene it probably won't happen.

Thank you for helping out your Halo brothers up North...  We need a Rally Monkey!

Go Halos!

Attention Santa Barbara Halo Fans who want the Angels back on TV

Cox Cable in Santa Barbara told me that if enough Angels fans call Cox to request that the KCOP broadcasts be shown on another local Cox station, that they would be willing to start showing them again.  It turns out the the management group at KEYT has decided to not show the games on their new Ch 13 station.

I ask that all Angels fans join their Santa Barbara Halo brothers to help get the Angels back on the air.

Please call Cox customer service as often as you can at:

805 683-6651

Go Halos!
