Cougar and local Orthopaedic surgeon, Ed Tingstad, to travel to Haiti
EDIT NUSS: Bumped because this is an awesome cause you should support if you have the means. Make it happen!
Hello Fellow Cougs!
I thought this story would be of interest to the Cougar community. As you know, the people of Haiti continue to suffer and have tremendous medical needs in the aftermath of the tragic earthquake. Ed Tingstad, who played for the Cougar football team in the 1980s (and now is a team doctor and local surgeon), is heading down to lend a hand on Februrary 24th. His expertise in orthopaedics is greatly needed. ProFormance Physical Therapy and Ed's wife, Laura, are leading a fundraising effort to buy medical supplies for Ed's trip. Ed Schweitzer (of Schweitzer Engineering) is donating his private jet to fly Ed and the supplies to Colorado where they will be picked up by government aircraft. Wouldn't it be great if the Cougar Community could donate enough funds to fill up the plane with medical supplies?
I know this is short notice, but if you live in the Pullman area (or could put a check in the mail soon), there is a charity donation account set up at the Pullman AmericanWest Bank , or you can drop off a donation at ProFormance Physical Therapy on Grand Avenue in Pullman. Please make checks out to: Proformance Physical Therapy: Haiti Relief Fund. The clinics address is: 1225 South Grand Avenue, Ste B, Pullman, WA, 99163. 100% of the donations will be used to purchase medical supplies. Because they are not a non-profit entity, these donations are not tax deductible. If you have any questions, please call Laura at (509) 432-6575. Thanks and go Cougs!!
