The 24 QB's moving on to the next round were added but Dilfer made an executive decision and decided to add a 25th, which was Cockerille. I wonder if this will improve his rankings and add a star ??? I guess it will depend on whether or not he makes the cut of 11.

I am not usually one to create fan post but the fact that I would make two in one night is even more rare. I saw this article on ESPN and I had to share. The link below is an ESPN article about Maryland's new pride uniforms for basketball.

It seems that Testudo Times has hit the big time and is now being referenced by ESPN, which includes a link to the sight and a name drop/quote from Ben in the article. Also, the site has become so big that rumors started on this website now have to be addressed by the school as well... Congrats to everyone who follows and contributes to the site!

Or... Espn has become so lazy that they don't do any real reporting and simply surf the free blogs for real news and gossip. Just a thought.

It seems we will no longer be docked three scholarships in football thanks to improved grades. See Here

I am not sure who gets credit for the improvement but hey its good news for the program especially if we are hit by the injury bug in the coming years like we were last year. This may also mean that current walk-ons will have an opportunity to receive an open scholarship. The article also describes how programs such as cross country and swimming received perfect scores and will be canceled shortly... One of RE's biggest goals when he first arrived to MD was to make the players better people on and off the field and while its hard to pin this increase on him, it does show that there is improvement. Hopefully improvements will continue off the field and on the field.

***So... I think the season the NCAA is referring to was actually the RF's last season. Well at least we receive three scholarships back.

Something to think about: We were docked 3 scholarships for academics but hasn't there been far greater violations by larger schools who received smaller penalties?

I just want to start off by saying the guy is a class act! Not to mention the guy is still sharp as a tack. I live in the DFW area and today Randy White came to my place of employment to sign autographs.

I just want to start off by saying the guy is a class act! Not to mention the guy is still sharp as a tack. I live in the DFW area and today Randy White came to my place of employment to sign autographs.

I just happen to be at the right place at the right time and ended in the front of the line. I walked up and placed my old school Terps logo down on the table for him to sign and told him “Hey I’m from Maryland and there is no way I am going to have something from the Cowboy’s in my house.” He laughed and I asked him if he still followed the team. He told me about doing fundraising in York with Edsal and how he had high hopes that Edsal could turn things around. I made the comment about keeping the local recruits at Maryland and he basically said he couldn’t agree more. He was basically saying how we need to get things turned around and was hoping that with events unfolding around the area... things looked favorable. The man was extremely nice and even asked if I wanted to get a picture with my phone. Not to mention he put his hand out for a handshake. As I was leaving the table he said something to the effect of (and I am not going to quote him) we need to make the headlines and not just because of our uniforms. Couldn’t agree more!

For a man that has his own show, in the HOF and owns a chain of BBQ joints he is very humble and down to earth. The guy is a legend and even though he played for the Cowboy’s I still respect the man and can’t say enough about how friendly he was.

Mike Sherman was fired by A&M and I was thinking that he would make a good O coordinator. I live in Texas and Aggy fans are a little too high strung and think that they deserve to win every game. I thought Sherman did a good job of putting together a tough team. And although they recruit from Texas it is very difficult for them to get good recruits considering UT, TCU, Tech, Baylor and all the out of state schools such as OU and LSU. While there season was a bit disappointing considering all the 3rd quarter failures, I think if the ball would have bounced their way a little more they could have easily have been 9-3. It seems with all the 24 hour sports networks and the blogs coaches aren't given the opportunity to build a program anymore. People want a winner right away but we sometimes forget that there are really only 60 competitive football programs in D-1, and of those teams there are 10-15 elite schools that have what it takes to actually compete at the highest level on a year to year basis. With all the millions of dollars floating around football programs are becoming very cutthroat about getting their share of the money.

I realize I was rambling a little there, but I think "yall "(the new found Texas in me coming out) get my point. That is that we need to look at Mike Sherman and we really need to stay consistent with our coaching and let the Under Armor edge work its magic. I am not saying coaches shouldn't be held accountable but bringing in a whole new system every three years like A&M will never get us anywhere. We need to stay the course, expand the fan base and figure out how to get the kids from the DMV to bleed Maryland colors. Until then we will be just another ACC basketball school.
