Hey guys. Have some great optimistic news for you. I was walking through Cherry Creek Mall today around 330pm with my wife and I saw Demarius Thomas jogging up about to past me. I was able to stop him for just a second (he looked like he was in a hurry - probably because he had to get over to the stadium before the game tonight). I asked him how long before we'll see him back on the field and he said 3 weeks! This is GREAT news if it turns out to be accurate, even 4 or five weeks from now would be great! Just thought I'd pass this on since it came straight from the horse's mouth! Enjoy the game tonight! I know I will!!

This may have been posted a long time ago, but its amazing information. I know it's Drew Brees, but given all the talks about Tebow's mechanics I think it highly interesting. It makes me realize maybe Tebow SHOULDN'T be messing with his mechanics at all, even the slightest bit off and the ball acts completely different!

I forgot to post this after attending Saturday's game at Invesco Sports Authority Field at Mile High... They had an ORANGE blue and white animated logo on the jumbotron several times. It is speculation to say that it will be there official logo (it looks alot like the blue/red/white badge someone posted on here last week), but I'm pretty sure whatever it is, they are willing to adopt the Broncos colors for the Stadium.

WTH!! I can't even sleep right now. It feels like Christmas Eve before the first preseason game. This lockout messed with my head guys. I want to see Broncos Football NOW!

Other than a handful of shots on Renaldo Hill, this video of 2010 Defensive highlights covers our current players exclusively. Mostly DJ, Haggan, Mays, Dawk, Champ, Goody, and a splash of Cox, and Squid at the end. I didn't realize how violent DJ is when he hits. I never noticed that before. Maybe he's getting eating whatever Dawkins is eating. Lol. If Mays and DJ are our starters at LB, with Miller coming on strong. That is a SCARY LB corps. Not just in talent/ability, but in raw violence. Its going to be terrifying. HECK YES!!!

Short highlight real and recap of the WK4 Denver Dallas game last year. Best quote: Sanders "Champ Bailey... only the best corner in the game right now, arguably" I don't care who says Champ has lost a step, when the best CB of all time cays that Champ is the best corner in the league, there's probably a LOT of truth to that.

Most of the second half of 2009's WK4 game against Dallas. The one run where McDaniels looked like he knew what he was doing. I thought it was fitting to pop up here before tomorrows preseason game. We had a stingy defense in this game, and just a refresher on Dumervil, DJ, Dawkins, and Champ. These guys are our core, I think under Fox our defense should rock tomorrow! (Edit) It is actually most of the second quarter and the entire second half of the game. Orton was hurt still wearing the glove. But at least we had our whole O-Line. We still hand't gotten McDaniels passing game down yet this year (with Orton hurt), but having a running game and a TE to pass to sure helped a lot in crucial situations. I REALLY hope Fox's crew doesn't get flagged as much as McDaniels complex offense. Jeez. We had 3 penalties in ONE drive.

Just got back from Invesco Field Scrimmage. Will write up a post later this afternoon, but I wanted to toss out my first impressions and what stood out to me overall. Orton drove briskly downfield and then scrambled to the 1 yardline and slid on a knee because three defenders were about to rock him. The crowd boo'd. I was in shock. Orton looked solid. Quinn looked solid. The whole stadium cheered when Tebow took the field. Then he did horrible. He looked indecisive and had a poor outing in the live portion. His preseason games will have to be stellar for him to get the nod over Orton... (or Quinn for that matter).

Wow. Now I see why Fairley dropped all the way down to the Lions. And Cam Newton's maturity here looks just amazing. It appears Fox got out of town just in time, what a headache that kid will probably turn out to be. And Fairley, man those Lions are gonna be scary. If Nick is taking shots like these and Suh plays extremely violently too (though cleaner) that's going to be on dirty D Line in Detroit. Glad we didn't end up with any of these players.

The Fear with Silver Linings

Trotter not making it any easier for Cutler...

21

The worst part (to me) about Cutler not finishing the game - regardless of injury - is that: it just adds to the perception that he quits when things aren't going his way. He tapped out in Denver and got himself expelled (by not answering the phone when Pat Bowlen HIMSELF was calling). I don't care if you absolutely DETEST your HC; you still answer your owner and communicate your concerns and figure out whats best for yourself and the franchise moving forwards. McD was gracious to send him to CHI - right where he wanted to go (just like sending Scheff back to Michigan, and Marshall to Miami) when he was clearly refusing to talk to anyone and hated that he was getting mentioned in trade ideas. If there isn't a huge aura of insecurity surrounding Cutler (regardless of whether its true) than paint me stupid. Chicago could be in a worse situation than just dealing with Cutler's insecurity (which could explain why he tries to force throws all the time and make great plays), because the guy is very talented and offers a much more ideal QB situation than quite a few other teams in the league. The day he can get over himself and the fact that sometimes things just don't go your way will be the day that Chicago finally cashes in on their end of the trade and reaps exponential benefits from it.

Denver's interest in McDermott not surprising.

3

This is a year-old article from the PA Mercury speculating about Denver interest in McDermott in 2009 right around the time of the McDaniels hiring. It doesn't surprise me that the Broncos are still interested, especially since the situation in Philly collapsed. McDermott comes from a great coaching background in Philly dating back as far as 1998, serving as scouting adminstrator/coordinator. He then followed in Spagnulo's footsteps up the coaching tree in Philly as Defensive Backs, then Linebackers coach. He was finally promoted to DC after Jim Johnson's death. Those are some great defensive coaches to be associated with. If Denver makes this move I will be really excited. McDermott appears to be a hard-nosed coach with lots of energy and expects a high level of performance from his players. This is exactely the kind of guy Denver needs to set some strict rules and turn a sloppy defense into a disciplined and aggressive one. He spent over a decade under Jim Johnson (who ran a very good and very aggressive 4-3 in PHI) and worked closely with Spagnulo - which are some great coaches to learn from. Time under John Fox's defensive wisdom is only going to make this guy more well rounded. And the fact that he worked in scouting and was also a HC assistant in Philly is a bonus considering leadership and knowledge at the top is inexperienced (Elway has some growing to do, and Xanders could always use another knowledgeable voice for defensive players come draft time.

Chargers Hire DC Manusky

4

This almost garuntees River landing a HC job in Carolina. I was still hoping against hope we'd land him somehow - even as a DC (now that Fox has been hired). I suppose the one upside to Rivera in Carolina is that he's not in our division anymore. :D

The Answer is John Fox

Everyone has an individual opinion on this move, and it's not just the opinions of the hire that matter - it's the perspectives they are coming from. I think the question a lot of fans (maybe...

Brandon Lloyd's response to a question by Gary Miller about the surprising turn around in the forth quarter of the Chargers game on CBS4's Infinity Broncos Live. "It's almost like..the second half is.. a new game, you know, and I don't know if that's the.. Well, i'm not going to say 'I don't know' I'm gonna say it's the energy that Tim's bringing to the second half, and knowing that the passion, his desire to make one single play successful. And then he continued to do it EVERY play. It's somethin' i've never heard of, and its somethin' i've never seen before. And it just brings a lot of passion and excitement to the players out there." No emphasis added. Brandon Lloyd was almost just stuttering when he was saying this because you could see his eyes searching as he grasped for the right words to describe it. When one of the best players on the team can barely describe the intangible drive that the leader of the offense brings to his guys (and the whole rest of the team). THAT is saying something. Andrew Luck eat your heart out.
