Lighthouse Hockey One Christmas Wish

If you could have one Christmas wish for these here Icelanders, what would it be? I have thought about this long and hard (about 30 seconds while I was making coffee) and my one wish would be some sort of stadium resolution. I know some of you may put that low on the priority of immediate needs for this franchise and I understand that.

I honestly thought this year was going to be different. I do believe there is some improvement, my patience is wearing thin. The 2015 date just hangs over everything. Will these players be developed just in time to parade the cup down the streets of Hamilton (I wish I knew a street in Hamilton {not really}). I personally would just watch with more patience and concentrate on the improvement, even at a turtles pace, if I knew they would at least be in the Tri State area.

I realize this is pie in the sky request at this point and time, but Santa hook me up bro!

Bring On The Cats Teeney Weeney U

As I was watching the Cowboys/Skins the other night and noticed Brandon Banks returning kickoffs, it occurred to me that we really have cornered the market on undersized skill player. Besides Banks I was trying to think of others. Is this an oddity just to us? Most of these guys are not just fringe players either,  most at least sniffed the show (so far)

Sproles

David Allen

Aaron Lockett

Rose

Demarcus Robinson

Pease

Jon Hubert

Am I forgetting anyone?

Pride Of Detroit Jason Hanson

As I was contemplating buying a new Jersey for the upcoming season... I came across a Jason Hanson jersey and it got me to thinking. Would the Lions retire his #4 when it is all said and done?

The fact that he is still in the NFL after whatever it is 19 yrs or so is amazing.

The fact that he is on the same team for that time is amazing.

The fact that the team is the Lions is the most amazing and probably deserves the congressional medal of honor.

Peninsula is Mightier Who now becomes the most annoying rival (Team and Fan base)?

The Knicks- arrogant ever since that Jordan "Mecca" comment but have nothing to root for so it may be forgotten. Originally from NJ and know this is an annoying bunch

Boston-  Trash talking players, fan base with annoying accents (just my opinion) and once again arrogant. Horrible announcer Tommy Heinson calling games with such homer-ism it makes it unwatchable.

Chicago-  I think can grow into the biggest advisory in the coming years due to deep roster, down low presence. Lack secondary scoring punch.  Dont know much about Bulls fans except I just picture SNL cast doing da Bulls.

Orlando- Natural rival, many (used to be Knick) fans in Orlando who might be jumping ship. Big man will be hard to handle. Team is really going to be on the fence, they have to make another move (maybe in the offseason). I see Paul or Deron Williams here.

Lighthouse Hockey SI Article

I guess bad press is better than no press at all. This is an article from SI. COM Jim Kelley. Just more of the same old stuff. Rehashing the past, and bad fortune this season.

On another note Split Squad games suck.. It is a waste, no chemistry is developed, this is not Baseball where individuals can work on their hitting, pitching etc. Just Silly

I realize this is a who gives a shit post, but it is August and hot in Atlanta so I have cabin fever and I am bored. One more Word

Lighthouse Hockey Not that I am a conspiracy theorist type person but...

DP's latest injury is B.S.  This is an elaborate scheme by Frank Cashen Snow in order to move one of the other goaltenders. He didnt like the offers that were coming in because the other GM's knew that he was under the gun and HAD to make a move on one of his netminders, this potential DP 'swelling' may cause some teams (SECOND city, filthadelphia) to step up their game  and offer a higher pick

or

sigh...he is simply just hurt again and in that case I am sick of it.. stick with Roleson and maybe trade him draft day or for something else for the expiring contact if you dont get what you want now.

Lighthouse Hockey Of Some interest to old Newsday readers

http://www.observer.com/2010/media/after-three-months-only-35-subscriptions-newsdays-web-site

This is so funny... I was asking my father what he was thinking ....I would hate him if he wasn't so incompetent with the Rangers. I hope the advertisers pull. Everything this spoiled little boy touches turns to Dookie. Keep playin that guitar Jimmy boy, maybe Kevin Bacon or Billy Bob Thornton will ask you to be in one of there bands.

Lighthouse Hockey Islanders 3rd jersey vote

[Editor's Note: I'm front-paging this FanPost from a new member here -- a naked plea for votes -- purely in the name of all that is right and holy for classic jersey goodness. Honk if you love the retro third jerseys. Frankly, I'm just glad all of the candidates are actual retro jerseys rather than some cartoon or diagonal monstrosity. In comments, your own jersey opinions or memories are always welcome. --Dominik]

We are pulling up the rear in this vote. Please let the NHL know. The uniform brings me back to when I was a youngster and the last real dynasty in sports was in place. Don't really have anything more to say, but I am required to post at least 75 words.

OK now I am at 67 words, so I am adding this sentence: I love the 3rd (throwback jersey).

[Editor: Exactly. Ideally you want a FanPost to be longer, but we'll make an exception for third-jersey electioneering.]
