Ron Harper: "My heart in LA is with the Clippers"
Quick Ron Harper HoopsHype interview
Lamar Odom Anyone?
Happy Wife = Happy Life
Seems like Lamar's wife isn't too happy about being in Dallas and the frustration is beginning to spill over in to his game with the Mavericks. Unless Lamar goes home to Brooklyn to play with the Nets or NYC to play with the Knicks, your not going to get a 100% all in Lamar Odom.
What about coming back to LA and playing for the Clippers? I think this would reinvigorate Lamar Odom to be that 6th-man-of -the-year-point-forward-beast he was for the Lakers. His wife would be happy in turn making him happy. I'm for it. What do you guys think?

JR Smith Signs with the Knicks
If I was in JR Smith's shoes, I'd do the same thing. Playing in a contract year under D'Antoni aka THE CONTRACT RAIN MAKER will set up J.R. to receive a contract playing in D'Antonis inflated stat filled system.
I still have faith with the Clippers F.O. Olshey repeatedly mentioned the possibility of lottery bound teams that may possibly unload a contract or two to preserve cap space... stay tuned!
Griffin will star when he becomes grounded.

Why we beat Oklahoma....
Exhibit A provided above will show three magic letters next to Brian Cook and Ryan Gomes. those letters are "DNP". Do this more often and a win is guaranteed.
Forbe's: Clipper's rank #20 most valuable NBA team
This list is BS. I thought David Geffen was offering $200 million+ for 51% of the Clippers? Regardless, I think on the open market the Clippers can easily get $500 million which would put us in the top 5 range.
Only seems logical.... the number 8 ranked Golden State Warriors are worth $480 million because thats what it sold for last year.
Eric Bledsoe Progress....
"Paul's backup, Eric Bledsoe, will also be returning to the lineup soon. Bledsoe, who has been recovering from offseason surgery on his right knee, went through a full practice Tuesday and Del Negro said the second year guard would likely be sent down to the Bakersfield Jam of the D-League soon to play a couple of games before joining the team in early February."
-Arash Markazi /ESPN
Sounds like Bledsoe went through his first full practice and is going to get some run in the D-League for a bit.
It's serious times for Lakers and Clippers

Sam Cassel claiming the old Clipper days!
""Everybody knows Sam. Sam’s a loud talker, regardless of what he’s talking about. If he’s talking to you in a friendly manner, he’s just a loud talker. I don’t know. Somebody must have took it and thought that me and Sam were arguing," Lewis said. "Maybe we was just talking. I know at one point, he was talking about how he was playing with the Clippers and I played in Seattle and he busted up [Minnesota Timberwolves point guard] Luke Ridnour and was bragging and talking noise. Maybe somebody took it out of [context, that] we was arguing, when he was talking about how he killed us when he was playing for the Clippers and I played for the Sonics. I have no idea what’s going on."
I love when Bill Simmons Bashes the Lakers.

Best part of the scrimmage...
I think the best part of the scrimmage was when the game officially ended and the score was tied up, Vinny gave the other side a sign to say "it's over, end it"..... Chris Paul walked over and said:
"This aint' over!"
Chris then looks over to the scorers table and says, "Put a minute back on the clock."
He looks over to a sitting Blake Griffin and says, "Get back on the court boy."
Chris looked at Del Negro and he didn't question it. He just said, "OK."
CP3 wasn't being disrespectful by any means he just wanted the game to have a winner and not finish with a tie. CP3 took the game over after either Mo Williams or Randy Foye missed a 3 pointer.
Backup Center free agents...
"With the urging of @CP3 & Chauncey, Clips want to add physical bigs. Keep eye on Antonio McDyess, Reggie Evans, Joel Pryzbilla & DJ Mbenga."
Not sure whats left out there but it sure is looking bareand picked through. Not many bigs left. I have personally have been hearing alot of people trying to convince me that Reggie Evans is the guy. I look at this list and see alot of names that are 10-15 minute a night guys. I think we should look in to Kyrylo Fesensko.
Sorry if i left a name or two out!

I didn't realize all the old dudes contracts that are up at the end of the year. If this was 5 years ago this may have been bigger than the Lebron, Wade, Bosh summer.
Chris paul deal can happen tuesday?!!
There is renewed momentum to push through a trade that would send Chris Paul from the league-owned New Orleans Hornets to the Los Angeles Clippers, according to sources close to the process.
After a seemingly imminent trade routing Paul to the Clippers collapsed earlier Monday, sources told ESPN.com that the league officials negotiating on the Hornets' behalf had aggressively re-engaged the Clippers in talks in hopes of completing a deal as soon as Tuesday.'

Marc Gasol anyone?
Looking at the Memphis Grizzlies pay roll this next year, I really find it hard to believe that they can offer Marc Gasol a competitive contract.
Currently they are at $37,363,810 with out Zach Randolph's mistake of a contract which is a 4 year $71 million dollar contract. Total that will put Memphis at $55,113,810. If they sign Marc Gasol at the rumored estimate of 5 yrs 60 million they would have a total salary $67,113,810... I don't see that happening because that would take them out of getting that shared revenue check that most small market teams use as their life blood.
With that said I hope GSW over pays for DeAndre Jordan... What they Didn't lear their lesson with Corey Maggette?
any thoughts?
You never know, maybe Marc Gasol can just take over the mortgage on his brothers house
Golden State Warriors fans take on Deandre Jordan
I personally think DeAndre Jordan is worth $8-$9million a year. Anymore than that, your getting in to a Corey Maggette situation. GSW is willing to pay $10.5 million a year. I'f we get into the $10-$12 million range, we might as well sign a 26 year old Marc Gasol for $12-$13 Million a year. No way I see Memphis giving him that.
Tayshaun Prince signs with Detroit
"Tayshaun Prince will sign a four year, $27 million dollar deal to stay with Detroit, league sources tell Y! Sports."

Assessing DeAndre Jordans' Worth

A while back I knew this crazy old guy that lived in my neighborhood who owned this '72 Mercedes Benz 280 SE. It was beautiful. It was in perfect showroom black condition that was all original. I wanted it. So, I figured the next time I'd see him I'd ask if it's for sale. But before I asked I had to do my due diligence... I checked cars.com, Auto-trader and eBay motors and I came to the conclusion that it was worth between $7-$8 thousand dollars. So sure enough, i see him by the Starbucks and I asked if his car was for sale.
He looked at me and said, "Yeah, sure, its gunna cost ya $13,000."
I told him about my research and asked how he came to such a figure?
He said, " Son... (yup, he son'ned me) you're right. This car is worth $8,000. It's also worth $5,000 in sentimental value because of my relationship and attachment with the car. I've owned it for 36 years."
I walked away from the situation learning that with all things exist an immeasurable amount of value based on sentiment.
It's no secret DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin are the best of friends. This unknown value of the relationship and sentiment between the two will surely be factored when the Clippers negotiate a deal with DeAndre Jordan. But so will DeAndre Jordan. He is a restricted free agent meaning that any team can offer him a contract and the Clippers can choose to match it. DeAndre may very well get an offer for $10 million a year from the Houston Rockets. Will he choose to play at home, or will he stay with the LA Clippers for a bit less to play with Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon?
With DeAndre Jordans' contract coming up there has been some debate as to what the Clippers are prepared to do. First, they have to put a value on Deandre Jordan and that may be a hard thing to do
of his valuation. Its almost assumed via every blog and NBA beat writer that he'll receive a contract in the neighborhood of $7 - $10 million.... Are we prepared to pay him that much?
What's he truly worth to the Clippers? Is that figure the same worth to other NBA teams? What do other centers with similar stats in the league earn? These are all questions the Clippers front office will have to find an answer to.
I figured to try something interesting.... What would DeAndre Jordan get paid in comparison to other Centers in the NBA. I figure by using by John Hollinger's PER, as a single digit to use as a barometer of a players talent level. I also only chose centers that received deals in the last 4 years. I decided not to use superstars (Dwight Howard) or overpaid low producing centers. The math equation for this would be a simple ratio. Here is an example... Chicago paid Joakim Noah roughly $12 million a year with a PER rating of 18.8. Deandre Jordan has a PER rating of 14.8. You multiply 14.8 by $12 million and that gets you 177,600,000 then you divide that by 18.8 which equals $9,446,808 million a year. This would allow you to assume, in a similar circumstance, Chicago would pay DeAndre roughly $9.5 million a year.

Of course there are different factors that will come in to play when NBA free agency opens. As I mentioned earlier, DeAndre will be a restricted free agent. That means we can sit back and see what the market offers him and when that happens we can choose to match his contract. Deandre isn't the only free agent center on the market. Along with him will be Nene, Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol, and Samuel Dalembert. If we lose DeAndre in free agency, it will be because someone is over paying for him. That won't happen as much in a new CBA climate. If Deandre Jordan were to go for an amount over $10 million. I wouldn't mind going a couple million more to get Marc Gasol. I'd say more or less we are in the drivers seat. Negotiating with as many free agents out there and all star free agent to be Chris Kaman still on the roster and the potential top 5 draft pick in Andre Drummond with Minnesota's unprotected 2012 draft pick things are looking good.

Go watch 'DRIVE' if your a true Clipper fan
The new Ryan Gosling movie that was released today gives so much love to the Clippers; its amazing. I can't describe it but you will not be disappointed. The director could have chosen to use the Lakers but went for the subculture team instead. I don't have much more to say but its AMAZING.
Sorry about the double paragraph. .....

Hunter sidesteps on question on pay
This is a good read that offers a good snap shot as to what went on behind closed doors the other day...
By the way... We are on an official lockout!
My take on Travis Leslie....
I first heard of this guy during the Memphis series when this guy laughed off Tony Allen comparisons and said that he will be a better than Tony Allen at the next level. That caught my attention and I said to my self, " I want that guy on the clips!" I think we could use a hard nosed tough guy with swagger which can sometimes be positive for a team. Look at what Tony Allen did for Memphis... DeShawn Stevenson for Dallas or Washington... Dahntay Jones for Denver against the Lakers a few years ago... JR Smith for Denver... He's just that mother F#$K@r defender thats a tick to opposing teams that can play good defense at the PG,SG, & SF positions. I think a guy like this is needed especially next to a quiet guy like Eric Gordon.
He's 6' 41/2" ; 205lbs ; 6' 11" wingspan; an amazing athlete (maybe the most athletic in this draft), I think he can do some damage and cause problems with the second team.
CHECK OUT THIS INTERVIEW... I LIKE HOW HE DOESN'T GIVE A RUN OF THE MILL ANSWER....
As for Trey Tompkins, he does nothing for me. Unless his childhood friend Aminu makes him work his ass off... I think Ike Diogu or Craig Smith will make sure this guy becomes a good piece for the Bakersfield Jam with Willie Warren. The fact that Arn Tellem is the reason why we drafted him actually makes me wonder what leverage Arn has over the FO.... Are we in the mix for one of Arn Tellem's athletes? Here is a list of people that Arn Tellem reps... Oh Look DeAndre Jordan is on that list. Weird.....
