King believes Favors will benefit from the presence of veterans Troy Murphy and newly signed Joe Smith. But King said the rookie power forward already has shown some growth and the reports coming back from his coaches have been "great."

"They said from summer league to now the progression has been incredible," King said. "He’s hitting the jump shot, dunking on people, finishing. I think the summer and all the work is starting to pay off and starting to click with him. I think the fact that you’re bringing in Troy made him realize there’s another guy. Competition makes guys focus more."

I was reading NAS monday mailbag, and in the first question, Pruiti says Favors cannot be traded for one year. Can NI or anyone else confirm this? This is interesting because if it is true, it changes a lot of things.

NetsDaily Attendence

With the schedule released among many other things, I wanted to know what you guys think the average attendance will be this year at the Prudential Center. We averaged around 13,134 last year. That's pretty bad. With a new young exciting team, better transportation, and better food and places to hang out around the arena, I expect this season's attendance to go up. (Not saying much)

On a side note, I found something interesting The Link

D-Wade says:

``I understand people are going to say stuff. And we accept it with open arms,'' Wade said. ``And even on the road, because every place is going to sell out when we come to town. So [opposing teams] can thank us now.''

The Heat might sell out a lot of arenas, but I'm not so sure about the Pru. I'm hoping to see at least a few sell-out games and lightning atmosphere this season. That would be a great experience to be in the game, pumping our players up. Probably be there opening night vs the Pistons, and looking forward to a great season!

NetsDaily YES!! Yi Might be gone!!

I got to admit, I was high on Yi and expected a lot from him when we traded him for RJ. So far, he has shown some flashes, but hasn't been consistent. With Yi's $4 mil out of the way, we would have 30 mil, right? This is from NetsAreScorching.

Today, Al Iannazzone is reporting that the Nets may finally be close to ending their professional relationship with Yi Jianlian:

They are working on a deal with the Wizards that would send Yi and cash to Washington for a player who makes “significantly less” than what the Nets’ power forward earns. Three sources confirmed this could happen.

The player could be Quinton Ross ($1.14 million) or one of their draft picks. Yi makes $4.05 million this season. Either way, the Nets are close to getting Yi’s salary off their books.

The Nets would do this to get as far under the cap as possible so they potentially could sign two max players. Yi for Ross would save the Nets close to $3 million and put them around $30 million.

Obviously, this would be a fantastic move. The failed Yi experiment can finally be over and the Nets are able to clear up even more cap space. While they would still be a little short for two max contracts, every dollar counts in this year’s free agency and they still have the potential of moving Kris Humphries’s $3.2 million contract (he picked up his option yesterday). I was originally a supporter of the Yi experiment, but after watching Yi stumble over his own two feet for the past two years, it’s safe to say that any value we can get for him is certainly good. His hopefully imminent departure represents more than just a poor power forward leaving: it’s a mark of both erasing an idea from the Kiki era and a statement that the Nets, while attempting to become a global brand, are looking for talent over global marketability.

More updates today as they come in.

NetsDaily Granger to Nets?

Looks like WOJ has some more rumors about the Nets and their pick.

Pacers and Nets discussing trade to send package including Danny Granger and 10th pick for Devin Harris, Yi and No. 3 pick, sources tell Y!

The Pacers would trade up to third spot to draft Derrick Favors. No deal imminent, and source says Nets interest is "lukewarm" on it.

I like Granger, but his injury history is concerning. What do you guys think about this? This would also basically count us out in the LBJ sweepstakes.

NetsDaily Chad Ford gives a sneak peek of the other measurements.

Wall had a 39" vert, 10.84 lane agility, 3.14 3/4 sprint.

Turner had 34.5 inch vert, 11.06 lane agility, 3.27 3/4 sprint

Derrick Favors had the highest maximum vertical jump height at 12' 1.5" That's impressive, though Shaq, D. Howard, T. Thomas got higher

How do Wall's numbers compare to Rose? Rose had 40" max vert. Ran sprint in 3.05 sec but was 11.69 on lane agility

Trevor Booker was fasted in 3/4 sprint at 3.1 sec. Harangody benched most 185 lb reps at 23.
