Spurs Announce Summer League Roster

2

Jeff Ayres and Austin Daye will be on the Summer League team, though don't be surprised if they play in only a couple of games. Spurs draft picks on the roster include Ryan Richards, Marcus Denmon and DeShaun Thomas.

Which former Spur from last season has the best season this year?

Manu as Starter?

While I find it difficult to guess what the Spurs might do and if there are any offseason moves still to be made, as thing currently stand I think a good case can be made for putting Manu back in...

DeJuan Blair does not know why Gregg Popovich stopped playing him

1

Story on InsideHoops. "Pop stopped [playing] me. I couldn’t tell you what was going through that man’s head at all. Nobody knows but him."

Ryan Richards Eurobasket's Player of the Week

2

Sounds as if he has moved down in competition, but at least is playing. If he can keep it up, maybe he'll get a roster spot and be assigned to the Toros.

Spurs Recall Cory Joseph

+

With Manu likely to miss some games, Cory is brought in for reinforcements.

Spurs signing

1

Spurs sign Aron Baynes

Nando assigned to Toros

1

The Spurs have assigned Nando to the Toros. It might be just for tonight's game in order to get some court time.

James Anderson hanging around San Antonio

11

It seems James Anderson is among a number of Spurs working out with Assistant Coach Chad Forcier. He was interviewed on KENS5 sports and mentioned playing in the Summer League and how he likes being with the Spurs. Might be he's one of their free agents that the Spurs will bring back after all.

How to beat OKC's starting five

1

The article talks about how Brooks needs to adjust his starters due to the problems caused by Miami playing small ball, but basically lays out what the Spurs might have tried.

Tony Parker hurt in bar fight

1

Tony Parker does not seem to have been directly involved in the fight, but with bottles flying and glass breaking he suffered an eye injury due to shards of glass.

Malcolm Thomas signed by Houston Rockets

5

Malcolm Thomas recently signed a ten day contract with Houston.

Andrew Bynum to model his game after Bonner

19

Bynum vowed to continue to "expand his game" by taking shots from beyond the arc. "I guess, 'Don't take 3s' is the message, but I'm going to take another one and I'm going to take some more, so I just hope it's not the same result," Bynum said. "Hopefully I make it."

Top NBA D-League Prospects

3

Four Toros make the list: Johnson, Dentmon, Wright and Dawson. Former Spurs: Daniels, Ahearn, Larry Owens and Malcolm Thomas. Spurs might be more likely to pick up veteran help off the waiver wire, though Malcolm as a big and Ben Uzoh at PG are young and could make a future contribution.

Chuck Chooses Leonard, Splitter

16

This year's Rising Stars game during All-Star weekend rather than using the traditional Rookie vs. Soph format, the teams were chosen by "GMs" Charles Barkley and Shaq. Both Spurs players are on Team Chuck. Shaq seemed influenced by David Kahn in filling his roster with PG's.

Dallas looking to sign Finley! (Legends)

1

Michael Finley hoping to resume his NBA career, might join the D-League to show he's ready.

Toros game

11

Friday's Toros game (now over). Da'Sean Butler and Zeller are on the Toros bench.

Mahinmi Remains a Project

1

Nice article. Ian should have chosen a team where he gets playing time rather than a finals team where he barely plays. Notes that Ian got more minutes in the playoffs with the Spurs than he has so far this year with Dallas.

Rasho Nesterovic, Olympiacos - Euroleague Interview

3

Among the three games of the Top 16's second half, your 16 points helped beat Power Electronics Valencia away and everyone was talking about your three consecutive tip-ins in the fourth quarter. What do you remember about those plays?

James Gist, Euroleague Interview

+

You are leading the team in minutes, points, rebounds, blocks and three-pointers. Did you expect so much responsibility despite signing late?

Owens returns to Tulsa

5

While the Spurs do not seem to have made an announcement and at the moment he is still listed on their roster, Larry Owens has returned to the Tulsa 66ers and played in yesterday's game for them. He's been named to the D-League All-Star team.

Spurs Nation " No use sweating Splitter’s minutes

7

"I’m sure that he’s frustrated and would love to be on the court," Popovich acknowledged. "At the same time he’s been a total team positive, working hard to be ready if called upon. He’s conducted himself in a totally professional manner."

Game Recap: Spurs/Timberwolves at the AT&T Center

While I am usually quite content to watch the Spurs games on television, my wife and I try to make it to a game once a year or so for the added experience.  Due to our schedules, that usually means...

With George Hill banged up, Neal should continue to see increased minutes, and may just keep this high rung on the Ladder.

The Spurs must now be back in the hunt for a required 13th player.

Spurs #2 in Marc Stein's Power Rankings

10

Focus on the Spurs being in the midst of the eighth double-digit win streak of the Popovich Era? Or the fact that Duncan has five single-digit scoring games already? That didn't happen last season until March.

George Hill's Balance Bracelet

10

As the locker room opened after the Spurs’ 116-93 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, George Hill was determined to convince Manu Ginobili of the magical powers of Hill’s balance bracelet.
