Tim Sylvia...
Tonight was one of the most nerve racking nights for me as a MMA fan. At Adrenaline IV Tim Sylvia took on Jason Riley in what was basically an old fashion WWF career match. It was pretty simple really, If Tim lost he was done, he was in a way fighting one of the biggest matches of his career. Most of you know by now I am friends with Tim, and am constantly defending his character. So to watch a person who I am not only a fan of, but a good friend to, go through this career downfall...it's been pretty rough. I just wanted to express how personally excited I was to see him get back in the win column. Now I know there will be those of you who will say that it isn't a big deal because Riley was a nobody, but to Tim and his fans it is a big deal. Anytime we as humans are at the bottom of the moutain all we can do is go up. Tim took his first step back up tonight with a KO victory! I would love to see him get a few wins in a row and get into the mix in Stikeforce's HW division. The picture I have included is of Tim and I, feel free to make fun. =-)

Rodney King wants to box?
I found an interested story over at MMASCOOPS.COM:
(Boothwyn, PA) - Rodney King is known throughout the world as the man who pleaded with the nation, "Can’t we all get along?" Recently his sobriety was put to the test on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" on VH1, where the gentle giant owned up to his addiction and sought extensive treatment in order to save his life and become a better father for his children. Now, he is ready for a new challenge; he’s stepping into the boxing ring in order to face some challenging opponents.
"It’s time now. And, I’m ready!" King exclaimed. "I’m ready to put my gloves on and face my challengers in the boxing ring." King has always been an athlete and looks forward to his foray into celebrity boxing.
Upon being approached to fight with the Celebrity Boxing Federation (CBF), King issued a challenge to all comers and will be the headliner on the card of the upcoming Celebrity Boxing 11, presented by the CBF.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 12 at 8:00 p.m. at the Maple Zone Sports & Fitness Center in Boothwyn, PA.
"It doesn’t even bother me, not knowing who I’ll fight yet, because the result is a done deal," Kings says with supreme confidence. "I’m winning. Period."
King, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 250 pounds, will take on a to-be-determined celebrity challenger"as long as he weighs at least 200 pounds.
Those who deem themselves worthy of stepping into the ring against King are being asked to send an e-mail to celebrityboxing@gmail.com.
Rodney King knows a little about street fighting, having grown up and spending portions of his life in tough, urban areas around California. That kind of personal experience gives him the ability to face his opponent head on as he enters the world of celebrity boxing.
For ticket information, contact Center Stage Tickets at 800-677-8499, or Maple Zone Sports & Fitness Center at 610-358-5500.
"I’ve seen it all, man," King says. "Going into that ring doesn’t scare me a bit."
King has decided to present Boys & Girls Clubs of America with a portion of his celebrity boxing pay-per-view proceeds in order to support, inspire and help young people realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. For more information about BGCA, visit www.bgca.org.
The possiblities of opponents are endless, but I'll put a few I think could happen in a poll. Feel free to add more suggestions in the comments.
Rampage Explains King Mo Spat
To the up & coming fighters… July 25th, 2009 | by Rampage
My bad if I don’t watch all the fights out there. I apologize for not knowing a lot of you up & coming fighters. I noticed that I met some of you guys in the past & I didn’t recognize who you are.. but honestly I don’t watch fighting that much. I don’t want people to take it the wrong way but I wasn’t a fan of the sport before I started fighting.
Now this punk ass dude named King Mo is all butthurt because I don’t know who the hell he is. Straight up, if you’re not one of my friends or fighting one of my friends, or a potential later opponent.. I might not get a chance to watch your fight. So… I didn’t know who the hell King Mo was & now he crying like a little girl saying that he met me a long time ago when I was fighting at KOTC & he said I shined him cause I was talking to four people when he introduced himself. Now this guy running his mouth, but if I was him I would shut the hell up cause he seriously don’t want none.
People straight up.. if you guys ever bump into me, treat me as a normal guy or the way you would like to be treated. If I’m talking to people, or in the club dancing with a hot chick, or with my kids, or eating, or in the restroom with my dick in my hand pissing… it’s probably a bad time to talk to me or ask for a picture. Other than that, you’ll see I’m just like everybody else & I like to be treated like that. & if you’re a up & coming fighter, don’t assume that I know you or seen you fight. Let me know that you’re a fighter so we won’t have the same problems like King Mo over here. Cause King Mo would be half cool if he didn’t have those gay ass nipple rings & didn’t talk so much!!
In case you missed it you can watch it HERE

Updated: Kimo Leopoldo NOT Dead at the Age of 41

Note from the BloodyElbow staff: This is a rumor that was happily proved to be false.
Some unfortunate bad news being reported over at the UG by Reggie Warren Sr:
Greg Wilson of Newport BJJ Academy just called to give me the terrible news
BJJ Black Belt and UFC, Pride, K-1, Shoot Box, and WFA veteran Kimo Leopaldo died from complications from a heart attack earlier tonight at St Fancis Hospital in Costa Rica
He was 41 years old and a good friend and instructor to Greg.
To MMA fans he was an old school veteran that showed the world Royce Gracie was beatable.
Kimo fought some of the who's who of early NHB:
Royce Gracie
Ken Shamrock
Tank Abbott
Tim Lajick
Wes Sims
Dan Severn
Brian Johnston
Bam Bam Bigalow (no joke)
Kazushi Sakuraba
Paul Varelens
Pat Smith
and one hell of a cocaine habit
And through it all did his best to spread the message of Jesus Christ from his NHB platform and touched a lot of lives in and out of MMA
R.I.P. Kimo
This sad news is CONFIRMED HERE
All I can say is wow...that's not much older than me. RIP KIMO

UFC vs NFL
Here is an interesting article over at Profootballtalk.com, which is probably the busiest website about pro football. It is one writers opinion about some quotes Dana White has said about the UFC trying to be the biggest sport in the world.

UFC 100 Drinking Game
Ok, we all are excited for UFC 100, let's make an extra special drinking game for this event...Here are a few that I had in mind. I'm counting on you guys to come up with some new ones too!
Take a drink:
-Whenever the words "UFC 100" are spoken
-Whenever they plug the next season of TUF featuring Rampage/Rashad
-Whenever Kimbo's name is said
-Whenever Rogan disagrees with Goldy
-Whenever a celebrity is shown on camera (not a fighter)
Take a chug:
-If/when a belt switches hands
-If you hear an annoying British accent from one of the fighters following the fight
-Every time an under card fight is shown
Slam your whole drink:
-If you hear a FEDOR chant...
-If guest ring girl Holly falls down
-If any fight goes to decision
-Any time a fighter in the crowd shadow boxes into the camera (Clay Guida)
Go change your pants:
-If Fedor comes in the cage and faces off with the winner of Lesnar/Mir (Yeah right)
-If Buffer breaks out the "360" Come on Bruce, there is no better time than now!

Tim Sylvia is in CT for his role in the new Halloween. He is doing some stunts for Michael Myers character. Filming starts tomorrow.
Will we see the "Buffer 360" at UFC 100?
With UFC 100 right around the corner, one of the biggest unanswered questions still remains. Will we see the "Buffer 360" during the Main Event introductions? A few months back Nick Thomas posted a fanshot HERE of Buffer and Rogan discussing the possibility of this new patented move. Should he choose to unveil the 360, it will be the biggest thing since Ben Stiller's character released his "Magnum" look in the movie Zoolander. If Buffer chooses to bust it out, few will even care, about the outcome of the Heavyweight Title battle between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir. In the video Rogan says he will "Sh*t his pants" if the 360 comes to life. Me too Joe, me too...
Should the UFC create a "Super Heavyweight" division?
With all the hype going into UFC100 behind Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir, it got me thinking about the last few times Brock Lesnar has fought. I will be the first to say that any fighter should use his or her best abilities to beat an opponent, whether it's speed, power, reach or in Brock's case, his SIZE. It is pretty obvious to me that his size or weight has partially got him where he is today in the UFC. I think you will be hard pressed to find anybody who actually thinks Brock has more MMA skills/tools than say Randy Couture, but yet Brock was able to finsh him in Donkey Kong fashion. My suggesting a "super hw" division isn't just because of Brock, he is just the obvious example. There is a lot of guys that would fit into this division should it be created. Lets say there was a HW division from 205 to 240 lbs. That would put the SHW division from 240 to whatever the ceiling weight limit would be. I think they should have it be around 275-280 lbs. Lets take a look at who would currently fit into this category of SH. The number I am using are directly off the UFC's website for their current roster of HW fighters.
Mostapha Al-Turk 242 lbs.
Shane Carwin 262 lbs.
Gabriel Gonzaga 242 lbs.
Tim Hague 265 lbs.
Antoni Hardonk 245 lbs.
Heath Herring 250 lbs.
Cheick Kongo 240 lbs.
Brock Lesnar 265 lbs.
Justin McCully 240 lbs.
Frank Mir 240 lbs.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 240 lbs. (I just realized he has every vowel in his last name)
Cain Velasquez 240 lbs.
Mike Wessel 260 lbs.
All of these fighters, plus not to mention some of the big boys that will be coming in after the next TUF season, would in my opinion make for enough decent match-ups to carry its own division. I realize some of these guys would cut and try to get down to the HW division, but maybe some would bulk up a little bit and try their chance as a SHW first. Not only would this create a new division, but maybe it would entice some 205's to come up and try their luck at HW. Once again for fun sake, lets look at who maybe would take the shot at jumping to HW from 205.
Houston Alexander
Rashad Evans
Forrest Griffin
Matt Hamil
Rampage Jackson
Chuck Liddell
Shogun Rua
Thaigo Silva
Brandon Vera
Compile those possible names with the left over lighter HW from the original division and I think you have yourself enough big names to keep the interest in all divisions. Hopefully, it would create a small ripple effect down though out the other divisions and let guys that normally cut a bit too much weight feel more comfortable in fighting up a class. I think eventually the UFC will need this to create new and exciting match ups without having to have "catch weight" fights. With the weight classes as they are now things could get stale faster than they can develop new talent, so i think 155, 170, 185, 205, 240 and 275 just makes sense. Now on to your thoughts...here is the poll!

Tim Sylvia's Boxing Match Cancelled, Will Now Be an MMA Fight
Frontpaged by Kid Nate.
I saw that Bruz created a FanPost about Tim Sylvia and Ray Mercers boxing match being canceled. I immediately called Tim's trainer who is down in Alabama with Tim. He told me the fight had been canceled and if they tried to have a boxing match the police would arrest Ray, Tim and Monte Cox. They have since agreed to turn it into a MMA fight and it will go on as the main event at Adrenaline III. This obviously swings the fight in Tim's advantage since Kimbo Slice was able to finish Mercer off in their MMA bout with a choke. I'm glad they were able to work something out, as both fighters have trained for months and deserve a payday for it.

Cro Cop Vs Hong-man Choi on NYE? WTF!
Wow, it's doesn't seem like it was that long ago that Cro-Cop was destroying everything in his path. The announcement of this fight just makes me cringe at the thought of it. Hong-man Choi is freshly coming of a good ol' fashion whupping at the hands of Ray Sefo. (K1 rules) Sefo, coming off of a 6 loss K1 match streak handled Choi with ease. Cro-Cop needs to either quit running from real opponents or just flat out retire before he totally ruins what is left of his reputation. Here is a quote from Cro-Cops blog courtesy of mmascoops.com:
"I'm excited to let you know that I have accepted DREAM's offer to fight against Hong-man Choi on December 31 at Dynamite show. We arranged all details and the contract has been signed - the fight is officialy on.
I must say I'm happy with this opportunity to fight again in this year. This wasn't the best year for me and I'm hoping that I'll end it in a good spirit. I'm also happy to fight again in Japan at New Year's Eve, which is always truly a fantastic experience...
So how do I feel about this fight? I already told you that I'm excited and it's really a problem for me to accept this fight with only 14 days left to go. I've been training hard after my last fight and I'm ready to face the Korean giant. When you fight the opponent of that size, you just have to take the fight very seriously. Under MMA rules he's not experienced, but he's big and strong and that makes him dangerous.
Although I'm still having some difficulties with my old injuries there won't be any excuses left in case of a bad result. I'll handle this issues in January, but against Choi I'll be ready and nothing will stop me this time. I'll just do my best and end this year with a win hopefully. Then I'll focus on 2009 and work on the further steps in my career.
Thank you for being patient when waiting for this announcement and thank you from bottom of my heart for your huge support. Don't miss the show and have fun with your famillies and friends until then!"
In my opinion, the only interesting part of the fight is to see if Mirko can head kick Choi or not.

Anderson Silva to fight one of the LHW losers from UFC 92???
MMASCOOPS.com has the article here:
The reports that are surfacing are mentioning that Anderson Silva's next opponent will be one of the two losers from UFC 92's two Light Heavyweight showdowns.
This would put Wanderlei Silva, Quinton Jackson, Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans as potential opponents for Silva for the UFC's February card at the O2 Arena.
I for one am salivating at him fighting any of the four fighters!! What do you guys think would be his toughest matchup? In my opinion, I think Forrest would have the best shot...I think he has the best chin out of all four guys. Although, Rampage, Rashad and Wand all have that one hit KO power!!!!!! Please UFC, LET THIS HAPPEN!!!

Ton ten Ufc fights ever??
I stumbled across this link today and though I'd share it with everyone....Here is a version of their "Top ten Ufc fights ever". What do you guys think? Who do you think got left out??? I feel it's a pretty good list. I have Liddell v Wand at the top of my list, but then again I saw it in person and could feel the energy in the air that night.
Here is the link:
I have to get this off my chest...don't hate me!
I'm so sick of hearing about Randy Couture as being one of the greatest fighters ever....He is the most over-rated fighter ever! He has fought 7 time since 2004, going 4-3 in those fights. 16-8 in his career, never in my life have i seen such celebrated mediocrity (besides Greg Focker's 8th place ribbons in Meet the Fockers). Am I the only person in the world who see's this? Don't get me wrong, I'd let Randy babysit my kids but i'm not on his jock thinking he's one of the greatest.
