Who will you root for now that the Lakers have been eliminated from the playoffs? Personally I'm gonna go with the underdog and root for the Grizz to take it all. I would love to see them knock off the Mavs in the Western Conference Finals. Although I'll be content if any team besides the Celts or Heat take it all. So which team will you root for the rest of the way?

After a brutal schedule last season, next year looks like it will much easier. It's too early to tell since you never know how good any of these teams will be but on paper we should be favored in at least 12 of these games.

What are everyone's thoughts on whether or not we should keep him? The defense was horrid this year but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to hire a 3rd defensive coordinator in just 3 seasons. Maybe the players need more time to adjust to his style of defense. But the defense was so bad this year against high powered offenses, and I'm just not sure if Bresnahan is the right guy to turn it around.

And the offseason insanity continues. The Dodgers give 5 years and 45 million for a guy who put up a line of .292/.330/.388 last year. Not as bad as the Soriano signing but pretty close.

Baseball's Most Valuable Players

Anyone see this on ESPN? It is a list of rankings of the 50 most valuable players in baseball without taking contracts into consideration. Felix is the only Mariner to crack the list at #8. Here are the rankings-

In my opinion Felix is ranked a little low. Pujols is the only player I would definitely trade him for and possibly Wright and Cabrera as well.

There are a few other rankings I disagree with but overall its a pretty interesting read.

Honestly I can't find too much wrong with the list. Oakland and Texas are where they belong but Anaheim is too high in my opinion. And I can't blame them for putting the M's so low although hopefully we play better than that ranking.

Ichiro on All Star team

as the sole representative for the Mariners. I'm glad for him but I definitely think Eddie Guardado deserved it more and should have been there over Joe Nathan. Ichiro is having one of his worst seasons to date while Guardado has been of the most dominent closers in baseball.

Then again I'm probably more likely to watch with Ichiro on the team then if it had been Guardado.

Mariners rank #61 overall. They are #4 in the Stadium Experience category not suprisingly they are dead last in Bang for the Buck (Revenues directly from fans divided by wins in the past three years). They are also pretty low for strong on-field leadership especially now with Edgar gone.
