Erie Otter Forward Steps in at Goalie

Really cool story about the Erie Otters of the OHL. My family is all from Erie, and I dawn the Otter when I play pick up, so I'm a little biased, but still a very good read.

NHL Injuries

I was thinking about how many big names are injured right now, and found this list at Yahoo. There are plenty of typical foot, hand, groin injuries, but the concussions. . . so many of them, and to a lot of great young talent, not just the stars like Crosby, Staal, Pronger. Jesse Winchester of Ottawa, Jeff Skinner from Carolina, Nathan Gerbe of Buffalo, they all have concussions. Just thought this list might help some people see just how many great players are out.

This is a cool photo of Henrik Lundqvist jamming with Jay Weinberg, drummer for my favorite band Against Me! Jay is also the son of Max Weinberg, Bruce Springsteen's drummer. I think it's cool seeing players doing other things besides being awesome hockey players.

Hey Rangers fans. I found this on one of the Tumblr's I follow and thought I would share it with you all because it's pretty cool. Jay Weinberg, son of Max Weinberg, AKA Bruce Springsteen's drummer, practicing with your own King Henry for a charity event. Jay plays drums for my favorite band, Against Me! Hope you guys like it. Oh ya, and Go Pens.

John Steigerwald called out by Puck Daddy

18

Has anyone else heard this? John Steigerwald, the moron that he is, said that Ovechkin has taken performance enhancement drugs, which is retarded because hockey players taking steroids doesn't make sense. So Ryan Lambert comes on and tries setting it straight, calls the other Moron Brother Paul a huge homer, which he is. The Steigerwalds share a brain, plain and simple, and John is pretty immature during the interview. Given both of their past, some could say borderline slanderous/libelous statements, I would love to see the two Steigies shit canned.

This is the hit on Letang. First, never mind the ass clown at the end of the clip who says Pacioretti was clearly hitting body. What a homer. So why am I posting this? Because of Matt Cooke. I found it interesting watching Cookie's reaction to the entire thing. Should I tend to Letang, but you can tell he wants to go over and really mess Max up. But then, he remembers, no whistle, get back in the game, do your job. People may doubt he's changing, but I think the old Cooke would have gone right after Max from the get go and most likely done something stupid.

We played together in 1987 in the Canada Cup. I had more fun playing with Mario than I've ever had playing hockey. He would have added 10 years to my career, without question. He was so smart and talented. We played the game the same way. We thought it the same way.

From a recent SI article by Dan Patrick. He asks the Great One what it would be like to play with Mario. That would have been scary.

TSN Look at Penguins

Pay close attention to what they say about Niskanen and Martin. I respect TSN and think it was a good look at the team and what can be expected.

I think all hockey fans can find pleasure in this.
