Nba Draft open thread
Im surprised there is no draft watch thread up here?
Tristan Thomspson went number 4 to cleaveland.
Apparently in workouts he played derrick williams to a standstill. I guess now i really can't be mad at him for coming out early.
As far as I know Jordan Hamilton still hasnt been pick.
Post your thoughts here.
Corey Josheph is going to wish he had stayed another year.
Around the big 12 - alec burks(Colorado) went number 12 to the jazz
Markieff Moris(Kansas) went 13 to the suns
Marcus (kansas) went 14 to the rockets.
Finals Game 2 open thread
No one else has one up so I figured I would start it up.
They are playing in Miami who leads the series 1-0.
Game started at 8 and its showing on abc.
Lets watch Lebron James not win a ring. I kinda like Dirk and Kidd and JJ Barea even if they are all Mavs.
I hate the decision. I hated the decision.
Lebron James is a cocky prick.
Seriously. Who does that?

Tristan Thompson Signs with an Agent
In opposition to my previous fanpost Tristan Thompson is not coming back next year. He signed with an agent forgoeing his college eligibility next year.
Im guessing this means we are stuck at baloney.
We be not going ham either.

Tristan Thompson Coming back for a second year
Tristan Saying he is going to be coming back for his second year.
Article also mentions Jordan Hamilton saying he is coming back for next year.
Our team will be absolutely loaded. Next year is going to be great!
A look ahead
The Rockets have been on a nice little win steak as of late winning the past 3 of 4.
Take a jump with me to look at the upcoming rockets schedule in February.
Chris Simms facing charges
Simms, 30, was arrested in July at a West Houston St. checkpoint and charged with a single misdemeanor count of driving while under the influence of drugs.

Good read/watch.
Texas makes several appearances.
How do you play fantasy football?
I recently got invited to a FF League by my friend, but I've never played before. I was wondering what are yall's FF strategies. Do I draft a Qb first? What if I cant get any of the tier 1 qb's. Do i go in for a running back or Wide receiver?
What are yallz drafting strategies?
We are playing espn FF if that matters.
And finally how does the ranking system work. Do you play someone else and see whos team runs up the most points and yardage? Or do you just collect points and the one with the most points at the end of the season wins?
Trade for Granger.
Hey there. Rockets fan here. I was wondering if a trade for Granger would be possible?
A potential trade could be something like
Jordan Hill Pf/C ( a lottery pick from 2 drafts ago who looks like a legit nba player, has all the physical tools as well as a few nice post moves)
And pick one of the next 3
Shane Battier SF( A veteran team leader, glue guy, incredible defender, expiring contract)
Jared Jeffries PF( again another great defender. )
Trevor Ariza SF( He is young and at the start of last season he had glimpses of looking like Tracy Mcgrady while dropping 30 a game. He has cooled down some since but is still a great player and top wing defender).
We also have the rights to switch picks with New York next year, and New Yorks 2012 Draft pick. One or both could potentially be included here.
Another possible trade could be
IND gets:
Hill, Battier, Jeffries, Aaron Brooks, Filler
Houston gets:
Granger, Tj Ford, Draft picks
What do you guys think? Is a trade possible or is Granger your superstar who you wouldnt give up for anyone in the game?
I know a deal like this is something that may not be possible until right before the trade deadline but I would like to get granger now so the team can learn to play with each other over the season.

Aaron Brooks Trade Value
Daryl Morey is one of the greatest G.M's in the league, but I am sure you already knew that. He's made trades to sell high and buy low. Essentially bringing moneyball to basketball. And most of the time we end up with the better end of the deal.
Recently there was also alot of discussion concerning the rockets' title hopes with Aaron Brooks at the helm.
This got me thinking about how much Aaron Brooks is really worth. More after the jump.
Guess who should have listened to sleepy
Tmac is back with new drama. Thank god this time its with the knicks.
A Cursory look at Trevor Ariza
The honeymoon seems to be over. Lately there been alot of anti- Ariza sentiments on the blog. I understand we were all expecting him to become the next Tmac and the first couple of games he put up some crazy numbers. I know he often tries to do things he cant:create off the dribble and has bad shot selection at times, but overall he really is a good player. Just because he seems a little off on the offensive end does not mean he needs to be traded right away.
Rockets ranked 6th according to hollinger power rankings
http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankings
I just thought its cool we're ranked high.
I'm starting to think that the rockets arnt just a scrappy little team.. they are genuinely talented.
its a deep team and if tmac comes back we are deep at pretty much every position except center and anderson looked pretty sharp last game. chuck hays has been a stud... we've shown we can score and our defense is returning to form...
hey these guys are pretty good
Would u be mad?
Hey im a rockets fan here. And i was wondering.. if somehow cp3 were to demand a trade would you be mad at him for it? Im just wondering because all these frustrations seem to be just adding on and cp3 really seems to want a new team.
p.s i understand this is a highly doubtful senario.. if chris paul were that kind of player he would have voiced his concerned a long time ago
Big men tryouts
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/61661/20090918/rockets_audition_backup_big_men/
A trio of free agents joined the Rockets in workouts this week, hoping to receive an invitation to the team's training camp.
Stromile Swift, Lorenzen Wright and Jelani McCoy took part in Houston's workouts. Swift played for Houston during the 2005-06 season.
The Houston Chronicle added that there is a chance the Rockets could add a big man via trade prior to the start of camp.
what do yall think? how are they. ive heard of swift and wright but would they help the rockets ?
