Arod player of the month
Chone Figgins was runner up to Arod in the voting for player of the month. I don't now about you guys but I have a problem with this. It seems like any time Arod remotely sniffs a decent month or a decent year he gets all the awards.
There have been some years where I thought other players were more deserving of the MVP. Figgins clearly had the best month of his career and got 53 freakin hits and single handedly propelled his team to the best record in baseball. He deserved to win. Arod's numbers didn't mean as much to his team by the end of the month. MLB just loves giving awards to ARod.

Adam Dunn?
This is my two diary minimum. Slow day at the office.
I am starting to think long and hard about trading for Adam Dunn. I was watching my second favorite team (phillies) the other day and witnessed Adam Dunn hit a towering shot into the upper right field decks of Citizens Bank Ballpark (it was Bondesq).
I know he strikes out alot but he also walks alot. Bottom line: I can see him hitting alot of homeruns behind Vlad and helping the team. Our lineup would be really impressive with the addition of Dunn. Kennedy and Dibble were taliking about how good of clubhouse guy he is and that he would probably do better if he was playing on a contender. He could rotate between DH, left field and firstbase.
We would probably have to give up Santana and a couple of prospects. Not sure that I would do this but it is tempting.

Reporter from Seattle Post really talking up Mariners
I was Listening to the Baseball Beat on XM and they had John Hickey from Seattle Post on. They are giddy up in Seattle after their series sweep of Boston. He believes that the Angels are playing above themselves offensively and defensively and are in the process of coming back down to earth.
What does everyone think of his analysis?

Mariners
The M's are out to a one run lead against Cleveland. If they win this game they will be four games out. I personally do not believe this team will be able to sustain this current run but I have to admit that some doubt is stating to creep in. Is this team for real or merely a flash in the pants?
Can the A's maintain there current run with a majority of their star players on the DL. The series against Boston has given this team new life. Based on our current run we should be up by more then 4.5 games.
Update: Moved over from the Diaries Section - the Mariners won again tonight - and against Cleveland, a damn good AL team, so... is Settle's Sasquatch Mary for real?
