LOL... Dwight hates the Lakers so much, he chose to stay in Orlando over playing for them!

Clips Nation How about some love for the Bakersfield Jam?

The Jam, our D-League affiliate (shared with the Raptors and Suns), are 24-17 and in playoff position in the D-League's West Conference. They're also on a 3-game winning streak right now, including a resounding 134-110 victory over a decent Rio Grande Valley Vipers team. Center Brian Butch joined the team recently and just got named the D-League Co-Performer of the Week, with back-to-back double doubles against the Vipers. Two Jam games will be streamed live on SportingNews.com soon - one against the Tulsa 66ers in Tulsa (the Thunder's affiliate) on March 27th, and the other against the Dakota Wizards (the Warriors' affiliate) in Bismarck on April 2nd.

Would he be worth going after? I know his reputation is at an all-time low, but to be fair, the Knicks are completely dysfunctional. Melo was at his best with Chauncey (an elite veteran PG) passing to him in Denver. Maybe he could return to form with CP3 passing to him now?

...kind of like what's already being done in soccer and the WNBA.

I personally detest the idea, but not because of the usual hysterical rantings and ravings of "sports are too commercial these days" and "they're all money-grubbing whores". I just don't like it because, no matter how they try to force the ads in, it would look ridiculous. I don't like the idea of the baseball-style scripts that have seen the Clippers through the lowest of lows and the highest of highs being replaced by Kia's ugly logo, for example.

Yet Jimmy thinks scouting is vastly overrated. "Evaluating basketball talent is not too difficult," he says. "If you grabbed 10 fans out of a bar and asked them to rate prospects, their opinions would be pretty much identical to those of the pro scouts."

Wow.

If CP3 and Griffin end up leaving because of bad PR moves like this, I am through being a Clippers fan.

There's no truth to the rumor that every episode is just a "highlight" reel of his time on the Clippers.

"Now, there is talk that James is less-than-thrilled with certain aspects of the Heat organization. Sources in Miami say that while James still thoroughly enjoys playing alongside fellow stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, he doesn’t particularly care for the heavy-handed and disciplined style of team president Pat Riley.

James can opt out of his contract at the end of the 2013-14 season, and speculation is he will strongly consider it if Riley remains in his current role."

That would be CRAZY! Maybe this time around, he could actually sign with the Clippers instead of just teasing us.

"Williams likes Los Angeles and lives in nearby San Diego during the offseason. Before the season began, the three teams on his wish list were New Jersey, Dallas and the Los Angeles Clippers, according to sources."

Obviously, it's a moot point now that we have CP3, but it's still nice to finally get confirmation on all those D-Will rumors from last year.

...if "the right situation comes along". Hard to imagine Sloan thinking that Stockton/Malone 2.0 isn't the "right situation" for him.

Clips Nation Chris Paul to anyone but the Lakers, PLEASE!

Things aren't looking good for us anymore in the Chris Paul sweepstakes, as Olshey's lowballing tactics seem to have backfired, but then again, the CP3 trade rumors seem to change every five minutes. I can handle missing out on him, provided he does NOT go to the Lakers. I am sick and tired of them being handed every superstar at just the perfect time. Are their trade assets really better than ours? Come on.

And think about the message it would send to this team, especially Griffin, if after all this time being heavily in the CP3 mix, we stand pat and allow him to get traded to the Lakers. We would back up every single media cliche - too cheap, not willing to build a winner, content to be #2 in LA, etc. If we don't want to risk losing Griffin, we need to at least look like we're seriously trying to get Paul, instead of making everyone but the bench scrubs off-limits.

Kellen doesn't even get an INVITE to New York? Are you kidding me?

Screw you too, ESPN.

Boise State 74, Indiana State 65

Final score. Broncos move to 6-1 on the year.

That's good news for us. Firstly, it pretty much removes one of our major competitors for CP3. Secondly, it shows that the talent we have now makes us a more attractive landing spot than even franchises like the Celtics that have always had success.

"The New Jersey Nets are prepared to offer a trade package featuring Brook Lopez and two future first-round picks to acquire Dwight Howard before the Orlando Magic center becomes a free agent in July 2012, according to sources close to the situation. The New Jersey Nets are prepared to offer a trade package featuring Brook Lopez and two future first-round picks to acquire Dwight Howard before the Orlando Magic center becomes a free agent in July 2012, according to sources close to the situation."

"The Los Angeles Lakers are also expected to eventually lodge their own trade bid for Howard -- featuring some combination of Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom"

But the best part of the article is...

"The Los Angeles Clippers are also regarded as a legit contender Howard, despite the franchise's history under owner Donald Sterling, because they'll have cap space and could pair him with rising star Blake Griffin."

One Bronco Nation Under God The Mountain West Sucks

After nothing went our way this week (just like last year), and seeing the bleak predictions of us having to play a mediocre 8-4 Louisiana Tech team in the Poinsettia Bowl, I have come to one conclusion: we have got to get out of this crap conference.  Why?

Somehow, we move down two spots despite winning pretty handily. Thankfully, the AP poll doesn't determine anything BCS-wise.

One Bronco Nation Under God The Future

I know this loss sucks.  It really does.  To lose in the same painful fashion in back to back years is really depressing.  And lord knows, I was ripping mad at Goodale and the secondary during and after the game.  But now that I've calmed down, I've realized that the future is still bright for this program, despite what the haters and Boise State-bashing media are going to say for the rest of the season.

This is HUGE for our chances at getting into the Big 12. I never thought I'd ever be thrilled at the loathsome SEC expanding.

Mavs Moneyball From a Clippers fan...

Congrats, Mavs fans! As a Clippers fan all my life, I know all about waiting and waiting, about adversity, about having to read the same old insults over and over again from the media (for you, it was "softness" and "choking," for us, it's Sterling and failure).  I long for the day when we too can celebrate a championship and an end to decades of suffering.

Regardless, it was your time to shine, and the Mavericks deserve it.  Well done, and hopefully you can keep the dominance going.

Well guys, you'd better hope that the Lakers don't hire Dunleavy. Having suffered through several years of him as coach AND GM, he is just brutal.
