Sorry Dudes, But I Picked for the Thunder at #25 in the SBN Mock Draft

You guys got Sam Young. Mr. P was gone, and Scott couldn't figure out how to contact 4D and DoD, therefore the burden was in my hands.

Chad Ford's Newest Mock 6.0 - Henderson to the Suns?

Chad Ford released his newest mock draft today and surprisingly has Gerald Henderson slipping down to the Suns at #14.

The Value of a D-League Player

People wonder how developing players in the D-League would translate to the NBA. Here's an article discussing that very topic.

D-League Players' Production in the NBA

The Thunder seem pretty interested in talent development, and thus will more than likely make good use of their D-League affiliate over the next few years. Here is a little something I wrote about what you NBAers can expect from your D-League players when they make the transition to the big leagues.

A Case for Patty Mills

Over at Ridiculous Upside, we've got about 15 mock drafts going simultaneously right now. I'm sure in at least one of them we've got Patty Mills, a point guard out of St. Mary's, going to Blazers. I think he would be an interesting addition to your team; he brings speed, shooting, and craftiness with the ball. Here's a post I wrote on him.

A Case for Patty Mills

Over at RU, our resident mock-ologist has Patrick Mills of St Mary's going late in the 1st round to you guys, The Thunder. As such, I thought I would share my post on Patty and how undervalued he is in this year's PG crop. Take a look, it's on a webpage, it's a Patty Mills Rainbow.....

Gamut

In the past over at Ridiculous Upside we've kicked around some ideas about what to name the new Springfield franchise in the D-League. The newest idea was naming them the Springfield Gamuts....This completely nonsensical name would seem a perfect fit in a League full of Mad Ants and Bay Hawks, and I just happened to score a copy of their first promo poster.

Dahntay Jones speaks about his time in the D-League

Budding new NBA Playoffs star, Dahntay Jones, was interviewed about his ascension from Memphis castoff, to D-League stalwart, to his most recent stint with the Denver Nuggets. This is an interesting read with a decidedly anti-D-League flair....I blame the author, Dave D'Alessandro, whose nickname in college was apparently Davie Downer.

Weak Draft? Re-Drafting Round Two of 2005: A Case Study

Over at Ridiculous Upside we've been debating exactly what a "weak draft" is, since this year's class has been called everything except deep. As you'll remember 2005 was also labeled a weak draft, but with a proper re-drafting of the 2nd round there appears to be some solid rotation guys even in what is considered the "worst" of drafts.

What does it take to make it to the NBA?

Our friends over at Blazersedge have recently been contemplating what makes an NBA player an NBA player. I thought I would throw this question out to you D-League lovers (all 6 of you) as this is issue is essentially the heart of what makes the D-League the D-League. So what do you think?

New D-League Teams' Mascots?

Predicting what the new D-League mascots will look like.

Antonio Meeking Signed By Boston

With the continuing injuries to Celtics big man Kevin Garnett, GM Danny Ainge has apparently been on the look out for another "Big Baby type player." His search has led him to D-league's own Antonio Meeking, who at 6'7" and 270 lbs meets the Celtics need for "more muscle in the paint, I mean... muscle or at least mass of some kind," according to Ainge. "We're looking forward to Antonio's contributions to the Celtics organization, both on and off the floor," Boston released in a statement on Wednesday. "Plus Stephon Marbury needs someone to drive his party truck." Meekings was averaging 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds in 35 minutes per game with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds this season. UPDATE FROM SCOTT: I don't know his agent, and therefore, this is going unconfirmed for now.
