I was born and raised in Denver. I began following the Broncos in their first season. There wasn't any TV of course, but I avidly read evedryaccount of every game and poured over their stats. It wasn't hard to see a Broncos game in person for the first few years. All you had to do was show up to a game and buy a ticket from someone standing around. I always got great seats doing that and never had to go to a ticket window the whole time.

Exhibition games in the early years were played at the old Denver University field. The games were in Bears Stadium with bleachers added in the out field to form the east stands. Those were my preferred seats in those days. Even in the army, I never failed to follow the news about the Broncos.

My two favorte game sof all time are the 87 AFC championship game in Cleveland and the first Super Bowl win agianst Greenbay. I loved both games because the Broncos were not supposed to win either one of them. They were both just great thrills to watch for every play.

Though I now live in Tucson, AZ, I haven't lost any of my fervor to see the Broncos win another Super Bowl.

I love this group and the information here is amazing. Seems like a home to actual fans instead of those that love to prattle in the comments secitons of the Post.

Im glad to be hear and suspect I will be here for a long time.

Mile High Report Breaking - Orton announced as the starter!!

I just saw this on the DB site.  Has anyone heard anything else like this from anywhere else?

If this is the case, I'm surprised. I had expected them to go into camp with the competition still on going at least through the firest two pre season games.  But, maybe McDaniels has seen enough and made his decision?

I hope this gets confirmed soon and will be looking for it.

From the Caldwell blog entry

I just checked the DP and NFL.com, and  there is nothing there yet,  This was even buried on the DB site and I found it a bit accidentally.

If this turns out to be a mistake, I apologize, but it seems like a big enough story to me.

Mile High Report Things I want to get off my mind..... Part Deux

 “Franchise QBs”

Setting the Broncos back 10 years

The hard schedule ensuring a losing season

I think one of the most over used phrases I have seen this off season is the tag "franchise player"  I mean it has become ridiculous and its one that no one even wants to qualify anymore.  For example the media has crowned Sanchez and Stafford both as "franchise" QBs.  This is, of course, absurd.  Neither one of them has played a down in the NFL yet.  They have a long way to go before they are worthy of that label.   Do they have potential?  Of course they do.  So did Ryan Leaf and many others before him.  But they are not, as of today, "franchise" players.  And neither is Jay Cutler

Mile High Report Things I want to get off my mind.... Part One

“Patricos”

“Franchise QBs”

Setting the Broncos back 10 years

The hard schedule ensuring a losing season

For several weeks now, I have been trying to read blogs and get information about our new coach, his plans, his players and the direction of the Broncos in 2009.  I have to say I was pretty frustrated until I found MHR.  What a breath of fresh air to find some CIVIL discussions of one of my favorite topics, the Broncos.  Not football, but rather Broncos football.
