Good Morning Early Risers!! Well it looks like our rockin' Cubs have secured a road series win!

Marquis didn't have much but enough to get the win. You gotta love a team that picks up a struggling pitcher.

I mentioned it in last night's thread but why would San Diego build a beautiful brand new stadium and make it so cavernous? Folks in San Diego tired of watching home runs? Anyway, that's their problem.

Can I get some love for a SWEEP tonight??!!

With the late start and all I thought I'd start a thread for those of us who had to sleep but rise early.

Caught the recap and I have to say that despite the fact that the bullpen is being used A LOT recently I love how this team comes back. I'd love to hear the conversations on the bench during the games.

I'd like to believe that Edmonds is beginning to heat up. Being on a winning team does something to players who are used to winning. I wonder if all Edmonds needed was to be back in a "comfortable" position? Like Yogi says, "Baseball is ninety percent mental. The other half is physical."

It's a great way to start a West Coast trip. Let's keep it going tonight!!

OT: Griffey Jr. gets 599

Saw Junior hit his 599th yesterday during the Braves/Reds broadcast on FOX (nice scheduling fellas!) and I reflected on his career to this point and I've decided he wins the award for "great player who deserved better".

I know he's a first ballot lock for the HOF but he's obviously been hampered by injuries throughout his career -- many of them coming from running into walls and the like.

He could have taken the easy way out and like so many others stated juicing but he didn't. He just took his lumps and played his way back. With all the time spent -- and in my opinion wasted -- on Bonds, Junior really has been overlooked.

I know he comes across as cold to some extent publicly but if I was in the same position I can't say I wouldn't act the same way or worse.

Do I root for him when he plays the Cubs? Of course not.

But I certainly root for him to end his career on a high note either in Cincy or wherever he ends up. I believe he's earned it.

OT: 5/27 Game Help

I'm hoping for some help from someone in the BCB nation.

I'm turning the big 4-0 on the 27th. Originally I had planned to come up from Alabama to see the entire Dodgers series including the game on my birthday but unfortunately I have had to change my plans.

Is there anyone out there that knows they're going to the game on May 27th and would be willing to help me "be there" by proxy?

I'd send you a self-addressed envelope, disposable camera and a check to cover all the expenses. If you could get a program and find a ticket stub to include as well that would be awsome.

I really don't care what pics you decide to snap (all clean PLEASE LOL!) just various shots from around the field would be great.

I know this is a lot to ask but it would really mean a lot to me.

Just respond to the post and we'll work out the details

Thanks
