Super Bowl Shuffle 2.0
I wasnt sure if anyone caught this but I just had an update on my twitter account and apparently the Bears are going to be in the Super Bowl this year after all. It just wont be on the football field, it will be in a commercial remaking that world renown song that we all know and love soo much. It will air during the first quarter some time.
Here is the link Super Bowl Shuffle Commercial
Change (A Formula We Believe In)
This is definitely not what I envisioned, I normally have a pretty good gauge on my Chicago Bears but this year has gone completely the other way on me. Ive been beating down mentally and I have had some time to think to myself about exactly what went wrong with this team. What a disappointment for everyone players, coaches and fans alike, it seems like a century ago when we were 3-1 coming off a bye fighting for the division. And I have come to the conclusion that it is time for an overhaul of the entire coaching staff.
Morrissey Eats His Words!!!
I know that this is a Bears website but I also know some of you are not Chicago natives and some of you are specifically just Bears fans. But I felt that you guys should see this, Rick Morrissey can definitely rub people the wrong way, sometimes with his over the top columns especially about the Bears, but I have to say after witnessing this I have a new found respect for Rick Morrissey. Never have I seen someone actually stand by what they write quite like this before and it should be a lesson to all players and fans alike that sports shouldnt be taken soo seriously.
That being said if the Bears dont beat the 49ers tomorrow, I seriously might kill someone or jump off a rooftop somewhere. So what if Im a hypocrite, enjoy!!!
Time For The Bears To Step Up And Bear Down (Poll)
If the Chicago Bears plan on going to the playoffs this year they had better plan on winning this Sunday or you can forget it. Coming up on the midway point fo the season the playoff picture is starting to take form and if you look at our schedule moving forward it is not going to get any easier than how it started. Granted we did have alot of road games to start the season, but a 4-4 record halfway through just wont cut it for a team with playoff aspirations. That Browns games to me was as irrelevant last Monday as it is this Monday. Time for everyone, players, coaches, management, and fans to move forward from this game.
Pisa Tinoisamoa We hardly knew ye....
Just tweeted by Vaughn McClure, Pisa has opted to go for season ending knee surgery. A very big blow to an already depleted linebacking core. With all of the different players we have had rotating out of the LB position, I want to know what you think should be the solution.
With some of our inexperience exposed in the no huddle, expect teams to exploit that a little more, especially Cincy. Not to mention that this will inevitably effect our Special Teams as well, this is not a good situation we are in, obviously. The silver lining is that we have played without Pisa the entire year and guys have stepped up for the most part. So I want to hear your input regarding this. Or if you dont like the options given what FA would you like to see the Bears go after?? Brooks, Trotter, Napolean Harris, Dick Butkus etc....
What is with this sudden and overplayed outburst of the need for a WR?
Ive been seeing this weeks posts on the WCG about picking up a WR, from Braylon Edwards to Matt Jones (for the 193rd time), to Terrell Owens and Reggie Williams (you cant be serious), and it just makes me shake my head and laugh. Come on guys give it up, let it go, move on, END CREDITS.

The Wait Is Over My Friends.................
As Tom Petty puts it "The Wait Is The Hardest Part", and those words couldn't have held any more true than they have this year. From the day the NFL announced that the Bears and Packers would be playing each other on Sunday Night to open the season to that glorious afternoon on April the 2nd when the Bears shocked us all and made the move we have all been waiting for, for many of decades, to be perfectly honest. The word wait truly is the word of day. Well today my friends the wait is finally over.

Schefter Reporting On Twitter-Bears Express interest in Matt Jones
I just got a tweet from Adam Schefter of ESPN, and he claims the Titans have set up a meet and greet with Matt Jones. And in addition the Cowboys and Bears have expressed interest.
Whats gonna be....................
In light of a recent post from my buddy Hovanec, I thought I would counteract his negative post with a much more positive one for everyone.

Bobby Wade "Claims" Urlacher speaks negatively of Cutler
Not that every single other pessimist isnt trying to find an angle on Cutler. But heres another one for you. I was just listening to AM1000 with Waddle and Silvy. And apparently a local Minnesota radio station K FAN did an interview with Bobby Wade over the Brett Favre annoucment. And at some point during the interview Jay Cutlers name got brought up. And Bobby Wade "Claims" that Brian Urlacher used a "specific" word when referring to Jay Cutler to him during a trip to Vegas that they went together. Apparently Brian Urlacher said Jay Cutler is a bitch.
This will sure to be the leading story going into Training Camp. I for one hate Bobby Wade. And now the hate has reached an all time level. Even if Urlacher did say that to him, I assume he said it to him to be kept between the two of them, especially not smeared on the radio 2 days before camp. If Wade and Urlacher are friends, rhey arent anymore. I promise you that, Urlacher hates media attention. Hey a day after Favre pulled the rug out from under the Vikings, the Vikings are already trying to stir the pot and just piss the Bears off, fans and players alike.
This will have no bearing on how Jay Cutler plays with the Bears. Unless Urlacher is our #1 wide reciever then this will not mess up the chemistry of this team. It would be different if Greg Olsen was saying this. This issue should get squared away this weekend. And when the season comes around the Bears will not forget what Bobby Wade tried to create in the offseason. And then he will have to answer to Mr Urlacher.
Have fun with Vage Rosenfels, Bobby. And youre the bitch by the way.
Whos all planning to go to Training Camp this weekend??
Me and a couple of friends will be taking the trip and Ill probably be getting there early too. If anyone is intrested in getting beat at bags, feel free to come by. Well be the ones with the Red and Blue Cubs bags sets. I welcome any challenge from a fellow WCGer. Were gonna do some grillin too. My names Greg if youre unsure if its me or not (Ill be sportin my new white Cutler jersey). But you better bring your "A" game if you want to play bags, cause Im pretty pumped about taking the trip to Bearbonnais, so Im focused, its been the longest 4 months of my life since we got Cutler. But the anticipation is over only 4 days and its Training Camp time!!
Carry My Bags Rookie (Poll)
With rookies reporting to camp starting TOMORROW!!!!( thank you god) I wanted to gauge where the expectation levels of the fans are for the incoming rookie class for the Bears.
Now granted the Bears did not have a first or a second round pick in the draft this year, so the chances of one of these guys coming in and making a BIG impact is a long shot, but the other side of me says the Bears are notorious for turning late round picks into big time talent, especially on defense. For example, Mark Anderson 5th Round pick - 12 sacks rookie year, Lance Briggs 3rd Round pick - Pro Bowler, Alex Brown 4th Round Pick - Solid and Durable, Nathan Vasher 4th Round Pick - 17 picks in first 4 years, Olin Kruetz 3rd Round Pick - 6 time Pro Bowler, even as much as I hate to say this now, Bernard Berrian 3rd Round Pick - and a traitor.
Now one thing to note is the lack of late round surprises coming from offensive skill positions. Which is why Im not holding my breath when it comes to Iglesias (two words - Mark Bradley). But then again with our new Pro Bowl Quarterback getting these young guys the ball, anything is liable to happen. Look at how Marques Colston broke onto the scene with the Saints, and he was a SEVENTH Round pick.
Jarron Gilbert is an explosive athlete with freakishly long arms who will benefit tremendously on the defensive line under the tutelage of D Line Guru Rod Marinelli. Juaquin Iglesias was the first Wide Reciever taken in the draft by the Bears, which most felt was their most glaring need. But a less than stellar OTA performance by Iglesias has thrusted Johnny Knox into the spotlight of the media and fans alike. This 5th round pick unlike Iglesias dazzled during OTA's showing off his 4.3 speed and actually showing steady hands throughout dropping few passes. Some have speculated that he could contend with Rashied "everyone hates me" Davis for the Slot during Training Camp, but if Earl Bennett taught us anything its that there is alot more to recieving than just running and catching. So lets keep our fingers crossed and hope he becomes the next Wes Welker.
Some dark horses to keep in mind that could contribute on special teams or on the starting squad if injuries were to occur are guys like Marcus Freeman, a 5th round pick out of THE Ohio State University who going into his last year in college was projected to be a late 1st round early 2nd round pick by some pundits, but could easily be overlooked because of some of the bigger names from those mean OSU linebackers the last couple of years . I could see Freeman being an absolute BEAST for the Bears on special teams and at some point, maybe not this year, being a solid outside linebacker for years to come. DJ Moore is another interesting pick, Kiper gushed over this pick by the Bears, believing that Moore couldve gone alot earlier than the 4th round that he was taken in. But alot like Nathan Vasher some experts believe he is undersized to play corner. A guy with good ball skills and has a knack for coming up with the big pick, this guy could contribute and at some point give Daniel Manning some help at the Nickel back.
Some even darker horses are guys like Al Afalava a 6th round pick who likely wont be one our starting safeties, but crazier things have happened, and considering the percieved lack of talent the Bears have at safety, I wouldn't rule any of them out as a potenital starter. Will Ta'ufo'ou is an intriging pick for me. A fullback out of Cal who leaves it all on the field, all you have to do is go onto you tube type in his name and youll know why I listed this undrafted rookie as a potential contributer coming into this season.
Derek Kinder, Lance Louis, and Henry Melton more than likely arent going to make the field barring a jaw dropping effort during Training Camp or a slew of injuries that could force them into the lineup. There is just too much depth ahead of them and its a stretch to see any of them get significant playing time this season. I'll give Derek Kinder the best chance of these three but like I said its slim to none.
Same old story, Same old song and Dance
As excited as I am about the upcoming season and believe me its at about a 12 out of 10. I'm basically covering my eyes and hoping for the best with Tommie Harris. Its easy to overlook the problems hes had considering all the new additions the Bears have made. But if he cant get back to the form of past seasons, the D Line will have trouble rebounding from a poor season last year. It shows me the GM is worried about the position too or he would have drafted a WR, not a D Lineman with the first pick in the third round.
He wasn't there when we made our run in the playoffs due to injury and he really hasnt been the same since. But yet every preseason comes around and hes getting held back for "precatioinary" reasons. He was even suspended a game for being late for TREATMENT on his knee. Everyone wants this defense to get back to its top 5 form, well as they say, It Starts Up Front. And if Tommie Harris is still taking every other play off and not taking his rehab seriously this year, it will not bode well for the rest of the defense. Now he did show me last year that he can finish a season "healthy" which I thought was a big concern for him, but to his credit he did finish it.
On the season Harris finished with 5 sacks, which isn't all that terrible, but he also failed to record a sack in the last 4 games of the season. So he proved he finish a season out, now he needs to show he can play at a high level every game for a 16, no check that, a 19 game season as he did in his 3 Pro Bowl seasons.
LEAVE CUTLER ALONE
I don't get it, I really don't get it. I open up my Chicago Sun Times this morning as I do every morning. Looking for the latest news on my beloved Chicago Bears and how OTAs are going. Instead I get this article, front and center first page of the sports, HEY, JAY, DON"T FLAME THE FANS, written by Neil Hayes. And so its begun, its only taken what, about 61 days since the trade was made and certain bloggers and media members have already found a flaw. He hasn't even played a game, let alone practiced in full pads and the media is already trying to find things wrong with this guy. I guess writing about his laser rocket precision throwing arm can get a little boring at times huh. But seriously, don't tell me he's already on the bad side of the fans Neil Hayes, because he's not, he also doesn't have to go Mongo McMichael on everyone and sign for every single person in the stadium or at the club. He can if he wants, but he doesn't have to. Neil also suggests buying " a round on the house", now as tight as that would be, to have Jay Cutler buy me a drink at the bar, I don't expect him to do that nor do I expect to sign my new Cutler jersey either. I expect him to do one thing, WIN, thats it. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I think certain circles need to ease off the ropes with Cutler, its not like hes Brett Favre and this is a one year and gone type of situation. He'll be here for the better part of a decade, hopefully longer. And I'm in no rush to have his autograph, it will come sooner or later with all the training camps(57 DAYS AWAY!!!) and bears expo visits I expect to be at, as I am every year. A perfect time to get such an autograh, not at a Cubs game. At the Expo this year during the Q and A a kid asked Jay how many touchdowns he would have this year and Cutler responded "How many do you want?". The kid said 30 and Cutler said "We can do 30." He also said hes excited to come back from Lambeau Field 1 - 0. That right there showed me Jay knows full and well the expectations that lay on his shoulders. And no amount of autograph signings or car dealership commercials or rounds of drinks at the bar are going to fulfill those expectations. Going 12-4, handling the Packers, throwing 30 TD passes, making the playoffs, competing for a Super Bowl title, avenging the Ghosts of Quarterbacks Past.....thats the stuff that should be on Jay Cutlers mind, thats how you get immortalized by Bears fans. The autograph and photo seekers will have to wait their turn, but remember hes going to be here a long, long time and thats the most exciting part about it.
