Arizona Cardinals Official 2012 Schedule
Here it is folks, our schedule for 2012. Looks like a tough haul. We get an easy start at home against the Seahawks, but then have a huge back to back test at New England and home against the Eagles. There's a tough three game stretch in the middle of the season, home against the 49ers on Monday Night Football, away against the Packers, and away against the Falcons. Finally, a we finish the season on a tough stretch, home against the lions, bears, and we finish at San Fransisco. Looking at this schedule makes me glad we got that extra preseason game because I think we are going to need it to avoid a huge letdown at the start of the season. The nice things about our schedule; we have a week 10 bye, only twice do we have back to back away games and we have no back to back to back, and finally we're on prime time twice. What are everyone's thoughts on our season? Given our schedule, how many games will we win? My opinion 8-10 wins.

Tebow to the Jets
Just coming out from ESPN right now, Tim Tebow has been traded to the Jets for a 4th and a 6th round pick with Denver sending back a 7th rounder.
In my opinion, Tebow going to the Jets is kinda confusing. They already have, in my opinion, one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL and then they bring in Tebow who can't throw a football. I think they brought in Tebow for certain packages, but once Sanchez starts down his normal path of bad QB play, the fans are going to start howling for Tebow. Will be interesting to see how Rexy deals with that one. Denver made out like bandits in all of this getting Manning AND getting rid of Tebow while gaining 2 more draft picks.
What is everyone's thoughts?

Goodell crushes Saints
Roger Goodell has come down hard on the Saints docking them two 2nd round picks, fining them $500,000 and suspending Sean Payton for the entire year.
I'm glad Goodell is lowering the boom. Obviously he couldn't take away a first round pick this year because the Saints don't have one, so I feel the 2 second rounders, one in 2012 the other 2013, is fair. Payton being suspended for a year is a harsh penalty, but warranted I feel. Goodell needs to make sure this never happens again, and I believe this suspension will do that. Also,. Greg Williams has been suspended indefinitely. Kinda makes me feel bad for the Rams getting shafted like this, but I guess that happens. GM Loomis was suspended 8 games and fined $500,000. Assistant Coach Vitt was suspended 6 games.
What are your thoughts?

Rams are getting paid.
Good news bad news time. First the good news. The Redskins are officially out of the Peyton Manning hunt. The bad news? It's because they've traded for the Rams 2nd overall pick in the draft. They must think RG3 is the guy because they are giving up a boatload for him. The Rams will receive the Redskins 1st round pick for the next 3 years as well as this years 2nd rounder. The Rams will now be picking 6th and most likely will still have one of their top choices available. In my opinion, the Rams made out like bandits and have made a move that will help to make them competitive in the NFC West. Doesn't look the NFC West is going to be such a terrible division any more. Also, a little off topic, ESPN is reporting the Jets are also out of the Manning sweepstakes. Thoughts?

Peyton to the Cardinals. It Needs to Happen.
All right folks, stick with me on this. I'm not saying this will happen, or that we would have the cap room to do it, or that Peyton will even be available, but let's for a second imagine what could happen if the Cardinals traded for or picked up Peyton Manning as a FA. First of all, the Cardinals would get rid of Kolb, maybe trade him to the Colts if a trade is needed to get Peyton; they need a backup QB bad as evidenced by this season. Then draft an OL to help keep Manning upright or a #2 WR that could free up Larry. Then we have Peyton Manning, behind an improving O line throwing to the best WR in the NFL with an up and coming WR threat at #2. Bennie Wells and Ryan Williams could run all day with the attention the defense would have to give to Peyton and Larry. Our defense becomes a top ten unit that just has to hold teams to less than 24 points a game due to a deluge of points from our offense. What about Skelton? Well he's sitting behind Peyton sucking every little bit of knowledge possible for the day when Peyton retires as a Cardinal after bringing the desert their first two super bowl titles. I think I just wet myself...Thoughts?
Looks Like O'Brien Schofield Has A New Nickname
I love it! Let's see how long the mohawk sticks around...

Let the Kolb bashing continue...
Continuing on from our previous thread, post any news on trades, signings, rumors, or any other interesting tidbits you find here. Kolb and Orton are still available with fewer and fewer teams interested in them. The Cards could get a steal. Find out about it here first! Enjoy, let's make it interesting, and let's go Cardinals!

I'm not sure if someone had already planned on doing this, but I thought I would get the ball rolling. I figured it would be nice to have one thread where people can post any news they hear about trades, player signings, rumors, or any other interesting tidbits so we don't have to root through 100's of posts. Jess, maybe you can throw it up on the main page? This is one of the first times I'll say this, but I'm very lucky to work a weekend shift and have Tuesday and Wednesday off, so I'll be doing my best to keep this updated. Happy End of the Lockout Day to you all and let the fun begin :)

Full Fledged Free Agency Could Start Tuesday
Coming from the mouth of Brees who is actually in the dealings makes me very excited about this little news bit.
Jason Wright Retires
Quite a news day. Congrats to Jason Wright. He will definitely be missed. Great contributor to the team. Looks like the backfield is becoming a little clearer.
DRC to be offered for Kolb when lockout ends
In my opinion, this is a bad idea. Of course who knows if this is legit or someone's opinion (Anyone know if Strohman writes for yahoo???).
Fitzgerald #14 in NFL's top 100
Wish he could have been a little higher, don't think Andre Johnson has come up yet, but a great showing for Larry. Plus Scott Haley shares a surprising tidbit about the super bowl I hadn't heard.
University of Phoenix Stadium Finalist For 2015 Super Bowl
It's us against Tampa Bay for the 2015 Super Bowl and will be decided in October. Maybe the Cardinals could be the first to play a home super bowl???
Kickoffs moved to the 35
I can't believe this actually passed with all the criticism it's received. How long till players like Hester and Howling become expendable?
Do Not Draft!
Mock drafts are coming out left and right and it seems each one has the Cardinals taking someone different. I've seen the following names connected to the Cardinals: Amukamara, Bowers, Gabbert, Green, Jones, Miller, Newton, Peterson, and Quinn. We all know that people here are ROTB are high on Von Miller, Patrick Peterson, and Robert Quinn, but I'm interested to find out who you don't want. Who is the player you feel would be the worst pick possible for the Cardinals and why?
Lockout Starts at Midnight
I was hoping this wouldn't happen and had hope that we would have free agency start tonight, but instead it looks like the lockout starts tonight. It's being reported by several people:
http://twitter.com/AdamSchefter
http://twitter.com/adbrandt
http://twitter.com/wingoz
According to Trey Wingo (scroll down on his twitter page) a judges ruling on the lockout could come, at the earliest, in 3 weeks and maybe up to 6 weeks. Looks like it's time to batten down the hatches folks...
NFL Salary Cap Vs. MLB No Salary Cap
Hey all, figured I throw a point of conversation out there since there's not much else to talk about and also because I'm interested in everyone's thoughts. Do you feel the NFL has the right idea imposing a salary cap on the league or would you prefer a none capped league ala MLB. This is a discussion/argument my wife and I get into all the time (I love being able to argue intelligent sports with my wife :) and I feel the salary cap is a good thing and keeps teams from becoming powerhouses like the Yankees. The team with the most money might not always win, but they have the most opportunity to win. It keeps parity in the league and any given team can win any given sunday/year. My wife feels the salary cap is a bad thing because it destroys teams. Favorite players end up leaving a team because that team doesn't have the space to afford to keep them (She's a Ravens fan and is a little bitter about losing Trent Dilfer after their Super Bowl.) It also allows teams to keep players who love the team and want to play because they love playing. She also loves the idea of a huge underdog stepping up to beat the heavy favorite which is more plausible in MLB than the NFL (Dimondbacks vs. Yankees). So what are your thoughts. I know that non capped might work well in MLB and not NFL and vice versa, but if you could have an uncapped NFL, would you want it?
Mike Miller Promoted to OC
Hopefully this solves a lot of our play calling problems.
Kolb Interested in the Cardinals
Who knows how far this will go. Just look at McNabb. Another Eagle who wanted to come to Arizona and that never happened. Also who knows if the Eagles will let him go, they might think Vick is too fragile to let Kolb walk. And who knows if we'll have a CBA in time to trade for him. Still, It's nice to know our interests are mutual.

We need a QB. Who do you want?
Hey guys! Haven't been able to post in a while so I thought I write up something real quick. Now that this season is finally past us, I was interested in everyone's thoughts about our QB situation. I know there's a few people chatting about it on the potential QB rumor post so I thought I would expand it to a new post. First question, who do we want? If price is no problem, who would you most (realistically) like to have? So far I've hear Kevin Kolb, Carson Palmer, Marc Bulger, Donovan McNabb, Matt Flynn, Kyle Orton, and even Alex Smith. Feel free to throw in other names. Second question, what are you willing to give up for said player. Is Kolb worth our #5? Trade 1's and add a 2? 2, 3, and a 4? Let the off season and the prayers for a next season begin!
So THIS is what happened to Max Hall in the Tampa game...
Hayes and Schofield Activated
Good to see with Haggans injured.
Looks like Matt Leinart has hit a new low.

Marshawn Lynch Traded to Seahawks
And the NFC West just got a whole lot more interesting. Marshawn Lynch, who had been rumored to be on the trading block for some time, was traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2011 4th rounder and a conditional 2012 pick. Everyone was saying the Packers should take a look at him, but instead he goes to the NFC West. The Seahawks have released Julius Jones to make room for him. Thoughts on how this effects the Cardinals and the NFC West as a whole?

Trent Edwards Released
What do you think? Better or worse option than D.A.? I think we should give him a serious look.
Wilson wins defensive player of the week
Surprise, surprise. Adrian Wilson's amazing performance in the Arizona Cardinals week 1 game against the St. Louis Rams has netted him the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award for week 1. Wilson made big play after big play in Sunday's game, giving the Cardinals the opportunity to win this game. Wilson had a blocked kick, 2 interceptions, and a sack. Congrats to A-Dub!

Cardinals put rumors to rest, sign a new WR; release Rouse
Looks like the rumors about the Cardinals going after another wide receiver were true. They just signed Mike Jones, a WR who was a senior at ASU in 2008 who had short stints with the Texans and the Seahawks last year. He's a big guy at 6-4 and could be interesting to look at, but to me this signing means Larry is fine and they just need another receiver to fill a hole. Best case scenario, we find a way to use that size. To make room for Jones, Aaron Rouse was released. No word if this was due to injuries sustained from his car accident, which were believed to be not serious.

LITTLE Deuce Coupe?
Duce Lutui is apparently getting his rear in gear. He passed his conditioning test along with several teammates during conditioning drills. He's reportedly down to 360 lbs. Maybe there's hope for him yet?
