I've got a dynasty league that I'm trying to get started and need a handful more teams to fill it out. If you're interested in joining a fantasy baseball league (with a very good minor league representation), message me and I'll send you the invite.

It's not free...but is very reasonable and looks like it will be a fun league (run by Fangraphs). The league will be playing the 'Old School' game type.

Right now the draft is scheduled for the 26th, but we can move it around to accommodate everyone.

You can check out OttoNeu at the link

Seeking Dynasty league help

I have a general question for the Dynasty league experts out here. I'd like to start a Dynasty league with a group of friends and colleagues...but we want to have a minor league draft portion of it, obviously to build the team for the future. From your experiences, what league/website is the best?

Lone Star Ball Julio Borbon and S-head Boras

Just saw this and didn't know if it had already been put up here or not...an article about Julio Borbon and possible troubles he'd be in b/c of his contract and Boras, depending on how the Pedro Alvarez situation falls out.

http://www.bucsdugout.com/2008/8/28/602820/breaking-down-the-pedro-al

http://community.post-gazette.com/blogs/pbc/archive/2008/08/27/main-story-arbiter-to-decide-alvarez-s-fate.aspx

"Kovacevic reports that another Boras client, Rangers minor leaguer Julio Borbon (mistakenly named "Pedro Borbon" in the article) received an extension in last year's draft. Would that contract have to be voided as well, and all the bonus money returned? I don't think Borbon, who hasn't been terribly exciting this year, would appreciate that very much. Basically, he's a 22-year-old outfield prospect in Class AA who has no plate discipline and no power but is really fast. Next year, he'd be 23 if he re-entered the draft. Think anyone would pony up a big league contract for him? It's possible, but if I were him I might worry about it."

Lone Star Ball Trading for a SP

MLBTR has a post up about the SP market...

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/07/the-starting-pi.html#comments

So, who on the list would you want the Rangers to go for?  Some rental?  Someone locked up for a bit?

Me...I would go for someone locked up (as probably most people here).  I like Greinke, Oswalt, Reyes, Burnett (if you can buy out his opt-out), Bailey, and Arroyo (from that list).

I wouldn't trade a huge haul for any of these excetp Greinke....

Lone Star Ball Prospect: Neftali Feliz

Over at Minor League Ball...Neftali will be the feature "Prospect" on Monday.

http://www.minorleagueball.com/

Should be good...considering some were saying he was overrated before the season...and he's looking utterly dominant.

Lone Star Ball Julio Borbon comparison

Thanks to Hindman for this...it's an interesting look.

Borbon = Carl Crawford (possibly) ?  I'll talke it!  Doesn't strike out much, tons of speed to steal 50 bases, incredible CF defense, a little pop.  If he can just work on his BB ratio a little...he'd be a nice piece in 2010.

I'll pass on Corey Patterson though...

LF - Murphy/Boggs, CF - Borbon, RF - Hamilton (Byrd/JMJ in there somewhere)...

Lone Star Ball Matt Holliday available?

Per MLBTR and Ken Rosenthal...Matt Holliday could become available in a "Tex" type of trade (1 year+ left on the contract), if the Rockies continue to struggle...

With the way the Rangers are playing...would you trade prospects for him and sign him long-term???

Me...I would definitely!  An outfield of Holliday in LF, Hamilton in CF, and Bradley in RF/DH, with Murphy rotating...pretty nice sounding and definitely would help in 09, 10, and 11...

Lone Star Ball Hafner available?

So, saw some talk today up on mlbtraderumors.com about the possibility that Travis Hafner could be available for trade, that his contract is not favorable to them anymore, that his mechanics are all jacked up...

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/

http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080511/SPORTS01/805110340/1108/SPORTS01

Would you trade for him?  I would...but only at the right price.  I think Cleveland might do it for a nice prospect and eating his contract...I don't mind eating the contract to see if he can work with Rudy to get his timing back.

So...would you trade? What would you trade (prospect or on ML club)?
