BJ (Brandon Jennings) > Curry, Monta, and most of the NBA *updated*
Sorry guys but the debate is over about ROY. Now it's about MVP. I'm happy he's on a team with a better owner, BJ would have been a waste of talent playing for the Golden State Chris Cohan's. He is amazing. In the 3rd q at one point you could hear people chanting "MVP". Milwaukee has been going nuts. Did you hear the crowd? It sounds like a college basketball game. They have special chants for each player on the opposing team. (For example, when Acie Law was shooting free throws they chanted "A.C.-Slater".)
I've been watching their games on league pass and that fanbase has been revived.
That kid, BJ, who MANY OF US liked when he came to Oakland and WANTED TO DRAFT, was passed up by the Warriors for one reason only: MONTA ELLIS.
Monta was crying about us going for a PG, and we grabbed Curry with the excuse that he was the "best available player". But the coaches liked BJ, and he liked the Dubs. Tonight they were forced into running, and look how he played! Imagine if he played that style every night!
Let's think about other Compton PG's we've had on our team:
Gilbert Arenas - Lost him
Baron Davis - Lost him
.... so why wouldn't we want Jennings? Man, oh man. I was young when we passed up on KG and Kobe and all those other dudes, so I didn't understand what it felt like then. But here it is happening again. Funny how history repeats.
One day my kids will look back and say "dad, why didn't the Warriors draft Brandon Jennings?"
And I'll just reply: "I don't know son, I don't know."
UPDATE:
Here are 2 previous FanPosts that discussed this topic. I'm not a bandwagon, I've been pushing for this guy since before the draft.

Back off Nellie and Jack: It's ROWELL, trick!

UPDATE 2:
Not to pour salt in the wound but...

"So lemme get this straight, you have never thought about riding a moped?"

"Snap that sh*%, just so y'all can remember what you coulda had in case y'all don't draft me"

"Ricky who? Warriors son..."
And finally, people shoulda known this guy was the real deal by the way he forced his uninvited entrance to the draft!!!!
Back off Nellie and Jack: It's ROWELL, trick!
Props to faetati for posting the CBS link about Nellie possibly quitting. But he missed a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE part of that article that makes more sense than the silly rumor that Nellie will quit a few days before he will break the world record for wins.
Again, here's the link:
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/12514475/nelsons-abrasive-style-might-have-him-on-way-out
And here is the craziest part of the article, about what Rowell promised to Jack and Ellis earlier this summer which makes a lot of sense:
Jackson said Friday he's not angry with Nelson, but rather with the fact that he was given the impression the Warriors would be "more of a veteran team" this season. Though Jackson didn't elaborate, a person familiar with the situation said his anger -- and Ellis' -- stems from a dinner meeting with Rowell at the end of last season in which the Warriors' president vowed to surround them with a playoff-caliber supporting cast. According to the source, Rowell told the players he was going to build around them and trade the No. 7 pick, because adding a rookie "isn't going to help us."
The supporting cast that Jackson and Ellis were promised could have included Amar'e Stoudemire. But a trade with Phoenix fell apart on draft night, when Nelson refused to part with the pick and instead selected Curry, who is the same player as Ellis, only younger. Ellis couldn't believe it. Jackson was furious. And here we are today.
Please undertand, this was not Nellie's fault. Nellie is going to give his opinion as a coach. But the bottom line is, Rowell is the man who makes these decisiosn. If he always listend to Nellie, we would have kept Baron Davis. The majority of sources say Mullie, Nellie, and the team wanted to keep Baron and offer that 3 year contract and Rowell was the one who nixed it. No one but Rowell wanted to give Jack all that crazy money, and Rowell gave "air-ball" Maggette that ridiculous contract, not Mullie. So if you're going to tell me that Nellie canceled that trade, you're smoking. Rowell agreed to that. Rowell is a freaking moron to say the least.
In retrospect, getting Amare would have been the right thing to do. We got a good rookie, but first of all, he wasn't the best available (obviously it's Brandon Jennings, most of us could see that within the first week but some people *ehem Sleepy ehem* were in denial, but that will end TONIGHT LMAO), and second of all, we've been young for too long so it was time to get a veteran quick and move on with the young guys we have! Rowell wasn't man enough to live up to what he promised our best players.
And now Rowell is trying to be everyone's friend, and the players are upset because they don't feel there is anyone they can talk to:
What's worse, one of the people said, is that the players have to endure laughable team president Robert Rowell trying to be their pal -- the way he did when he usurped then-GM Chris Mullin's authority and signed Jackson to a three-year, $28 million extension last November. Yes, the very same extension that is preventing Golden State from being able to trade him.
"Rowell tries to be their friend, and they laugh at him," one of the sources said. "They don't respect that. ... All these problems and fights in the locker room come from the fact that there is no one the players feel they can communicate with. Nobody."
What a joke. Why don't we all make signs that say "Fire Rowell" on one side and "Sell, Cohan!" on the back?! It would look like the We Believe signs. Anyone got a printing hookup of some sort? Let's pitch in money, mass print them, and mass distribute them in the parking lot one night on a nationally televised game or something. We need the world to know that we are against the Owner and President first before we are against anyone else! Why bandaid the team by trading Monta, Jack or firing Nellie? The problems will continue! Why not fix the real problem first!!!
Monta hurt us this offseason: Brandon Jennings!
MY THEORY: The only reason we didn't go with Brandon Jennings in the draft is because Monta Ellis would have taken it as a deliberate attempt to get a new PG, rather than go with Curry who we were able to say was "the best ranked player" available when we picked. If you all recall, he worked out for the Warriors and said it went really well and that he enjoyed our up-tempo style and thought he'd fit in well. The coaches liked him, I'm sure Nellie was gushing, but because of Monta being a damn baby (who can't back up his opinion that we don't need a PG), we missed on this guy. I knew he would be really good, and now guess what?
BRANDON JENNINGS IS THE HOTTEST ROOKIE IN THE NBA!!!!! He's the Compton version of Gilbert Arenas. He's been hot right out the gate, playing like an All Star, hands down the best Milwaukee Buck in YEARS.
THE GUY IS AMAZING!!!!!!
Curry is a great player, probably our best Warrior (especially if we lose Jack and while AR4 gets back in rhythm), but Jennings is better than any player on our team. And I love my dubs, but I have to give props where it's due.
Brandon Jennings, way to show David Stern and the NBA who's boss!!!! I salute you!
.. and Monta? Goto clutch school man!!!

Help! Need to find Warriors Shooting Shirt
Hey everyone! So I'm sure you've all noticed by now the W's have new warm up/shooting shirts. NBA.com released new shooting shirts today for all teams featuring name and # on the front, however,I cannot find the new warmup shirts the W's wear anywhere! Can someone tell me if they can find it somewhere??? I need this!
NBA.com: http://store.nba.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3769393&cp=3895100

You'll notice the stripes are blue, not golden gate orange like the ones the W's wear:

I know everything will be re-branded next year but, I need something for this year!!!
Did Al Harrington just threaten NELLIE?!
Now wait a minute! I heard the KNBR interview (mentioned in a fanshot below) and I was browsing through the web and everyone seems to be citing this one line from Al Harrington's recent interview on KNBR:
"I just didn’t feel like Coach respected me as a man and I just felt like I had to make a move before I did something that I would regret."
Are you serious Al? Do something you would regret? What the heck are you talking about buddy? Someone on the web said this reminded them of (sadly) the SPREWELL incident! Are you saying you were afraid you would try to hurt coach? First of all, coach is bigger than you and would whoop you. Second of all, there's no need to make threats if you feel your coach isn't respecting you. And third of all, you should have handled yourself a little better on the radio considering this man saved your best friend's career.
I wonder how Jack feels about this? Probably feels stuck in the middle, I really feel bad for him.
I dunno Al, I don'tt think you should have said that.
What do you guys think?

UPDATE: Closest thing to a recap/boxscore with AR4's info:

Anthony Randolph, PF, Golden State
Showcase stats: 12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 4-8 fg, 1-1 3pt, 3-4 ft
Randolph showed flashes of greatness with a pair of coast-to-coast dunks on Saturday. Needs to get stronger, obviously, but was playing out of position (at center) at times during the camp. He also needs to slow down a bit, which will help his decision-making.

Warriors NOT for sale - Another TK Myth
Rowell spoke to the media after the first LVSL game and denied that the Warriors are for sale.
"The Golden State Warriors are not for sale," Rowell said. "There is not a 'For Sale' sign up."
As if that wasn't enough, Rowell showed a little irritation in regards to the rumor not having any detail to begin with.
Sources told the Bay Area News Group that Cohan wanted a good price for the franchise.
"What price?" Rowell said. "No offer was made."
Don't like Bobby, but he's got a point, how could these sources not throw out a number or ballpark figure? Hmmm. Good 'ol Kawakami, consistently getting our hopes up!
But forget about TK, you gotta hand it to the SJ Mercury. The same place that starts the rumor, disproves it. At the end of the day, we're the suckers reading their newspapers/blogs. Can't blame it all on TK. The best part of it? I'm still gonna keep reading their stuff ha ha.
Waaaaaarrriorrrrr fans desparate for hope!
SF Chron Rips Kawakami
First time I've seen something like this in Bay Area media. Someone on SFGate ripped Kawakami for spreading the Cohan rumor as well as many other rumors recently.
The disconcerning thing about the situation is that Kawakami, who reports the heck out of the NBA, is spouting this rumor. He's been burnt by unnamed sources time and again, admits that fact and still goes forward with this one.
Funny thing is I found out about this through Kawakami's own blog lol. Kind of makes you wonder, is he more of a trouble maker or more of a drama queen? Eh, anyways, just thought I'd share this with you guys.
While I'm here, I'll make some predictions in regards to the hot topics this summer:
Marion - if he'd get the same money here as he would many other places, he won't come here.
Amare - not happening, not confident enough in his ability to boost this team to playoff contention.
Goose - Will be motivated after hearing his name thrown around so much in trade talk.
The NBEL (National Basketball Association's Eastern League) - May appear to be getting big names, but is getting really old really fast. I'd rather keep our strong youth.

The END of the SUNS, be happy!
We have a right to be pessimistic given the awful luck we've had over the years - (first image I get in my mind is the drafting of B. Wright with hopes of landing KG, ouch!) There are countless reasons to be pessimistic. But if you take a deep breath, sit back for a second and soak it all in, it's easy to see what's happening: The Suns are coming to an end. We're about to pass them up.
The media is going nuts with this trade babble because it is evident. I SENSED IT as soon as that idiot Kerr went from being one of the worst writers in the history of Yahoo! Sports to GM of the Suns. We all sensed it when Shaq became a Sun. We all sensed it when Marion left. We all sensed it when D'Antoni left. We all sensed it when Amare started being vocal. We all sensed it when Nash started to show serious signs of age. And we all sensed it when the Suns traded Shaq for nothing.
AND NELLIE SENSES IT BECAUSE HE HAS THOSE F*&^&*$ BY THE BALLS.
The truth is, we have the best offer for Amare even WITHOUT Curry. There was no deal on the table, and we know it. There were just some serious discussions before we drafted our guy. Let's give Nellie credit, you can criticize his coaching/defense but overall Don Nelson is an excellent GM/drafter. The media is having a field day because this trade will officially end the Suns status as a playoff team/contender. It was a great run. I've enjoyed watching them and their style over the years, especially those classic 300 point games against the Dubs. But I'm enjoying all this media attention because I can see it in the Phoenix media's tone. They are bitter and desparate to try and stir something up. SORRY GUYS! TOO LATE!
For us, though we can debate it all day long, the bottom line is trading Andris (and scrubs) for Amar'e really makes us a better team and almost a sure lock as a playoff team. Amar'e has risks, but he's an all star. He'll get voted in for sure and fans aren't stupid, they vote for a reason.
Did you think the Suns would drift away silently? Their media is way more on their side. We are stuck with individuals like a certain writer whose name I cannot mention for fear of getting disciplined. But y'all know who I'm talkin about. Wish our media had more "homers". (BTW where is Janny Hu?! I miss her!)
Bottom line, Nellie is still a G, Steve Kerr is just a mooch that is TO THIS DAY still benefiting from being on a team with Michael Jordan, and we're gonna finish this offseason with Curry, a backup PG and Amar'e while only giving up Andris. I'd give that offseason an A grade.
PEACE OUT SUNS!

VIDEO: Anthony Randolph vs Brandon Jennings vs Tyreke Evans in REAL GAME!
Holy smokes how the heck did I not know about this? Anthony Randolph, Brandon Jennings, and Tyreke Evans all played a game together a few years ago in Rucker's Park, and the game was documented in Gunnin for that #1 Spot! How did I not know about this? The dudes were all in high school, and players such as Michael Beasley and Kevin Love were also part of the event.
(Where is facebook tagging when you need it.) OK, first row, 2nd from the right = AR4. Top row, top left corner = The Warriors future draft pick. 3rd row from bottom, 2nd player from right = Tyreke Evans (I think?!)
Does anyone know where I can "preview" this movie online?
Introduction, and my 1st Trade Rumor/Proposal
Watsup everyone!
I am new here and wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading this blog for a while but finally had to participate. I am a die hard Warrior and especially AR4 fan. This guy is the truth, and is our future. I could tell by the way he cried when he was benched earlier in the season. A grown man, crying, because he wanted to win so bad. When he took the criticism to heart and improved, I knew that this guy is it. He is the chosen one!
So on to my first trade proposal! I propose we do the following:
(I am going to quote myself here to make this look more legitimate)
- Ask the Grizzlies to draft Ricky Rubio instead of Thabeet, who clearly is dodging them by claiming an "injury" in order to miss his Memphis workout and go speak to other teams.- Draft Jordan Hill.
- Trade Jordan Hill, Monta Ellis, Atma Brother 1 and Tim Kawakami to Memphis for Ricky Rubio, any amateur blogger in Tennessee, and any freaking contracts the Grizzlies want to get rid of. I would even be open to a 3rd team getting involved in order to make the numbers work, by maybe throwing in a lousy contract like that of... (wait for it... wait for it...) ADONAL FOYLE.
(BTW, did it annoy anybody seeing 4 ex Warriors in the NBA finals? Powell, Mbenga, Pietrus and Foyle to name a few. )
Should this rumor not prove true, after all, 99.99% of trade rumors never happen, then I would be OK with drafting Brandon Jennings. This is not just because I feel he fits a need, it's because he both fits a need and is the best player available at the 7 spot. That's my opinion.
PLEASE REC MY POST IT'S MY FIRST ONE!
