Near life-long Kentucky resident, alum of both Murray State and WKU, and a Cat fan since Reggie's senior year in '91. The Laettner Shot was my JFK moment; I'll always remember where I was when it went down, and I'll never, ever pull for Duke because of it

New B-Ball Cat for 2008: Donald Williams

Hat tip: KSR Who? How is it possible that UK has the most active group of fans, bloggers, and spies on the Internet, and Coach G still pulls out a recruit most of us have never heard of two months before the season starts. The dude is a machine!

Cats win big in CBS poll

You gotta read Parrish's comments on this. There's some seriously hilarious stuff here. Big Blue wins again!

Warriors match offer for Azubuike

Back to Golden State for Kelenna

Lofton to play in Turkey

Wishing the best to a Kentucky native and genuinely good guy.

Walker a bad influence?

"Pssst: Among reasons the Timberwolves were eager to trade Antoine Walker, who was dumped on Memphis, was the questionable influence he was starting to have on star Al Jefferson. " Everyone knows 'Toine hasn't always been a model NBA player, but it seems a little unfair for this journalist to take a one-line shot at him without any more details.

Packer out at CBS?

This is too good to be true! Are the basketball gods throwing UK fans a bone to counter the bone-headed comments by Dick Vitale?

Speights skips pre-draft camp

Per Andy Katz, Marreese Speights is skipping the NBA pre-draft camp in Orlando. Quoth Katz, "Big-name college players who are hyped throughout the season and considered a first-round pick and even a bubble first-round pick usually refuse to play at the camp." What do you guys make of this? Has Speights gotten a guarantee? If not, it seems to me he should be playing; I don't think anyone's calling him a lock at this point. Is he willing to put that much confidence in his ability to impress at individual workouts? Sorry, I know this isn't exactly UK-related. I just found it interesting.

No new equipment manager?

Just found this addition to Bill Keightley's Wikipedia article (started by yours truly) that states: "The Wildcats not only will not hire a new equipment manager for the 2009 season, but will in...

Bill Keightley: One Fan's Perspective

I'm only 26 years old; my "I remember when..." doesn't go back nearly as far as many people's. I can count on one hand the number of times I've been privileged to enter the hallowed walls of Rupp...

Marlon Brown

Matt Jones is reporting that the Gridiron Cats are recruiting a kid named Marlon Brown. Apparently, he's a top flight wide receiver who also fancies himself a basketball player. So much so, in...

Promoted from the Diaries: Report from row GG: Ole Miss v. UK

I was given tickets last-minute to the game last night, so for the first time in a decade (and for my wife, the first time ever) we headed to hallowed Rupp Arena. What follows are the observations...

Concerns about next year

First, let me say that I've been extraordinarily pleased with the improvement in the team since the beginning of SEC play. I don't remember ever seeing a team "flip the switch" the way this one...

Good weekend for the Cats

Let me join the throng of jubilant UK fans by saying I'm glad to see the boys beat someone of consequence this weekend. It wasn't a perfect game, but it was a win to stop the bleeding and boost the...

It's the Atlantic Sun Conference, Charlie Brown!

So we're almost a week A.G.W. (after Gardner-Webb) and the dearth of basketball is killing me. Four games in relatively rapid succession, followed by two weeks with no Cats? This is cruel and...

Starting lineup

Matt Jones is reporting a starting lineup with no Joe Crawford and no Pat Patterson. Instead, we'll see "Razor" Ramon Harris and... Mark Coury?!?! I've been reading the same reports as you guys...
