Casual Hoya And the Fraud continues

How is it we hold them without a fg for damn near 10 minutes and we only had a 4 point lead. I have to call it like I see it, Im happy with the win, but we should of won this game by 20 to 25 points. I know no one do not want to say but some our freshman class have alot more heart then the upper classman. And once again can somebody tell me why Lucik is starting ,please. This game should not have been close, and oh yeah its about time Hollis showed up his ass has been missing since New Years. Im not getting hyped up over this team, as I think they are by Hoya standards Fradulent.

Casual Hoya OTTO PORTER!!!!!!

Word on the street is OTTO PORTER is a GU HOYA!!!!!, as you may know its be a delicate few days with him just visiting, and with the way the MIssouri situation fell apart, and Kansas I feel got involved way to late. And also they just signed a big time recruit to play that very positioin. So, I just want to give everyone a heads up of the news thats running around DC right now. This incoming class is the best class to come to GU in sometime, all have height athleticism, and have an attitude about them, I believe we may be ready to play some basketball around these parts once again. No more small ball, and getting killed on the boards, we should be well on our way, hats off to JTIII and Kirby,

WE ARE GEORGETOWN

Casual Hoya I think it is

I think it is time to change out the starting 5,

run it like this

CW

AF

HT

NL

JV

Clark first off the bench, but then use Vee, Starks, and Bowen as interchangeable. I know it wont happen but I think this will help us no play small ball, but keep scorers on the floor at all times. And not end up with the line-up with JB playing 10-20 minutes, no way that guy should ever see the floor unless the game is decided in our favor.

Casual Hoya OK

Here we go fellas it does'nt look good, we seem to have more infighting on the team, and it is starting to have its effect on the players.  This does not bode well for the rest of the regular season or tourny, If I was a betting man I would say we should be ready for a 2-3 or 1-4 finish, first round exit out of the BET, and the same for the tourney. We have a player on the team who think they are way better then what he really is, and his negaitve attitude and crying is at best getting on the other players nerves. They are not practicing well, and once again the chemistry is starting to errode because of this player.  Its sad but I think this season maybe over if JTIII doesnt handle the situation this time, once and for all. Dont be surprised if we start to see Vee start to get minutes, but all in all it is not good in Hoya Land, and im pissed off. We have a chance to do something special this year as we have shown that we can play with any team in the nation but jealousy and stubborness are going to kill this season. Damn Shame.

Casual Hoya Put USF

On the list of teams I want to see in the BET. That basket in the end was garbage, I want to see them in the BET, to put their tourny hopes out in flames. And those commentators were brutal. The announcers were cheerleading USF in the second half, and when  I saw Cahill doing the game I knew we were in trouble. How could you call that last foul in Greg. Jones was in the lane and out of control and threw up some BS shot.

Casual Hoya 2010 Recruit Moses Abraham

Right now Georgetown is at the top," said Boncore. "Being in D.C. we know what they can do and saw it against Duke. Moses is just trying to develop relationships with the head coaches, and he loves John Thompson.

"Kentucky is right behind Georgetown, and we are looking forward to see what they have to say. Right with Kentucky then Tennessee and Texas. He really likes their coaches."

Seems like JTIII is suring up the middle to get ready for next year. If Greg stays we are set no question. This guy could put our 2010 class in the top ten in my view. And it seems we are on a SG LaQuinton Ross, from Jackson, MS. JTIII is on the trial for sure. And the beat down of Duke is paying dividends with recruits. I dont think that the negative talk about to Princeton Offense will work any longer, I'm just saying.

Casual Hoya Kill Duke replay

Will be on today, on Directv channel 613 at 4:00 pm We will get to see the game in replay and be able to pick up certain things in the teams play now that we already know to outcome. We can see the in game adjustments by III. And get excited all over again, how cant you get excited by wacthing the dismanteling of the DOOK blue devils. I wanted us to win by 20, but a win is a win.

Casual Hoya Were not in Kansas anymore TOTO

I have to come out and say it, this team by far, is so muched removed from last years squad. I guess it is true when JTIII said this year it is sort of addition by subtraction. Meaning we got rid of two knuckle heads and we really have the same players we had last year with just one more year of experience. That said I have enjoyed watching this team compete, the thing that is getting me a little worried, we have the ESPN talking heads on the bandwagon early on. We dont need that, they will only jinx us in the end, as they were mentioning the Hoyas in the National Chapionship picture. This years team can compete with anyone out there, or defense is getting better, and the offense seems to be fluid this year. Hopefully Chris Wright will continue to keep his out of control drives and TO's to a minimum, dont force the issue and let the game come to him. Freeman right now is playing like he is on another level, I still think he can reach an even higher level with his continued play. Monroe has been outstanding this last few weeks, I know it has heloed his confidence along the way. Now one of my favorites starting hitting last game my man Hollis Thompson, now if he can keeping hitting those shots, the middle should be open for Monroe and Vaughn to operate. Clark is steady, I like his range on the three point, and I like his defense. The bench will continue to improve as we finally had a Henry Sims sighting last game, hopefully he will step in and contribute on both end of the floor. Sanford, and Benimon look to be those guys that JTIII have found that were under the radar. As Benimon has been getting minutes and helping out  in the rebounding department, Im hoping Sanford will get a little run also, and maybe insert him when the game is still in the balance, and not only when the game is won.  All and all when I add this up it comes down to this

A Version Of Princeton's Offense

Nothing Else But Georgetown's Defense

Casual Hoya Markel Starks

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/01/15/AR2010011504394.html

Thia is a nice little write up about him and his last game. The kid is going to be nice on the Hill Top, I still think if Greg stays one more year, we will be in great shape going forward next season, and it will allow III to batten down the recruiting front as well. Its going to be fun beating UCONN with Roscoe Smith for the next four years, thats for sure.

Casual Hoya So after leaving the verizon center last night

I get home and cut on ESPN and guess whos playing, big mouth Jeremiah Rivers, we need to keep a sticky post for his fantastic offensive onslaught of points in each game since Georgetown offense was holding him back

STARTERS MIN FGM-A 3PM-A FTM-A OREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS
Bobby Capobianco, F 15 0-0 0-0 0-0 0 2 0 0 2 0 4 0
Christian Watford, F 34 7-15 0-3 2-3 5 8 2 1 0 3 4 16
Jeremiah Rivers, G 31 2-6 0-0 2-4 1 3 2 3 0 1 4 6
Jordan Hulls, G 36 2-7 1-5 0-1 1 3 1 0 0 2 1 5
Verdell Jones. III, NA 36 3-14 0-5 1-2 4 10 3 0 0 4 2 7

In 31 minutes of play 6 points and 2 asst. WTF, and it was the Georgetown system holding you back, ahhhh I dont think so son.

C'mon Son, you know what the truth is dont yah?

Casual Hoya Somebody please tell me why

Vernon Macklin said he left Georgetown, I watched him play last night and his game is straight garbage. It looks like he put on some weight but man, he doesnt have a shot, and go to move, nothing. He was invisible out there, and at one point when the coach put him on the bench he had this look of disgust on his face. Man I thkn he did us a favor in the long run.

Casual Hoya Whats going on

with AI, I'm hoping this is not true, but if it is he needs to stop gambeling all together. He does not need to take the Barkley way and spend millions and millions in gambeling and after all, he is getting toward the twilight of his career, it is time to start investing in retirement. I do not want to hear a story 15 years from now saying AI is broke and bankrupt.

Casual Hoya MIss this little guy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe66EodgWww

A I was like the heartbeat of Georgetown when he played, the guy just loved playing the game. I was hoping he would of won a championship by now, but it seems not to be. I remember the game he played against the Lakers in the championship, he was pushing things to the limit even when he knew that the 6ers were not going to win, he just kept shooting, keep playing defense, and tried to keep his team in it.

A I is one of my all time favorite bball players

Casual Hoya Roscoe Smith

Evaluation

<!-- FSP instance -->

December, 2008: Smith has incredible length and very good athleticism. He also has the size that could allow him to develop into an elite wing scorer, but he needs to get much stronger. Smith has range on his jumper that extends to the 3-point line, but he has a tendency to rely on that shot too much. When he looks to go to the rim, he tends to over-dribble and hunt down shots, which serves to bring the offense to a halt. Smith almost exclusively operates on the left wing for his offense. A middle game would make Smith even more difficult for defenses to contend with and open up his drive game. He also needs to continue to work on his ball-handling skills. Smith has the length, lateral quickness, and athleticism to become a very good defender, but he only seems to utilize this after he scores a bucket. He also needs to alleviate his tendency to leak out on defense for fast breaks and not use his impressive athletic gifts for defensive rebounding. Added strength would not only help him as a rebounder and defender, it will also aid him on the offensive end when he goes to the bucket.

August, 2008: Smith is a lengthy wing-type for the highest level. He glides in transition and is one of the smoothest finishers around. He has a nice feel for the game as he made a number of nice passes, especially in transition. He can take defenders off the dribble and he can hang in the air for awhile while finishing.

2007: Roscoe is a very long and thin wing. He is skilled. A solid shooter, he can score inside and out. He has very good size and will be a bear once he fills out his body. Weakness is his biggest short coming right now. He is a good slasher and shooter. He is also a good rebounder. Roscoe is a top 25 prospect in the 2010 class nationally.

Notes

Travel Team: Team Melo...Cal, Florida, UCLA, Kansas, Florida State, Louisville and Texas A&M have also offered...Duke may enter the picture...North Carolina has seen him but not yet offered (Jan. '09)...

Casual Hoya Triston Spurlock

Seems since UVA canned their coach looks as though Spurlock will be looking again. he had an offer form the Hoyas before he decided to go to UVA.

He would be a good fit, and battle Thompson for playing time. Sign him up, if he wants to come to the Hill Top. And they both will be pushing Dejuan,

just hope he has no problem banging under the boards.

Casual Hoya I like this kid

http://www.reelathletics.net/JOlasewere.html

Said JTIII was at his game this past weekend, to look at him and Roscoe Smith. I like this kid, doesnt mind crashing the boards I might add. I like how balanced he seems to be. Doesnt seem to force shots and I'm not saying this but I see he has 3 point range ability. Something we were missing last year, he is versatile, hopefully JTIII can close the deal. His game reminds me of JEff Green, not syaing he is the next Jeff, but I'm saying his game reminds me of JG.

Casual Hoya Did you Guys Read this BS

http://www.thehoya.com/node/18437#comment-10745

This guy has no business writing about JTIII in one down season, I wish I could meet him face to face and ask him some questions about the Hoyas and see what he is really on. To wirte some bullshit editorial about JTIII and the state of the program man please. he better do some fucking research and find out where JTIII has brought this program from. Another monday morning qb, I hate em

Casual Hoya There is Always Next Year

And thats for sure, JTIII will have a job on his hands trying to revamp this group of guys. But right now I think he needs to keep on the recruiting trail and bring in atleast 2 guys for the 09-10 season. It seems all hands are pointing towards L.Williams PF coming aboard since Memphis has commits form two power forwards as of yesterday. And also there is a feel that we will be welcoming Vee Sandford PG.

I feel with someone on the team who will bring some heart and fight back to the club and get out of this finasse bull we have been seeing. Nothing fires up this group of guys, I mean nothing. Not a hard foul, not a good dunk, not even a 15 point lead. It is just status quo. So yes I'm with POPS the Hoyas need some THUGS to help man the paint because, up into this point we have been getting bitched on the offensive and defensive boards. If Williams commits he will start at the PF position no questions asked. DS will slide back to the 3 position, and of course Hollis will be starting at SF. And CW running the point, so then JTIII and juggle playing time based on team positions in the game between Freeman, Clark, Sanford, Sims. We can go 8 deep next year with a little fall off on the offensive side but not defensive in my opinion. Wattad, Nikita, Vaughn ahh lets just say umm spot duty with a 25 point lead, and thats only spot duty.
