Arrowhead Pride Could Ndamukong Suh be a Nose Tackle in a 3-4?

If you watched the Big 12 Championship game or any Nebraska game this year them you know that Ndamukong Suh is just a beast of a man and is successful in beating multiple double and triple teams and is a huge asset in both run and pass.  So could Suh be our pick this next draft and our final piece to a 3-4 defense?

Arrowhead Pride Pioli Has To Have Something Up His Sleeve!

The reason I say this is because you dont release your starting RT and a backup tackle unless you have a trade in the mix!

Arrowhead Pride Pioli is making the same moves as Parcells did in 08!

The Kansa City Chiefs are starting to look alot like the 2008 Miami Dolphins and not just because of the connections of Pioli and Parcells and Zac Thomas or is it.  Lets look at some of the simalarities between the two teams.

At the end of the 2007 season the Dolphins were a mess with just winning 1 game that season owner Wayne Huizenga had no other choice but to clean house.  But he couldnt rebuild alone so he hired the best man for the job Bill Parcells.  Parcells message was clear he would answer to Huizenga and every one else would answer to him.

Parcells quickly hired Tony Sparano when he became avaliable after the Cowboys season was over.  After Parcells and Sparano made their final coaching decision the turned to their roster and released and traded their two most recognized and most valuable players in Jason Taylor and Zac Thomas.

Then came the 2008 NFL draft Parcells chose Jake long 1st overall to solidify the o-line the he got his 3-4 ends in Merling and Langford.

Instead of just cutting Ricky William Parcells lit a charge in Williams (and we all seen how that worked out last year.)

Parcells then got the final piece that help them make the surprised playoff run the went out and got a new QB in Chad Penington.

After all the pieces were in play then came the scheme and the coaching staffs first priority was to stop the run using the 3-4 D.

And finally what were all the experts saying: The Dolphins dont have enough firepower to compete in the AFC East and look for them to finish fourth in the division.  Also the 2008 power ranking #31!

Dosnt this all sound so familiar to us Chief fans.  I think you can take all the Dolphins names out and put in Chief players.  This is just way to similar and I think we are going to be a completely turned around team from the 2008 season maybe 9-7 with 1 playoff win aginst the Texans!

Arrowhead Pride Glenn Dorsey Is Not A Bust!

I dont know were people keep coming up with this stuff that Glenn Dorsey is a bust because he is far from that.  Maybe its because he was so extraordinary in college but you have to remember that most rookies have a hard time ajusting to the NFL their first season.

If you look at the 2008 draft there are only three players that I can think of that had just a super year Matt Ryan, Jerod Mayo and Glenn Dorsey.  The reason I say Glenn Dorsey is if you look at his rookie stats he was by far more productive then some of the top D tackles in the game today as rookies:

Albert Haynesworth= 16 GMS  30 tackles 1 sack

Haloti Ngata= 16 GMS 31 tackles 1 sack

Darnell Dockett 15 GMS 39 tackles 3.5 sacks

Glenn Dorsey= 16 GMS 46 tackles 1 sack

To me Dorsey had a super year for a rookie NFL tackle and especially for there being no talent around him.

Now the reason I only compared Dorsey to Haynesworth, Dockett and Ngata is  because Haynesworth is the best in the game today at the position and Dockett and Ngata is becaues the are the best in the 4-3 under D.

In the 4-3 under Dorsey will be able to show case much more of his talent and be abel to rush the passer instead of taking on double teams all game and we will see much more production from him.  Just like you see Dockett and Ngata wrecking havoc on opposing teams.

Im going to say it now if Dorsey stays healthy, dosent get traded and in the 4-3 under Doresy will have 57 tackles and 8 sacks, because of Tyson Jackson and Dorsey will be more comfortable playin the game!

So Pioli DONT TRADE DORSEY he is on his way to being the next BIG THING!

Arrowhead Pride Cassel just got a new deal

6 year 36 million dollaer deal! What does this mean for draft day maybe absorb a big contract maybe dorsey, peppers or Bolbin.  Its starting to get good!

We should trade down with Seattle get thier second take Jackson at 4 and trade Waters for Boldin and the 2010 second.

This would be a sick day 1:

Jackson

Cassel

Vrabel

Boldin this would be pretty awesome!

That is 75 words WHOO!

Ok not 75 yet but it is now!

Arrowhead Pride Waters Value Is At An All Time High!

With the trade that sent Buffalos pro bowl left tackel to Philly for a first round pick and Buffalos lack of sighning any of thier guards to a contract exstension it has left the cupboard for offensive lineman pretty bare in Buffalo!

I think now more than every Buffalo might be very interested in our very own pro bowl guard Brian Waters.  There was a rumors early in free agency that Buffalo was willing to give a third and a fifth to land the pro bowl guard.  But now with the departure of Jason Peters to Philly the Bills might be desperate to fill their offensive line and what better way to teach thier new rookie left tackle much to the way Waters taught Branden Albert last year the to go all out for Waters.

Maybe the 28 th pick would be a little to rich for Waters services but if maybe the could acquire a defensive end to help improve their pass rush maybe then the 28th overall pick might not seem to high for Waters and maybe Tamba Hali!

Last season the Bills only recorded a measly twenty four sacks with the leading sacker only having the less than impressive number of four.  But to their credit their sack master in Aaron Schobel was down with an injury for most of the season.  But with a healthy Schobel to push Hali much like Jared Allen did their pass rush could be more than good to make another surprise push at a playoff run and with the addition of T.O. the Bills will have a win now mentality.  With that being said the 28th overall pick for a pro bowl guard in Brian Waters and a good defensive end in Hali that would be a good trade for both teams.  The could land Andre Smith or Micheal Oher to play left tackle and then with number twenty eight the will fill two more holes guard and a pass rusher that would be a pretty good round for the Bills.

There are two more trades I would like to see come draft day.  One being a trade that would send Tony G. to the Alata Falcons for a second round pick.  If we could get the second round pick and maybe a fourth or a fifth I say do it.  It would help both teams out the Falcons would have an unstoppable offense and Matty Ice would have the reliable target he needs to take his game to the next level.  While this would hurt Chiefs Nation with the loss of Tony G. it could go along way towardes rebuilding either our o-line or our pass rush.

The next trade involves the number three pick.  With Seattle stating the will take Sanchez if he is there at number four alot of teams will be calling to move up to get him.  There is a rumor that Cleveland has contacted the Chief about moving up if we could get number five and their first second rounder number thirty six this would be an awesome trade and we would still be in the top five.

So if these trade were to happen we would have:

#5 ( trade down with Cleveland) = Eugene Monroe

#28 ( From Buffalo for Waters and Hali) = Conor Barwin

#36( Trade down with Cleveland) = Alex Mac

#55 ( From Atlanta for Tony G.) = Duke Robinson

These picks would go along way to helping us win some games.   So Pioli give me a call on draft day if you need some help with this!!!!

Arrowhead Pride The Way To Win The AFC West!

Trading down is starting to look really good for the Chiefs and with a few trades we could be a very scary team in 2009. I’m not going to go crazy and start trading for Boldin or Edwards I’m going after picks and one particular veteran that could improve our defense for years.

Trade # 1 = Trade # 3 to Denver for #12, #18 and one of their first next year. You might be thinking WTF? But this makes to much sense for us we get two first round picks to play with while Denver downgrades their team by missing out on two players that could turn around their D and also by tying up a lot of money in a young QB! Wouldn’t you want to face Sanchez instead of Tyson Jackson and Magula I know I would and as far as getting a first next year this can happen if a team wants and needs a player bad enough the draft chart goes out the window!

Trade # 2 = Trade Tony G. to the Falcons for the second rounder and a fourth, these pick could go along way towards fixing our O-line.

Trade #3 = make a package of Brian Waters and Hali and trade them to Buffalo for a third and a fifth or a second. Lets face it Hali sucks and doesn’t fit into our new D and Brian Waters is a fat crybaby that needs to learn he gets paid to play football not for anything else, so shut you’re mouth and play football FATTY!

Trade # 4 = Trade # 18 to Carolina for Peppers. This makes to much sense we need a pass rusher and Carolina has a very talented one that wants to be traded to a 3-4 team and Carolina could use # 18 on a QB or LB so lets do it!

So on draft day at # 12 we select Tyson Jackson to man the D-line and sure up the defense with his pass rushing abilities and the arrival of Peppers this D just done a complete 360. Going into the draft our biggest need was a pass rush and I think mission would be accomplished with these two!

Our new 3-4 d would look a lot different with Peppers coming off the corner and think how much Dorsey, Tank, Jackson and McBride could benefit from this talented end not just by improving their play but by teaching them the game thru his technique. So this is how we would line up:

Dorsey Tank Jackson

DJ Thomas Vrabel Peppers

And keep our secondary the same. That just looks bad ass!

Arrowhead Pride Is Curry A Smoke Screen For us to Take Monroe?

Is Curry a some screen for us to take Monroe ? In my opinion yes he is. If you look at mock drafts about everyone has Curry going to the Chiefs at # 3 and all the teams in the market for a LB know this to making Curry’s value off the charts and a trade down likely brewing!

There have been a lot of talks about the Chiefs not needing a left tackle and that drafting Monroe or Jason Smith would only be upgrading the guard or right tackle position. To me those points are not true by drafting Monroe you’re getting the best pass blocker in the draft so with that being said you’re not only upgrading the entire line by adding another bookend tackle you also upgrading Matt Cassel our 14 million dollar investment by protecting his blind side. Don’t get me wrong I thought Brandon Albert done a phenomenal job at left tackle but by adding Monroe this offensive line would be dominate like the days of old. Also with Pioli, Haley and Virginia’s head coach Al Groh all working together in the Jets organization the all three should be very close so if Groh thinks Monroe is one of the best let tackle prospects he has every seen don’t you think he would pass that on to two of his friends that happen to be on the same team and both being new to the experience so what better way to help them succeed then by pointing them to the best left tackle in the draft!

With a lot of teams in the top 5 - 12 needing a LB to complete their defense a trade down might just happen. For Pioli to help the Chiefs rebuild he might be looking at a trade down with a team like Seattle or Cleveland to allow them to take the best defensive player in the draft but not getting to far away from the best offensive player in the draft in Eugene Monroe. If we could make the trade down with one of those teams and pick up a second round pick and still get Monroe at #4 or #5 I would be all for it!

Another thing that makes me think Curry is a smoke screen is all the late first early second round players that have been interviewing with the Chiefs and the comments that were made to Connor Barwin and with a team like Philly wanting to move up to take a player like Monroe maybe we are going to be using Monroe as a smoke screen to them if we could get their # 21 and # 28 and a second rounder I would be all for that two. But even though we would be losing out on an extreme talent in Monroe and Curry the addition of the three extra players would be an extreme help to fix this struggling team.

So with a trade down with Cleveland or Seattle were we got the fourth or fifth pick and a second rounder I would take Monroe and the best pass rusher in the second in Sintim or Barwin. And with a trade down with Philly at #21 Magula or best pass rusher available and at #28 RT Britton and with second round pick Mack/Unger if their or Kruger allowing us to fill more holes.

So what ever Pioli does I think I will be happy with and I think Curry is being used as a smoke screen to get what Pioli wants!

Arrowhead Pride After Watching This We Gotta Take Curry At # 3

I was all for drafting Monroe or Smith but after watching this YouTube LB Aaron Curry Highlights Wake Forest 2008 we have to take Curry at # 3.

In these highlights all the questions I had are answered and those questions were:

# 1 Can he even rush the passer ? Yes in these highlights you will see him run right by highly ranked Mick Oher. It also looks like every time he blitzes he causes a big play which is something I think our young D could use a big time playmaker.

# 2 How fast is he ? Well it shows him tracking down Darrius Hayward - Bay  on a pass plays stopping him for a short gain so he has to be pretty damn fast also CJ Spiller the little scat back, Curry didn’t seem to get caught up in Spillers shiftiness and dropped him in the open field .

# 3 Can he cover ? Yes like I said above he was covering Bay so yes he can cover. He also seems to have a nose for the ball either tipping it our causing an interception and also Curry seems to be awesome on screen plays, which we got killed on last year.

So no I don’t think # 3 is to high and think he dose deserve the 65 to 68 million he will get. Curry is the dominate LB we need to team up with Vrabel and Dj to help solidify the LB Corps. for years to come and be the leader this young team needs on D.

So Pioli don’t trade down and don’t take an OT take the best player in the draft in Aaron Curry and get the dominate LB we need to pull this team together and make us dominate on D again and do go watch this highlight of Curry and you will see he can rush the passer, is explosive and fast and is a big time playmaker!

Arrowhead Pride MY Mock Draft = Championship!

This is my mock draft and do believe all this can happen.

#1 Detroit Lions = Matthew Stafford

#2 St. Louis Rams = Eugene Monroe

#3 KC Chiefs = Trade with Cleveland = Aaron Curry

#4 Seattle Seahawks= Jason Smith

#5 Cleveland Browns = Trade with KC Chiefs = Mike Crabtree

So we make a trade with Cleveland we swap first round picks, the get LJ we get Shaun Rogers. Then when Philadelphia comes on the board we trade Crabtree and Tony G. to Philly we get #21 and #28 and #53 we select

#21 KC Chiefs = Trade to Arizona for Anquan Boldin

#28 KC Chiefs select = RT Eben Britton ( Dominate pass blocker and we keep Albert @ LT)

RD 2

#53 KC Chiefs = OLB Clint Sintim ( he had 11 sacks in ‘08 great in the 3-4)

RD 3

#67 KC Chiefs = C Eric Wood ( Dominate C to solidify the line for next 10 years )

RD 4

# 102 KC Chiefs = ILB Daniel Holtzclaw ( Heard on this site he said he was going to be good lets hold him to it)

RD 5

# 139 KC Chiefs = RB Glen Coffee ( He looked like a Badass last year and could be our feature back with the departure of LJ)

RD 6

# 175 KC Chiefs = QB Nate Brown ( Could be trade bait maybe our Cassel in 3 or 4 years)

RD 7

# 212 KC Chiefs = OLB/ ILB Kaluka Maiava ( the 4th member of USC LB Corps very underrated)

RD 7

Mr. Irrelevant = Louis Vasquez OG ( could be good )

So let me help you out if your scratching your head. So we have swapped #3 and LJ for #5 and Shaun Rogers, selected Crabtree at #5, Traded Crabtree and Tony G. to Philly For #21 and #28 and RD 2 # 53, Traded #21 to Arizona for Anquan Boldin and had a badass draft .

We got our NT in Shaun Rogers, Tony Gs replacement in our new main target Boldin and an awesome #2 WR in Bowe, a RT in Britton, Rush LB in Sintim, a C in Eric Woods a ILB in Holtzclaw, LJ’s replacement in Coffee and three development players.

With this happening im calling it “ Championship” and I do think this can happen and would be sweet!

Arrowhead Pride Reunite Albert with Monroe and will have our new Willies for the next 10 plus years!

I have Changed my mind leading up to the draft from choosing Aaron Curry to trading down. But why trade down with the two best players available. So lets stay at #3 and reunite two of the most dominating O-lineman in Virginia history.

When united together on the left side in college the did not surrender a sack the entire season. So with these two massive men anchoring our line for the next 10 plus years think of how dominate our line and entire offense would be.

There have been talks on this site and I to have mentioned them in Herb Taylor and Barry Richardson but why chance it and both our just serviceable backups. I really don’t think people know how dominate this line could be with the addition of Monroe with the #3 pick.

Remember the days of the Willies when Priest and LJ struck fear in opposing teams and racked up yards and touchdowns. Remember last year when LJ couldn’t find the end zone on several occasions in the red zone ( like the NE game ) but do you remember when we had a dominate O-line especially the Raider game down by one we could kick the field goal and go into overtime but Vermeil chose to go for two and we won the game it wasn’t because we got lucky it was because Vermeil had trust in his dominate O-line!

So with the best O lineman on the board at #3 in Eugene Monroe we take him and reestablish the O-line of old and the entire offense of old and reunite the old college buddies in Monroe and Albert and have our new Willies for the next 10 plus years and address the LB position in the later rounds. Our O-line would look pretty sick with this O-line lined up on opening day like this:

Monroe, Waters, 4th round pick A.Q. Shipley, Goff, Albert!

So I ask you this question how good is Monroe he kept are starting left tackle in Albert at guard in college and Albert only surrendered like 7 sacks last year in the NFL so again how good is this guy ? Answer, pretty damn good!

Arrowhead Pride Curry is the missing piece!

For many years chiefs fans have always heard “ we are just a few pieces away from a championship” now with the arrival of Matt Cassel what now is the missing piece? I think the answer is Aaron Curry, we have our franchise quarterback, franchise left tackle (the two hardest positions to fill) a true #1 wide receiver, a Hall Of Fame tight end, a power running back, a defensive line filled with first day picks, a secondary filled with a lot of potential but the missing piece is a fearsome leader to cover the middle of the field, a devastating tackler that makes opposing teams piss their pants to have to line up across from this devastating creature we call our middle linebacker and most importantly a person to unite this entire team and become the emotional leader we have longed for since the days of DT and all of that can be found in Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry. So if we draft Curry there should be no more missing piece shit with Curry the pieces will all come together and remember were are former leader DT was drafted at #4. So with the 3rd pick in the 2009 NFL draft the Kansas City Chiefs Select linebacker Aaron Curry. I cant wait for the commissioner to say this come draft day!

Arrowhead Pride Two teams to watch come draft day!!

There are two teams we need to keep an eye on come draft day. The first is the eagle, yes this has already been talked about, but there are now rumor the Eagles are looking at moving up in the draft to take their franchise left tackle and what better position in the draft to get one than at #3. With players like Smith, Monroe and the other Smith still on the board the Eagles have more than enough firepower to make this trade happen with two first round picks. This would be a good trade for both teams, we would receive two first round picks to help rebuild our offense and defense and the Eagles would get their left tackle. Another team to watch for is the Denver Broncos. In the trade for Matt Cassel the Broncos fell apart with the fighting between Cutler and the organization the might be shopping their franchise QB. If the do make the trade Denver will end up with an extra first round pick but without a QB. So this is were it gets interesting the teams the will be trading with would be the 49ners, Redskins, Jets, Bears, and the Buccaneers and none of those teams will be high enough in the draft for the Broncos to land Stafford or Sanchez. This is were our Chiefs come into play with Pioli and McDaniel’s having history together the may be willing to make a trade, you may ask why would a team help a division rival but would we really be helping the Broncos we would probably get Denver’s two first #12 from Denver and #17 or #19 from the Jets or Tampa and Denver would get our #3 to take their new QB. So would we really be helping them? No, we would be helping our selves to the AFC WEST TITLE by eliminating Denver from contention with the removal of Cutler and the arrival of their new young stud their not going to be that good with the young QB and the AFC west will be down to a two man show with the Chiefs and Chargers. But there is one team that could F this up and that team is the Lions the can do this two ways 1 by selecting Stafford and 2 by making a trade for Cutler and giving #1 overall in the draft to Denver. I would really like for the Denver trade to happen so we could draft at # 12 OLB Evert Brown and #17 RT Michael Oher that would be a pretty sweet first round pick!

Arrowhead Pride We dont need a 2nd round pick

With all the talks of trading down to get our 2nd round pick back, I ask why? So far our draft grade is a A+. What other 2nd round pick has a team selected a QB and a LB/TE with one pick and caused kayos to a divisional rival. To me this has to be the greatest 2nd round pick in Chiefs history! With the arrival of Matt Cassel we no longer have to look at QB @ #3 ,which many mock drafters had us selecting so without the trade we would probably been looking at Stafford or Sanchez @ #3 so that would have eliminated a first round pick and had to draft a less talented defensive player in round 2. But with 34th overall pick by selecting Matt Vrabel we can now look at the best players in the draft. So lets stay at #3 we have already made a great 2nd round pick allowing us to take the best player available @ #3!!!

Arrowhead Pride Orakpo or Monroe

With the talks of trading down and acquiring two first round picks with a team like the Eagles why not trade with a top 5 team like the Browns. That would leave us with two options, trade #3 to Cleveland for #5 and their 2nd or 3rd or make a package trade our #3, LJ and our 5th RD pick for #5, Shaun Rogers and their 3rd RD pick. This would be a nice trade but I only see it happening if Curry is available at #3 or if Cleveland wants Raji. So if we do make the trade and Curry goes # 3 and Raiji goes #4 do we stay on Defense to and select this man at #5:

Brian Orakpo to play OLB and rush end in the hybrid D. In 2008 Orakpo started in 11 games still managed 42 tackles (31 solo) and led the team with 11.5 sacks (Sixth NCAA), 19 TFL (T-Seventh NCAA), 30 pressures and four forced fumbles (T-12th NCAA) and won the Nagurski Trophy (nation's top defensive player), Lombardi Award (nation's top lineman) and Hendricks Award (nation's top defensive end) and was a finalist for the Lott Trophy (defensive IMPACT player of the year) tabbed first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association. Doing all of that in just 11 starts is pretty impressive. At the NFL combine Mike Mayock compared him to the likes of Demarcus Ware of the Cowboys or maybe he could be our Trelle Suggs or maybe he is the next Vernon Gholston (lets hope not) but if this guy lives up to the hype and potential he has he could be a very special player in red and gold.

Or do we shift to the other side of the ball and select thin man

Big old Eugene Monroe, the man that kept our very own Brandon Albert at LG at Virginia. Some would say we don’t need a left tackle or what do you do with Albert? Well I think you move him to RT and bring back dominance to the O-Line and have our two bookend tackles for the next 10 years. To me this is the smartest pick for the Chiefs because look at what it does for the team you will have passing lanes, running lanes and the most important thing you protect our new investment and new quarterback Matt Cassel.

So this is what I would do make the trade with the Browns we ship off LJ get a dominate NT in Shaun "Big Baby" Rogers a third round pick and the #5 overall pick to select LT Eugene Monroe.

So what would you do at #5?

Arrowhead Pride Make the trade Mr. Pioli!!!!!!!!!

This would be the perfect draft for the KC Chiefs. First we would start of trading #3, Brian Waters, and Tamba Hali to Buffalo for #11 in the first, #42 in the second, and #75 in the third. So the can get BPA. Next at #11 we trade #11 to NY Jets for #17 in the first and #53 in the second. So The can get their QB. Then we have #17 in the first, #42 and #53 in the second , #67 and #75 in the third. That gives us 5 day 1 picks! This would be an awesome draft if we could pull this off

So at #17 we take the second best LB in the draft Brian Cushing to play OLB.

RD 2 #42 we take Mack Unger C

RD2 with pick #53 we take DE Robert Ayers

RD 3 we take RG Herman Johnson at #67

RD 3 trade #75 and LJ to Cleveland for NT Shaun Rogers

RD 4 Pick 98 we take Lawrence Sidbury OLB.

RD 5 pick #131 we take Glenn Coffee RB.

RD 6 #162 we take ILB Kaluka Maiava, maybe the biggest sleeper in the draft

RD 7 pick 194 we take WR Quan Cosby

So our offense would go:

LT Brandon Albert

LG Herb Taylor

C Mack Unger

RG Herman Johnson

RT Barry Richardson

WR Bowe, Cosby, Bradley, Franklin

TE Gonzales, Cottam

RB Charles, Coffee, Battle

QB Cassel , Croyle Thigpen

Our D

DE Ayers, Dorsey, Turk, Bone

DT Rogers, Tank, Dorsey

OLB Cushing, Sidburry, Williams, Maiava

ILB DJ, Vrabel, Maiava, Pollard

CB Flowers, Carre, Legget

S Morgan, Page, Pollard, McGraw

This looks pretty sweet I hope it happen?

Arrowhead Pride Could Richardson and Taylor be or new Shields and Roaf?

.

Don’t count out Barry Richardson and Herb Taylor to be starting for the Chiefs in 09.

From Clemsons websiet :

Richardson Fact: Has started 32 consecutive games at offensive tackle.

Years Starter: 2004,05,06
Bowl Participation: Starter at offensive tackle in the 2005 Champs Sports Bowl against Colorado; started at offensive tackle in the 2006 Music City Bowl against Kentucky.
Fall 2007 Depth Chart Position: First-team offensive tackle

Overview:

Preseason first-team All-American according to Playboy; it is the second straight year Clemson has had a Playboy All-American, as Gaines Adams was selected prior to 2006...preseason first-team All-American by Lindy's and Athlon...#4 offensive tackle in the nation by Lindy's and #45 player overall...#3 player regardless of position in the ACC by Lindy's...preseason third-team All-American by Street & Smith...preseason first-team All-ACC by Street & Smith...preseason All-America candidate, and candidate for the Lombardi and Outland Trophies in 2007...listed on the 2007 Football Writers Association preseason All-America checklist...first Clemson offensive tackle to earn first-team all-conference honors as an underclassman since Jim Bundren (1996)...in his fourth season as a starting offensive tackle; he has started since the fifth game of the 2004 season...has started 32 consecutive game and has played in 36 straight games...started as a first-year freshman, Clemson's first first-year freshman to start for the course of a season on the offensive line since 1943...first first-year freshman offensive lineman to start more than one game in a season since Joe Bostic (1975)...strong student-athlete who graduated a year early from Wando High in Mount Pleasant, SC...first scholarship football player to come to Clemson after just three years of high school...in his fourth year at Clemson, but is just 21 years of age...veteran of 36 games; he has 141 career knockdown blocks.

Maybe with the hire of our new line coach he can bring out the potential in both of these young stars.  Could the o line next year look like the o line of years past.

Arrowhead Pride T.O. needs KC and KC needs T.O.

Terrell Owens has money, fame, and a superstar ego. But if there is one thing Terrell Owens doesn’t have is the label of future hall of fame. But if he wants that label what better place to receive it in then KC with a 2-14 team. Sure T.O. is a cry baby, a premodona and a douche bag but aren’t all WR in that mold some how. But if T.O. can help turn around a 2-14 team and help them reach the super bowl and loses the attitude he will be enshrined in Canton. Some say no to T.O. but I say yes . T.O. is still the best receiver in the league he is strong, fast, can catch every pass (and drop them) and is a touchdown machine. With the arrival of Matt Cassel, a legitimate QB in KC and the true #1 receiver we need in T.O., lets face it Bowe is good but T.O. is great, LJ and Tony G. and Bowe this team would be a red zone threat, who would you cover with these weapons. You may ask why would T.O. come to KC? But you go to were there is work and I don’t think T.O. will have many teams pursue him so when you’re already making 10 million dollars this year and looking for the label FHOF why not take a chance on a team that is taking a chance on you. You may also ask how does T.O. lose the attitude? Well you could say it wasn’t his fault in Dallas in that circus down there but lets not make excuses. T.O. has to do this himself but if he wants to resurrect his career he will do it and become the leader on this team. He will say I have had rough past and I want to change so we buy it and if he doesn’t change he only has maybe three years left then we dump him like the rest of the NFL and we move on.  Its a win win we get a superstar WR and T.O. resurrect his  career.  So T.O. you need KC as much as KC needs you.

Arrowhead Pride At #3 do you go O or D

Lets keep LJ, Brian Waters and Tony G. but lets trade Tamba for what ever we can get be it a 3rd or a 4th . Next in the draft at # 3 what do you do . I think if Curry is there you got to take him but if Curry’s gone and Jason Smiths gone who do you take. Do you take Monroe and if you do were does Albert play G or RT or do you take Brian Orakpo to be the edge rusher in the 3-4 some have compared him to Demarcus Ware and some to this years Vernon Gholston me I think he is more the Demarcus Ware type player. My opinion if Curry is gone and Jason Smith is gone I think we try to trade down but no one will trade up to #3 so that eliminates that option so I would take Eugene Monroe and have him play LT and are o line would be set just draft a C in the 4th or 5th with the likes of Eric Wood or AQ Shipley then or O line would go

Monroe, Waters, Wood or Shipley, Herb Taylor, Albert? Then you address the D side with the rest of the picks taking the best defensive player available. Also there are two FA that could fit in the 3-4 still out there OLB Kevin Burnett and DE Igor Olshansky those two could fill some holes going into the draft?

Arrowhead Pride Chiefs Way to the Superbowl

First off I would like to think Clark Hunt for the change he has made this off-season because those moves were kick ass! With that being said here are a few moves that could make this off-season even grater.

First hire Romeo as our new D Coordinator with him and Clancy Pen. We could transition from the 4-3 to the 3-4 or maybe we have a defense like Baltimore were we run both, which I could see happening.

With that being said here are a few FA we should pursue.

FA # 1 Jason Taylor

I know he is getting older but he had his best years as a 3-4 OLB with the Phins. I don’t know for sure when the Phins. switched to the 3-4 but in 07 he had 11 sacks and in 06 he had 13.5 but he had a shitty year last year so maybe we can get him for a reasonable price and maybe he can be our version of Terrell Suggs with the 3-4 4-3 defense.

FA # 2 OLB Kevin Burnett

In just his 4th season, he showed he could be a reliable blitzing LB for the Cowboys last year as a backup this would be another good pick up for the 3-4 4-3 D.

FA # 3 is another defensive player Jim Leonhard as a S for the Ravens he showed he could be a good player alongside Ed Reed and also being a good punt returner he would also be a good addition. With Leonhard taken over at the S position that would allow Pollard to move down to OLB in the 3-4 4-3 D. Now to some Offensive FA I like FB Leonard Weaver, he is a good short yardage back, good run blocker and a reliable pass catcher. I think we can address the O line in the draft. Next lets talk some trade I would like to see the Brian Waters ant Tony G trade play out for additional draft picks from Buffalo maybe a 1st and a 5th for two good player we could get two future good players.

Next I really would like this trade LJ for Shaun Rogers he could be the guy to play the NT in the 3-4 4-3 D and with our new D coordinator Romeo it would make a lot of sense.

So now with the #3 and #11 picks in the first round we could select two high quality players. With #3 I would take Curry and #11 I would take Andre Smith to play RT and with our third pick I would take the best OG or OC available. It would take a lot for this to happen but it could happen fairly easy with all the cap space we have. Also the Cassel trade was awesome! Let me know what you think??

Arrowhead Pride Go big in FA

With FA days away I want to talk about two guys that could turn this thing around. Everyone has been talking about Vilma, and other linebackers but with a draft full of them why waste money there except Bart Scott he is the only LB we should peruse and on the d-line there are talks of Canty and Olshanski those to are good picks but there not the FA we should pursue. The defensive FA we should pursue is Big Albert Haynesworth. He wants to be the highest paid defensive player ever. Then pay the man. If he were coming out of college he would go number #1 overall so pay him # 1 money. At 27 years old look what this man has done to Tennessee’s D he has taken an average d and made them a super bowl caliber team. If you have one of the worst teams in the league you should sign the best defensive player in the league. Albert opens holes for his teammates that no one else can and isn’t that what chiefs nation says is wrong with Tamba lacks an elite d lineman. Well here’s your chance to get him. Next FA I want is Matt Cassel if it is true what Peter King said about a second round this year and a second next it would be stupid not to trade for him. In what draft has a QB of his talent come out of the second round. Again Chiefs Nation has said put Thigpen on NE team and see what he can do with all that talent? What the hell are you all talking about lets compare Teams a little bit. NE top WR Moss and Welker KC Bowe and Gonzales that’s 2 first round picks and one is a future hall of famer. Next NE RB were cast offs and old guys KC Larry Johnson and Charles those two aren’t to bad. The only thing NE really had better is an o line while KC has just half a line. But that could be fixed in the draft with the 3rd overall pick with Eugene Monroe but I like Curry at # 3 to. So there are the 2 FA this team needs. I just think we should start with these two guys before we go to any one else. I really believe that the KC Chiefs and the Lions will be the two players to sign both of these guys .

Arrowhead Pride 3 ?

I had a few questions for Chiefs Nation on this boring Sunday

1) I am all for drafting Aaron Curry with the 3rd overall pick and with switching to the 3-4 do you see him playing inside or on the outside rushing the passer?

2) What would Chiefs nation think about trading back into rd 1 about pick 11 to pick Sanchez and what would the chiefs have to give up to get that done and could a 3rd and TG or Tamba get it done with Buffalo needing a TE and a DE?

3) If we get the above ? Completed having a LB and QB and a second. What position would we go after with the second?

Tanks for your time and responses.

Arrowhead Pride how about this

I was thinking about my last post and started thinking I would like to redo it. In FA sign OG Jahri Evans, OLB Bart Scott, DE Chris Canty. In my next offseason move I would trade our 3rd overall pick and Tamba Hali to the Eagles for there two first round picks and their 3rd round pick. Now some would say what? Trade Tamba but if we are moving to the 3-4 defense I don’t see him fitting in our plans. Next trade Tony G to the NY Giants for there first 2nd round pick # 45. These would be the key moves in rebuilding our defense. Then on draft day with the 21st overall pick from the Eagles we select OLB Aaron Maybin from Penn St.. Next pick # 28 we select Alex Mack C from Cal. Then to the second round with pick 34 we take Ron Brace DT from BC. Then with our other 2nd round pick from NY Giants #45 we select SS William Moore from Missouri. Then in round 3 with pick 67 we take Herman Johnson to play RT out of LSU. Also in this round with pick 83 from the Eagle trade we take TE Chase Coffman from Missouri. So our D would go:

DE= Canty DT= Brace DE= Dorsey

OLB= Demario Williams ILB= Johnson ILB= Scott OLB= Maybin

CB= Carr CB= Flowers

SS= Moore FS= Page

Our O would go:

Bradley Albert, Waters, Mack, Evans, Johnson, Bowe

Coffman

Thigpen

Cox

Johnson

This would make a solid team going into the 2009 season what do you all think?

Arrowhead Pride what the chiefs should do

First thing would be to hire Pittsburg Steelers LB coach Keith Butler as DC.  He has experience in a 3-4 if we switch or he could turn our 4-3 into something special.  Just look what he has done with the steelers LB all 4 are studs.  Next to the OC maybe a Haley Gailey combo could work Gailey could call the first half and Haley Could call the second half.  Look at last season Gaileys offense was awsome in the first half but couldnt find a rythem in the second half and look at Haleys superbowl performance they could barely move the ball in the first half but in the second half they damn near won the game with his aggressive style.  Next in free agency Albert Haynesworth is a stud and could teach our young d line but do we need him. Glenn Dorseys rookie year was nothing to complain about and their rookie seasons are very simalar Alberts rookie year = 16 gms 30 tackles 1 sack Glenns rookie year  = 16 gms 46 tackels 1 sack.  So I would rather put our money towards Julies Peppers a veteran stud that could teach our young line and could fill a need at DE and that would also help Tamba get his mojo back.  Another addition I like is JP Losman have him and Thiggy compete for the starting job and that would also bring in some veteran leadership.  To shore up the o line Jahri Eveans at 6'4 318lbs and just 25 this boy is a future stud he has started every game for the last 3 seasons.  To help the LB Karlos Dansby or Bart Scott both are dominate players so either one would work.  Then in the days leading up to the draft in a block buster trade we trade dumb ass LJ to the Patriots for a 2nd round pick.  Then on draft day with the number 3 pick we select Aaron Curry to lock up the LB corps. then with pick #31 we select Max Unger for o line help and then with pick #47 from the Pats we select Phil Loadholt to put the finishing touches on our o line and to sure it up for years to come.  This would definitley help put us in the right direction and put the play off drought behind us.  What do you all think?
