Mortenson reports Dalton was #1 QB on our Draft Board
Initial tweet from Mort:
My follow up:
@mortreport So Dalton was the #1QB on the Seahawks draft board but Carpenter was higher overall on the draft board?
His reply:
@Team_Nordin I can tell you Carpenter seen as a starter; O-line huge source of frustration; Tom Cable new O-line coach loved him
and his follow up tweet:
Some questioned Carpenter's ability to grasp NFL complexities; Seahawks put Bama OT thru some challenging football mental tests. Did well.
Does this explain Dilfer's reaction? Could our FO really be interested in a ginger? To me this backs up the talk of building the trenches put forth prior to the draft and adds to the sentiment that our FO indeed has a plan and is drafting to meet their endstate. Perhaps Dalton was #1 based on who they thought be available QB wise at 25 but did not consider him worthy of the pick. It's hard to think they had him #1 overall of all the QBs. Thoughts?
Brandon Marshall flying to Seattle Saturday
Per Adam Schefter:
"Oh boy -- Brandon Marshall expected to be in Seattle on Saturday to visit the Seahawks and see if they can hammer out an offer sheet."
Chargers release LT
Thoughts on LT as a Rent-a-RB with the Seahawks?

Why Your Team Sucks: Seattle Seahawks
Drew Magary's latest installment in his "Why Your Team Sucks" column features our beloved Hawks. I think Deadspin has pretty much shit the bed since Leitch left but Magary is still pretty funny in his diatribes. He says f*ck a lot. See? Funny.
The final sentence: "Oh, and Julius Jones is horrible."
Chris Spencer returns to practice
Please let that be our injury scare for the preseason. PLEASE!!!
Crabtree holdout likely to reach September
What a fine, upstanding football player and gentleman!
Crabtree to re-enter draft next year?
"Per a league source, agent Eugene Parker is telling the 49ers that Crabtree will sit out the season re-enter the draft in 2010, unless the team gives Crabtree what he wants." -PFT
Wow, what a douchebag.
Wahle expected to retire
Per PFT:
PFT's Aaron Wilson has been told by a league source that Seahawks guard Mike Wahle is more than likely to retire.
Nothing is final yet, but there are strong indications that it doesn't look good for Wahle.
Wahle was scheduled to undergo a physical Friday. He has struggled to recover from a shoulder injury and it was believed he was at serious risk of failing the physical.
In a related move, the Seahawks officially signed Cory Withrow Friday, according to his agent's Twitter account.
Withrow will help fill the gap left left by Wahle. Second-round pick Max Unger will be even more vital to the team.
Wahle's best days came with the Packers, where he made a Pro Bowl.
Packers G.M. Ted Thompson was sharply criticized for letting Wahle and teammate Marco Rivera walk after the 2004 season, but both offensive linemen struggled away from Green Bay.
